Tuesday looks like the right time to be here! My buddy and I grabbed the daily deal, basic burger…read moreand three boneless wings for eight bucks. Guessing they aren't paying their staff much and waited quite a while for the kitchen to prepare our food during a seemingly slow lunch hour, but the one staff handling the entire dining room kept positive and moved quickly until it was time to checkout. The menu is huge! Many flavors, burgers, and of course wings, having achieved some embarrassing level of expert frequenting Buffalo Wild Wings was keen to sample the mango haberno here. They didn't put much sauce on the wings at all, perhaps in keeping with the restraints on chefs. We did enjoy the burger. A fantastic five dollar deal without wings, doing the usual toppings too, ya can't go wrong with a proper big boy American grill at half the price of the cheap chains. Fries looked fresh. My slaw had surprise crunch and flavor. Wings are definitely higher quality than the aforementioned, Applesbees, or even other local places. This is the classic good working class hangout which is bright and festive this week. Large bar area, lots of room, I can see why the parking lot loads up every weekend.

I ordered wings and it took over an hour to get my meal. Not sure I would recommend this place for…read moreanyone who wants food in a timely manner. Service wasn't bad but not my type of place.

Chicken was overcooked and felt like biting into rubber. Their oil must have been old and used,…read morebecause something was wrong with the smell and taste too. Threw out the food I ordered, wasn't able stomach it. Will unfortunately not be showing up here again. Service was good though.

Visited Harold's for the first time in a Saturday afternoon around 4pm…read more As you enter, it is noted that other than removing some tables from the dining room and changing some things where the bar used to be, it looks exactly the same inside as it did when it was Cozy Tavern. The same large mirrors are in the wall and the red vinyl booths still exist from the old bar. The plates that identified the location of the old beer wall remain, as well. There is no sign that says 'ORDER HERE' so you have to figure that part out by yourself. The staff member that eventually greeted us was polite and patient with us as she explained the menu. We were not sure about what sauces we wanted so she was able to give us a sample of the mild sauce. It tastes alot like Arby's sauce. We each ordered the 4 piece chicken tenders dinner that comes with fries, coleslaw, and a piece of bread. They have bottled drinks available such as soft drinks and PowerAde. A 20oz soft drink bottle costs $1.89. While we waited for our order, there were multiple people that showed up for Carry Out orders and they took multiple orders over the phone. Our food came out and in the sack included salt/pepper and a plastic fork/knife combo. There are napkins on the table butt no ketchup or other sauces. I looked, but did not ask, for ketchup and did not see it anywhere. Our chicken tenders portions were very large, thick and juicy. They are served on top of the fries and the bread. There was not a lot of sauce in the tenders n The slaw comes in a 2oz plastic cup. We both are two of our tenders and the fries. We saved the other two for a snack later because we were full. My wife wanted sauce to go for later. She asked the woman at the register and we were charge $0.55 for a cup to go. That seemed kind of much for sauce to go, but we paid it. Overall, the food was excellent and reheated well. An update to the inside of the restaurant is certainly needed, but other than the party of 10 that arrived to have a birthday party as we were leaving; most of the business was CARRY OUT. So far , Harold's has the best chicken tenders in townn

"Wanted a Home Run... Got Benched Instead"…read more I rarely visit Big League, but I gave it a shot yesterday after hearing about their pizza special -- two 14" two-topping pizzas for around $10.95 each. I called in my order: one pepperoni + green olives, one pepperoni + BBQ drizzle. The woman on the phone confirmed it exactly as I said. All seemed good. I showed up early to grab a drink and was excited to try a Trauma Llama Ding Dong from Teays River Brewing (which I specifically chose this spot for)... only to be told the draft system was down. Bummer #1. Not the end of the world, but still disappointing when it was part of my reason for picking Big League. Fast forward to me getting home, excited for pizza -- only to open the box and find black olives instead of green. I called back and asked, "Do you guys have green olives?" She shouted to the back, confirmed they did, then offered the world's flattest "oops." She said the system only lists "olives" without clarifying color. Well... then maybe mention that when someone specifically requests green olives? To be fair, I didn't raise a huge fuss, but I was genuinely disappointed. I'd driven across town, skipped my draft beer, and really had my hopes up for that salty green olive/pepperoni combo. The pizza itself? Decent. But the lack of attention to detail and the "oopsie teehee" attitude from staff didn't leave me eager to come back. Big League? You might wanna tighten up the lineup. Service matters, and little things like draft beer and correct toppings go a long way. Edit: I had a little more fun with this version because... well, laughter is therapy. Enjoy -- "Big League... Minor League Vibes." Decided to give Big League a try because they had a decent pizza deal -- two 14" two-topping pies for like $11 each. Sounds like a win, right? I called in my order: * One pepperoni with green olives * One pepperoni with BBQ drizzle The gal on the phone repeated it back perfectly. I was optimistic. That was my first mistake. I drive clear across town (I don't live close) because I'd heard their pizza was good and they serve Teays River beer on draft. Specifically went in hoping for a pint of Trauma Llama Ding Dong -- yes, that's really the name and yes, I wanted it in my hand. Walked in and was hit with: "Ohhh sorry, our draft system is down." No trauma llama. Just trauma. Still trying to salvage the mood, I take my bottled consolation beer and head home with my pizzas... only to open the box and be greeted by... black olives. Not the green ones I asked for. Not the green ones she confirmed on the phone. Just a sad, briny disappointment staring back at me. So I call, and I'm like, "Hey, do y'all have green olives?" She yells across the kitchen: "Do we have green olives?" Then goes, "Yeah we do -- we just have to cut 'em up ourselves." OH OK COOL COOL COOL, so you had them... just not where they needed to be -- ON MY PIZZA. Her excuse? "Well our system just says 'olives.' It doesn't say what kind." Girl. Giiiiiirl. If your ordering system is vague and I'm being specific, maybe mention that? Maybe don't serve me a surprise topping roulette? I didn't order a mystery pizza. This ain't the Olive Lottery. The worst part? She gave me that high-pitched "oh noooo, sowwy heehee" energy like she was trying out for a Disney Channel reboot instead of owning the mistake. Bottom line: I wanted draft beer and green olives. I got a bottled beer and a black olive betrayal. The pizza wasn't bad -- just not what I asked for. And I'm not mad... just mildly unhinged and writing Yelp reviews to cope. Big League? More like Little Effort. Get it together, y'all.
