I'm giving one star because of the deceptive menu. The small cheesesteak I ordered was listed on the menu as $9.36, but when the cashier rang me up it was $11.27 - practically $2 more! The cashier said there was no way to alter the amount the machine required. Obviously, the price on the menu needs to be exactly the same as what's charged. Even if the difference is $0.15 off that's not acceptable, but a whole $2 is pretty ridiculous. read more

Not being able to tell which sub is buffalo chicken (opposed to steak) tells me they were made very poorly. I saw one drop of buffalo sauce. They didn't add ranch as requested. I get Charley's nearly every week on Wednesdays, since I always visit the mall on Wednesdays. I made it a "tradition" of sorts. After a while, however, I would go to order my food (anytime between 12-2), and for maybe a whole month, whenever I went to the food court, there was no one working around. I'd wait for a few minutes, and not one person would come out the back. That was really disappointing, and I was super frustrated, especially since there was no sign up explaining what was going on. However, a little while ago they started back up, and they've been better than ever. Not exactly anything to especially applaud, but nowadays, that's all you need: a restaurant doing its job, and doing it well. There have been a few occasions where the staff has particularly impressed me, just in their demeanor and sweetness. But I really recommend Charley's. I eat here VERY often, and since that month of not knowing what was going on, I've had good experiences all around. read more

We were walking around the food court trying to decide what to eat and this friendly guy asked if we'd like a sample of one of their chicken subs (#2 can't remember the name). It was really tasty so we decided to eat here. I ordered the #8 which was a steak philly with grilled onions, jalapeños, and white American cheese. The sandwiches come in 3 sizes small, regular, large (I think) I had a regular (see picture). If you do a combo you get the choice to upgrade to cheese fries or plain and you get a medium drink. Choices are regular, strawberry or blueberry lemonade, soda or iced tea. The staff was very friendly, food was exactly as ordered; hot, fresh and FAST! They also asked if I'd like mayo, lettuce and tomato on it. We made a good choice selecting this place to eat today. Highly recommend. read more

I went there today thinking it was going to be the great sandwich I usually have in the Temecula mall location, but when I got my sandwich I noticed there were no pickles no green peppers barely any onions! I asked the girl named Jessica ans she responded with an attitude and said we only put tomatoes and lettuce on it unless you ask? excuse me but if the mente says it comes with grilled bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes, why do I need to ask? This is the stupidest response I ever heard! Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience of not doing her job she gives a very poor excuse that would make the customer more upset!! MAKE SURE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! Went to this place for lunch yesterday, and ordered the Chicken Philly sandwich they had on special. Chicken Philly comes with chicken, cheese, mushrooms, green pepper and onion. When my sandwich was served, it had only chicken, cheese and onion. I asked why the other ingredients weren't on the sandwich, and was told, "We're out of'em." Excuse me? When I placed my order, the person behind the register didn't bother to tell me they were out of some of the ingredients for the sandwich I wanted. Had they done so, I would have changed my order - or gone elsewhere to get something different. So I took the finished sandwich back to the register to let the person know there needed to be some adjustment on the price, to reflect the missing ingredients - or they needed to refund the meal completely, and they could keep the sandwich. The guy said, "Would you like us to re-make it for you?" And I said, "You don't have all the ingredients, so why would I want it re-made the same way I'm complaining about now?" Then he apologized and offered me a coupon for a free sandwich the next time I came in. Absolutely NO concern or interest in the fact that I'd just been charged for something I hadn't gotten - and they shouldn't have offered for sale, if they didn't have everything needed to make it. Nor was I told at the time I ordered, that they were out of key ingredients. At that point, I insisted my order be refunded immediately - and they could keep the sandwich. The guy behind the counter, grudgingly refunded my money. Unbelievable! They would have gladly charged me full price for a meal that they KNEW was incomplete - and didn't think the customer would notice - or if the customer DID notice, wouldn't have the nerve to complain or question it. Seriously? My complaint was NOT about the food. It was about the DECEPTION. When I place an order for something, I expect to get what I ordered. If it's not available the way it's advertised, I expect to be told - NOT charged for something I wasn't getting, in the hope I wouldn't notice! Not bad. I had a regular Philly cheesesteak which tasted fine. Good amount of meat, veggies tasted fresh and bread was soft with a nice toasty exterior. A little bit on the pricey side though. I paid about $12 for the sandwich, fries and drink. Counters were a little messy but service was friendly. Honestly the only positive thing about this place was their strawberry lemonade, their sampler, & the sample itself. They should have that young kid that hands out the sample as their cashier OR get him to a fine dining restaurant instead as a host/waiter...his customer service skills are incredible and the best I've ever experienced from an employee anywhere, especially fast food.
