My fiancé and I first tried La Condesa Eatery for one of our friends birthdays and it has quickly become one our go-to spots. The decor is modern with Spanish and Asian influence with some pop culture and the venue itself is very inviting. I mainly return here for their Spanish Octopus which is charcoal grilled adding to its unique flavor. I can't recommend the Spanish Octopus enough for anyone willing to try something new, delicious, and unique, I've brought several friends and family here just for this specific dish! For those who may be put off by the visuals of a tentacle, my fiancé usually enjoys their Potato Taquitos and 1855 Tri Tip Alambre Tacos which are both equally delicious. The staff are very friendly and observant we did not have to ask for refills on our beverages and they took empty dishes away swiftly. I'll be back for more of this delicious food and am excited for any more fusion inspired dishes that may be appearing in the future! read more

The ambiance is nice,.but it gets pretty loud in the restaurant even if people aren't really loud. It really echos inside. There is nice outdoor seating mostly shaded. Service was friendly no complaints there Overall food was not very flavorful.. too many flavor combinations trying to be fancy and for the prices of each dish I would not recommend this place. I saw it was on the yelp top 100 at one point..so I had wanted to check it out.. but it was very disappointing. A glass bottle of very warm water with the 2 smallest glasses with ice was brought to the table first. Ice is nice especially when its 100 degrees outside. But the glass was like a shot glass and with the water being so warm by the time we ordered our food all of the ice was melted which made that 1st glass of water cold which was a couple of gulp but then you're left with warm water. Food presentation was very beautiful. Taste of food wasn't anything you'd come back for. We ordered the mushroom raviolis.i expected a white sauce as it said creme sauce but it was a red sauce. It came with crispy potatoes which were very thinly sliced and fried potatoes and a citrus salad which was arugula and a very tasty dressing. There was maybe 5 raviolis not great..the red sauce is all you can taste some loose mushrooms around the raviolis in the sauce. The fried potatoes great in presentation ok in taste but I wish there was more potato in each bite. The arugula and dressing were the best thing I ate out of 4 dishes I tried. We also had the potato taquitos which I was looking forward to but it was very dense and the potato tasted like how a bad potato smells. Other than that it was very very bland. Nice crisp on the taquito. The gnocchi pasta dish was also no flavor. The sausage in it was good. 2nd favorite item was the slice of bread toasted on both sides. Our first time at La Condesa and we both enjoyed ourselves. Parking is tricky and the neighborhood is rife with homeless people. Once you walk through the gates everything changes. Décor is fun and bright and the staff was great. The food was mixed. The buratta appetizer was delicious and my burger was wonderful. My wife ordered the ravioli and it was just too busy. Like instead of just giving me a wonderful house made ravioli they were trying too hard to make it unique by covering it with a giant "herb" salad. It was weird and unnecessary. I could hear the people next to us and they were saying the same thing. I ordered a mango jalapeño cocktail and it was fantastic. My wifes drink had way too much lavender. Again, trying to hard to be unique and it ruined what would have otherwise been a great drink. All in all it was a nice dinner and we will probably come back again sometime. read more

Wow! We went to dinner for a friends birthday and La Condesa exceeded my expectations! We made a reservation online about 2 hours before we came, which was nice to get in that easily. Parking can be a bit difficult but it's midtown so that's to be expected. We were sat quickly, but the sun ended up being right in our eyes and our server noticed and moved us right away. We ordered the bao buns, fish tacos, octopus, ceviche and chips and salsa and everything was delicious and cooked perfect, especially the octopus. Have enjoyed Dinner here many times. With a very creative menu, featuring a nice variety to an upbeat casual atmosphere. This is the second time I had the ahi tuna tostada. Food was 5/5 for me but the service and ambiance was 2/5 so I'll settle on a 3 overall.. To start off with the good, I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and it was so good. I wasn't sure what to expect ordering such a simple meal at a gourmet restaurant but I was really happy with my choice. Chicken was great, veggies were fresh and a great portion, sauce was delicious, bun was nice and soft. And it came with a ton of fries that I wasn't even able to finish. My friend also got a beet salad that she shared with me and it was so good probably the best beet salad I've had. Now for the bad. The parking here is absolutely horrible. Part of me hates complaining about street parking because the restaurant really doesn't control that, but the other part of me can't understand why you would open a restaurant in a town with very low walkability/ public transport, in an area with no parking.... I had to park a few streets away, the streets had no sidewalks so I was forced to walk in the street, and overall felt unsafe walking by myself to the restaurant. For this alone, I probably wouldn't come back.... Second, we sat outside and there was live music playing and it was so loud we couldn't hear a single person at the table. We came for book club and we literally had to wait for the band to have a break and then quickly talk as fast as possible about the book before they started their next song. We specifically sat outside because we some of the girls at our meeting had been to La condessa before and said the acoustics inside are bad and it's loud and hard to hear. Last point being service. Pretty horrible service I was very disappointed. Took forever to get our orders. One order came out wrong but our friend ate it anyway. Two orders never came out at all. The staff had to be reminded to bring things out constantly. 3 of our party didn't get their ordered cocktails until half way through the dinner and about 35 minutes after the ordered them. The waitress seemed frazzled and kept saying sorry I'm busy, but then did nothing to rectify or put any extra attention to our table despite seeing over and over that she was failing. Not sure if this was an off night, outdoors didn't seem that busy. Maybe inside was busier im not sure. Overall was not impressed with the service and too loud to talk but if you come with a smaller party and want to listen to loud music, then it's probably a good spot for you. Came here for La Condesa's 4th anniversary party and finally understood all the hype with this place. Even though they were busy, the service was fast and friendly. The patio seating was perfect for enjoying live music on a warm evening. The dishes have some of the freshest ingredients and most complex flavors I've tasted in town - outshining many restaurants with significantly higher price points. The best thing is that there's something on the menu for everyone - fusion Italian, American, Latin, and Asian. The one thing I'd like to see in the future is a dedicated dance floor when there's live music - especially with the patio advantage. People started carving out their own dancing space anyway (and unintentionally blocked the view of the stage for others). It's worth noting that it's not easy to find parking in this area, so be sure to leave yourself plenty of time for street parking. read more

We ordered a beer and mojito... no draft beer and it was warm when I got it, mojito was average I was told. Had 2 appetizers, Tiger Prawn Arepa , 3 prawns (medium size) a top of a corn cake and salsa, Definitely order this, this was delicious. The other appetizer was the Potato Taquitos ... they were cooked perfectly , but honestly they really didn't have a whole lot of flavor. We ordered 2 more beers. Our waitress was very sweet but not attentive, brought us our check before we were done, needed exact change because her shift was over and said someone would take care of us if we wanted anything else. Fab food. They have a new meeting room or large party room. Had the short fib fried rice and was not as happy with it as I have in the past. It used to be a very large portion of rice. This time it was like 3/4 of a cup of rice with sliced beef ribs over it. The portion size was a dissappointment for the $29 price. While there was enough meat, they really skimped on the rice and c'mon, this is the cheapest part of the dish. I love the space of this restaurant, tucked into a little nook off Wells Ave. The menu has some interesting fusion oprions that actually land. I gambled on pasta and was pleasantly suprised. It was mostly veggies and odd non traditional flavors. The fish tacos were under seasoned and RAW. Let me say our server was completely RUDE. When I brought the raw fish taco to her attention, she said "well it's fish so it's not like you're going to get sick if you eat it raw". Although she comped this off our bill (rightfully so), I did not appreciate being told it'll be fine to eat something raw. That completely goes against health department standards. Everything we ordered was delicious. Started with the Tamarindo Rush--super tasty and refreshing. We shared a bunch of appetizers: potato taquitos, ceviche, pork belly bao buns, octopus, fries, plus chips and salsa. The potato taquitos were loaded and flavorful, the bao buns were a hit (my daughter loved the bun itself), and the octopus was incredibly tender--cooked perfectly. My husband and I both ordered the shrimp tacos. They looked delicious when they arrived. There was nothing served with the tacos, so $23 was a bit pricey. I'm sure we won't do this again. The tacos did need salt, which we had to ask for. It came in a cute little salt shaker, and for the size it was surprisingly easy to use. Meaning that the salt came out nicely. The tacos were extremely messy. They were so messy that we decided to bring most of them home. They're actually good cold. I've been to La Condensa several times, and the food is fantastic! This is my first time trying the ceviche, since I often get the mushroom tacos, but both are super flavorful. I also really love the Totopos as a tasty and unique appetizer, way better than just plain tortilla chips. The wait staff are friendly. We heard about their 4 year anniversary so we had to go. The service is exceptional and the food is outstanding. On this night, we had the chilaquiles and ceviche. I love how they make their chilaquiles sauce, especially on their homemade tortilla chips. Every ingredient in the ceviche was so fresh and rich. Bests my uncle's ceviche, La Condesa has outstanding ceviche! I've had other dishes at La Condesa and they've all been so good. I was a little surprised where La Condesa Eatery is located. I had read about it, been wanting to try it (especially after reading about it in a "best of Reno" article), and had obliviously driven by it many times! It's kind of tucked away with limited parking. The restaurant and patio are super cute! Apparently the building used to house an auto repair shop, complete with roll-up garage doors which face its patio today. It was a hot day, so I started off with a refreshing margarita on the rocks. We happened to arrive during their Happy Hour during which they offer $6 food specials, cocktails, and house wines from Monday through Thursday, 4-6 p.m. We ended up sampling several of the Happy Hour dishes including Caesar Salad, French Onion Mac & Cheese, Caccio e Pepe, and Totopos with Cheese & Crema. We probably liked the mac & cheese the best because it wasn't as heavy as it sounds and it had a nice flavor. Our server was friendly. Unfortunately my experience was not as positive as I thought it would be. We had called ahead and reserved a table for 15 people. When we arrived they said that there was no such reservation and we had to wait to get seated. It was nice to get seated in a private area, but we also had to wait for a long time before a server came in to check in on us. As for the food, I thought some dishes were good and others were just ok. The potato taquitos were definitely delicious and for my main entree, the short rib fried rice, was just ok. Even on a warm day, there is usually a breeze to keep it cooled off. The indoor seating is spacious and has a great fusion theme. A warm summer evening brought us back into the courtyard at La Condesa for a date night meal. Lucky us. From the setting, to the food, to the service was PERFECTION. We arrived hungry. And without a reservation again, yikes, but came in just before peak dinner service so we were stoked to be able to snag a table outside. We over-ordered. But mama didn't raise no quitter so of course we rose to the occasion. We had drinks - a Tamarindo Rush & a Bravo Old Fashioned - both stellar. Alina was super attentive and friendly . The place is beautiful, has plenty of seating and the food It is top notch- because I cannot find better words to describe it. This time we order the gambas al ajillo as appetizer and they were absolutely delicious not only where they super well seasoned but the salsa macha made them 1000% better. We ordered the ribeye tacos, which were very filling (aka Bien reportados - for my spanish speakers) and the ugly delicious burger; which was indeed very good looking and delicious. And I know nobody comments on the chips and salsa but as a true Mexican, I appreciate real totopos!! And I know those were made in house because they were thick and crunchy and just delicious! What a beautiful evening on the patio of La Condesa! I've been eyeing La Condesa for a while as it is one of the most consistently highest rated places on Yelp. They have several recognitions including being in the current top 100 US restaurants. We were seated quickly for a 6pm reservation and even though our res was for inside they let us sit on the wonderful courtyard patio. Our drink order and appetizer came out quickly and the food not long after that. We shared the tacos, one order of the shrimp and one order of the ribeye tacos. Both tacos were incredible, full of flavor, and very fresh. The ribeye meat was incredibly tender and so well seasoned. Both of the sauces that came with each dish were also perfectly paired. We finished the evening with the mango cheesecake flan. A perfectly light dessert that fresh tasting and super satisfying on a warm evening. I think pricing here is completely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. They also have some very unique dishes which are priced respectively. Let's start with the flavors--simply put, this is hands down the best restaurant in Reno. The tacos, the calamari, the bao... do not skip the bao. Even if you hate mustard, order them anyway. First off I want to say thank you to the wonderful server who asked me if it was my first time at this restaurant and who talk to me about recommendations on the menu. What a sweet lady. I've honestly never had a server that kind second up is the ambience! What a cool place. Music videos on TVs with really good music. Amazing art on the walls and beautiful furniture, the bar looks great, and there was some areas in the back to hang out that looked like they could be fun for big parties of people. Third and most important thing is the food! My goodness, the pork belly bao buns were one of the best tasting dishes I've had in a while. I just came back from a trip from Las Vegas and it was on par with the high end quality and taste of the food out there. I think the next time I go I'm just gonna order two of those ha ha. I also got the ugly delicious burger. And it sure wasn't ugly. It actually looks amazing and super tasty. I added a video of me cutting it open for those that were curious.
