Overall, it was a good experience but the road to success was not an easy one. I purchased a groupon for the silk flare lashes for $47 (it was my 1st time so I wasn't really aware of the difference between these and individual extensions.) Now that I now that these are just like the clutter lashes from the beauty supply store or Ulta that can be installed for $15 (idk if its the same material) my conclusion is she's taxing but....hey. I kept it cool though because like I said I didn't do my research so I didn't get upset. I originally booked my appt. for yesterday at 6pm BUT I needed to reschedule for something earlier so that morning around 8:30am I went online and did just that for 2pm. I arrived at 2:05pm and the door was locked! Signed sealed delivered. I called her no answer. Called again she said the lash tech must've not known I was still coming (even though i was only 5minutes late and NO ONE was inside) and she only had 5pm open. I said that was still pushing it so she said she would call me back but I got a text around 4:15 saying 5:30 is now the earliest b/c she let someone else book the 5pm....yea makes no sense. Since my phone was dying and I really had nothing to do for the time i just waited inside because one of her employees was finally there and she had great convo btw (she does vaginal steaming!!). Charli showed up and realized who I was and took me after helping someone with a wax. She offered me 20% a wax if i wanted to come back but honestly idk. The customer service and misleading groupon left a sour taste in my mouth. Only time will tell now maybe they can win me back... - signed, I'm torn. Side note to Charli I would probably change your scheduling system so that it doesn't allow appointments to be booked so close to the time. My lashes looked great and lasted over two weeks... treated myself for my birthday it was not only affordable but high quality products and service I got a mini wax below the belt and was happy with results, K made me comfortable and I was able to relax. I bought a Lifebooker deal for 3 Brazilian waxes at an extremely attractive price. I should've known you get what you paid for... Making an appointment was almost impossible. I tried calling, but no one answered. I called again and left a voicemail. I also went on the website and saw that CharLi had a pretty neat scheduling system set up. Everything was simple until the very last step where my credit card information was needed to book the appointment. This confused me, since I had already paid for the services, so I didn't go through with the booking. (CharLi later explained that your credit card information was needed so the online scheduling system can hold your reservation. She charges $25 for cancellations that are less than 24 hours before the appointment). Instead, I sent her a message through her website. A week passed and I received no response from her. I called again. Nothing. Frustrated, I contacted Lifebooker and they were finally able to get a hold of her! Sigh. I FINALLY set up my appointment after what felt like a lot of unnecessary effort on my part. I've bought plenty of waxing deals from Lifebooker before and knew that they supported a lot of small businesses. However, I was caught off guard when the directions to CharLi's took me to a residential area? In fact, the "salon" is inside a bungalow behind a house that is rented out as apartments. There was was sign on the front door of the property that read: "CharLi is NOT here. Try the backyard." A bit off-putting, if you ask me... In the end, I did not receive any services from CharLi because I thought I was going to a salon, but CharLi Beauty Bar did not meet those expectations. Beware of the advertised "silk lash extensions". They are actually the same cluster lashes that you could get done at a nail shop for $20 but the prices she is charging are outrageous. False advertising in my opinion when you don't specify that they are cluster lashes. I never would have booked an appointment for that service if it was properly listed on her website. Whatever glue is being used is not safe for lashes nor does it dissolve with oil. It is incredibly irritating to the eye & am still having issues weeks after the application. I have been getting quality individual lash extensions for over 3 years now & have never had such a horrible experience. I have been trying to safely dissolve with oil & eye makeup remover for a week now just so I don't rip out all of my natural lashes with no luck. Stay away from the "silk lash extensions" to avoid the headache. read more

Finally redeemed SUPER-expired Groupon credit before my bachelorette weekend and so glad I did! It was easy to book online and I was able to get in same day for a Brazilian AND brow clean up. I was a little nervous because the area it's in seemed a little deserted for a Thursday evening, but Charli's salon is so cute inside and she is just a delight to chat with. Brazilians can be a little uncomfortable but she made me feel right at home. I also thought her prices were very reasonable for waxing services in LA. Tips: It was easy to find an open parking meter along the street around 4:45pm and still looked pretty open when I was leaving around 5:30pm on a Thursday. I was excited to try this place since it's a convenient location and Charli has such great reviews for her Brazilian service but my experience left me so disappointed that I have no desire to come back. I purchased the Groupon deal and scheduled my appointment ahead of a vacation but was never actually seen by Charli due to her scheduling conflicts. The morning of my appointment she asked to move it 25 mins later (from 7:05 to 7:30pm) which I agreed to. However, once I arrived at 7:30, she told me it would be 15 more minutes until she would be ready for me?? Then after waiting until nearly 8pm, Charli was still in with an earlier client so I had to leave. I texted her that I left and she apologized and offered a complimentary wax when I return from vacation but that defeats the purpose of why I scheduled my appointment to begin with. First off... service is exceptional. I purchased a waxing voucher on Groupon. This beauty bar is soooo cute they have several private rooms with those cool sliding barn type doors and the interior decorations are just very classy and clean. You feel very comfortable there. CharLi is super nice and very gentle! I was so nervous to go but she is so sweet I felt at ease very quickly with her! She even gave me great tips on how to moisturize and continue to take care of my face. And I thought it would take a long time but it was over before I knew it. I'm glad to have found such a nice place in my neighborhood where the prices are great and the customer service and general care of your well being are phenomenal. CBB is tucked away in the Pico West area. It's an up and coming area but struggling to gain traction. There are lots of interesting spaces, from Jamaican food to clothes, if you know them already. CBB is one of those places. It's cute and clean inside and owned by a lovely, friendly person. She is well versed in lash extensions if you want to try new things. I will definitely be returning for my eye lash extensions. It was my first time here and I was pretty comfortable. There was parking around the corner. However, my only gripe is that the neighborhood is sketch. I wish the owners on that block would take responsibility for cleaning it up. Obviously, you have to care about that. I love how easy it is to book your appointments online. Upon arrival there was clear signage and metered street parking wasn't a hassle at all. Inside was a clean, warm, intimate and professional space. Being punctual, helpful and informative the customer service was great. My last service was a Brazilian wax. Charli offered an organic, less painful wax for sensitive skin, which I REALLY appreciated. While this service could easily be impersonal and awkward, with Charli it wasn't. I felt comfortable and good conversation made it go by easier. I will surely be back. read more

I don't really go to the trouble of reviewing but I'm so irritated by today that I felt compelled to do so. I had no idea that it was in a residential area...but okay, whatever, that's fine. My appointment was for 1:15 pm. I got there with 5 minutes to spare. No one answered the door so I waited about 5 minutes past my appointment time. Knocked again...nothing. Called...goes to a google phone and then voicemail. Left a message. Nothing. After 12 minutes of waiting, I called again and sent an email...still nothing. I wasted my time driving there and back on my lunch hour for absolutely nothing. A simple phone call out of courtesy would have been appreciated if there was some reason she could not have made it. I found this place on Groupon deal and had a great experience. It was very easy to book via the online site. I had to reschedule my appt to a later time the day prior and she was very accommodating. The new location is a storefront with several rooms. Clean and professional appearing. The waxing was efficient and super fast. Charli is super sweet and made me feel comfortable. She uses a honey wax I think. It wasn't too hot on the skin. She also made a point to pluck any ingrowns at the end which was nice touch. She also uses a calming lotion afterwards. I've had quite a few Brazilian waxes (strip AND sugar) done in my life and none of them have been as PAINLESS as Charli's...seriously! I never thought I'd put "painless" and "Brazilian wax" in the same sentence. What ever she's doing, she's doing it right. She makes me feel comfortable and at home in her little waxing studio, like I'm just hanging out with a girlfriend or something. She's usually playing an R&B/hip-hop music, which I like, personally. The business location is moving soon, but for now, keep in mind that the studio is in a residential area off of Fairfax behind an apartment building that looks like a house. I tried a few other waxing spots, before I found a Groupon with Charli. Now I've been going to Charlie for over 6 months because no one can top the work she's doing. It never feels like she's rushed to finish and you leave with a very smooth waxed area. She does the wax and makes sure to pluck any star hair, and also helps me with my ingrown hair that I have a tendency to get . Her prices are very reasonable. At first I was skeptical about her appt booking website, but it works great for scheduling. She's recently decided to move locations, but I'm sure her new location will be great. She makes sure you're comfortable while you get the work done. With the music in the background and conversation, I definitely look forward to seeing her (i know it sounds crazy to hear for a wax). I've tried Brazilians at many places, and CharLi is one of the best! Here's why: - The cream wax she uses works really well for me. Of course it hurts, but not too bad. I'm able to go about 5 weeks max between waxes. - She's meticulous and spends several minutes plucking out missed hairs and ingrowns. - She uses hygienic practices by wearing gloves and using a new little cup of wax for each client. - I love that you can schedule appointments online - it's a lot easier than playing phone tag. First of all I waited 10 minutes outside till someone opened the door, then she did somebody else's eyelashes before me although I had an appointment and that girl arrived after me and I told her I have to be at my doctors after here! And I specifically asked for natural looking eyelashes and even my eyes are not similar! The girl, not Charlie (even though Charlie was aware of the situation and knew what type of eyelashes I was coming in for via text confirmation/she didn't help at all and was rude herself) , one of her other workers that I had an appointment with arrived 8 minutes late to my 1:00pm appointment; While I had arrived at 12:25pm. Just like that other reviewer said, the door was closed and I had to wait outside for 15 minutes knocking and calling, until finally someone answered the door. This girl was very unprofessional. I don't care to have conversations with people when I'm getting a facial, eyelashes, manicure. I'm tired and you, the 'Pro', should tap into or read that. It's important to be able to read the vibe of people. She talked her head off for the ENTIRE TWO HOURS & HALF. She literally said to me half way "do people expect me to sit here and be quiet? No, it's boring I want to talk". Then be a radio show host honey, I'm not paying you $145 or whatever to be extremely uncomfortable and annoyed by you. Oh yeah, AND she went over the appointment time by 30 minutes. Then when it came time to pay, she had no change and had me follow her from shop to shop (literally we went into three shops around that business for change) to get it. Very uncomfortable and very unprofessional. They are charging Hollywood/Westwood/Malibu prices and you're not getting the generally classy service that comes with it. Don't go here. If anyone wants to ask me more about my experience there is more for me to share, more details and more bullshit that's very outrageous; but for now I feel this should get my point across. Good luck. P.s: the quality of the lashes didn't last for more than 6/7 days, and I've had my lashes done PLENTY of times in the past by a range of different places and professionals, I know how to take care of my lashes, probably cause she wasn't focused on doing a good job and kept messing around and talking why it came out sloppy and poor.
