Finally, I found a Del Taco worthy of five stars. Recently, I've noticed other Del Tacos have been cutting corners, providing smaller portions, and not properly training new employees. For a long while now, this location has been amazing. Went here late last night on the way home from a visit to the ER. Line at Jack n the box was long and not moving. I was able to see lights on at the new del taco and was greeted with a very friendly voice who took my order. It was hot, fresh and most of all friendly. His name was Jose and he introduced himself and welcomed us. The food was reasonably priced, hot and fresh but the service was the reason we will return. It costs nothing to provide good service and Jose went above and beyond to make our long journey better. read more

I moved from the east side of Escondido to the west side of the Del taco obviously in the west side of town my experience there was horrible old fries that tasted reheated and I ordered Carnitas tacos that were just awful. I couldn't even believe they served them to me tables were dirty. Just a total bad experience I drive all the way back to the east side of town now just to get fresh delicious food. I love the Del taco here in town I used to live in Fallbrook and I have one near me and now I have one near me and I really enjoy it just don't come during the weekend when the big team is cooking up the food. You'll experience burnt tortillas or ingredients that shouldn't be in food or long wait times when there's not many people that I've ordered any food. Thought I'd give Del Taco a try after passing them by for 30 years. Had the new supposedly tender Al Pastor in a burrito for $9.00. The meat was dry, chewy, and fairly tasteless. Asked for a few chips on the side and was charged $1.49 for about seven chips. And the salsas are in those annoying little packets like Taco Bell. I always feel a little silly writing a review for fast food places, but the truth is some are quite frankly head and shoulders above others. This is a great example of this. For MANY years we have gone to the Del Taco next to the 15 Fwy on W Valley Pkwy and it used to be awesome, but it has gone downhill and shows ZERO signs of improvement or even caring that there is a problem. We now drive all the way across town to this Del Taco to eat and my husband LOVES Del Taco so we eat there often. This Del Taco is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. But truly the biggest shining star is they give you food that tastes good and that is a large quantity. If you compare a burrito from the other Del Taco to this one, you will see a marked difference in size. Or a Del Taco... they look like two different menu items. This store does a wonderful job of making the food and not skimping on the ingredients and thats why people come across town to eat here. That deserves to be pointed out on Yelp! read more

My amazing honey and I were grabbing a late night dinner after he got off of work and while this location is a bit out of the way(sadly our local Del taco closed a few years back) it was well worth the trip! The manager Celestino is always super nice and friendly when I go. His customer service is honestly above and beyond. The girls are friendly as well. Always asking if I need sauce (which many places don't!) or anything else to complete my order. Anytime I go through the drive thru, napkins are in my bag and enough sauces! I know this is a fast food restaurant and I shouldn't expect too much but this is ridiculous. Take a look at the picture of the nachos and the bowl of cheese. Then look at reality. The nachos were the right size but had a small drizzle of cheese on them, not covered in cheese like the picture. ( The nachos were partly eaten in the pic.). So I went to get the cheese in the bowl. That "bowl" ended up being a tiny cup usually used for salsa or catsup and it cost a dollar. So much for queso at Del taco. read more

This is by far the best, clean, polite, well maintained Del Taco in the world. This one has done so well across the board in every aspect they promoted the manager about a year ago. The new manager is every bit as awesome and attentive to detail as the previous one. Just a top notch operation all others should emulate. You can be a fast food chain and still accell above others by holding to high standards. This Del Taco does it in spades. I stick to the standard menu and haven't tried the Platos.
