First visit, and it definitely won't be my last…read more We stopped in and ordered a Philly with provolone (subbed for Cheese Whiz and added lettuce) and the Faroe Island sandwich. Both were excellent and packed with flavor. The real test for me was the drive home. I live about 40 minutes away, so I didn't get to eat my sandwich right away. To my surprise, it was still warm when I got home and just as good as if I had eaten it there. That's not something you can say about most sandwiches. The fries were a pleasant surprise as well. Crispy, flavorful, and addicting enough that they barely survived the ride home. Beyond the food, I really enjoyed the shop itself. There was a great selection of specialty meats, seasonings, sauces, and unique items that made me want to take my time and look around. The place was packed, which is usually a good sign, and after trying the food, I completely understand why. It's not often that a first visit lives up to the hype, but this one did. Great food, a well-curated shop, and absolutely worth the drive. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

And the cheesesteak was soo rich and decadent. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The fries were also awesome. We were able to sit outside on the small benches and eat our sandwiches there. However, there is really not much seating. I think most people take their food to go.

Positives the bread was extremely soft, reminded me of a steam bun. They were very stingy with the everything toppings, literally a couple of pieces of lettuce, barely any, so scarce that I thought they forgot to put them on there. The steak was bland and lacked seasoning. For the up charge for the double meat, the amount that you got and the limited amount of toppings this really missed a mark. Wings I got the soy garlic sauce, I liked that it was a light sauce. The wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. For the price, I was not expecting very small party wings like my fingers were longer than some of those wings. I get that it's Silver Spring, however, the price point should match the quality and portions. Well, this place didn't feed my soul; perhaps it does yours.

We ordered our beers, wings and LA galbi bowl. The spicy soy wings were nicely flavored with enough kick that I ordered another 10 wings to bring home. My friend Danielle ordered the sweet and spicy which she could have devoured but decided to keep some to bring home. The other gal order the LA galbi bowl with runny egg - she devoured it too and it is new to the menu. We were a little disappointed that they have removed the ramen to the menu - that is why it is scored as 4 star. The person manning the bar was pretty attentive. Mike's is just a comfortable place to catch up with friends - not busy or crowded! Highly recommend their Korean Chicken Wings!

I did come during the lunch rush and waited about 47 minutes, which is the only real downside. That said, the woman at the register was super communicative, apologized for the wait, and didn't dodge it or make excuses. I really appreciated that level of honesty and customer service. Now for the food... my cheesesteak was . They actually gave me an 18-inch even though I ordered a 12-inch because of the wait, and that thing was massive. More importantly, it was top tier. Easily one of the best cheesesteaks I've had, and that's saying a lot since I've hit plenty of great spots in Philly and Baltimore. The meat was perfectly seasoned, the toppings were fresh, and the bread was soft and on point. Would I go back again? Hell yes.

When I got to the front I realized you still have to order on a kiosk, with no way to customize. I asked someone and she said she'd let the kitchen staff know my request for no mushrooms. Customer service was good and there's plenty of space to sit and eat there. The sandwich fell flat for me. The chicken cheesesteak i got comes with "your choice of cheese" but the kiosk doesn't allow you to actually choose a cheese, so it came with none. The fries were hot and crispy. I really enjoyed those.

It's the kind of place you go when you want something quick and reliable. Food: I only get the wings and fries, so I can't speak on the rest of the menu. But I've been going here over a year and a half and the oil is always fresh. I've never had old-tasting or overly greasy wings. Consistency matters, and they've been solid every time. Service / Timing: The ladies are always nice. The one without the glasses calls a lot of people "friend," which gives it a welcoming neighborhood feel. Orders come out in a reasonable time. Value: 6 wings and fries for $14 is a great value in today's prices. No complaints there. Highlight: Consistent. Wrap-Up: If you want dependable wings and fries without the extra hype, this spot gets it done. I've been rocking with them for over a year and haven't had a bad experience yet.
