Amazing Amazing experience!!!! Now I understand why Charlie is always fully booked. I'd seen Charlie's work on a friend of mine and had flown into Atlanta in December without booking an appointment in advance, I'd figured being there for a week, surely he'd have an opening at some point throughout the week but he didn't and so I went to another shop (which shall remain unnamed but begins with a T)...BIG MISTAKE! I ended up getting the worst, most painful, annoyingly slanted, keloid producing, blob of ink splatter that I have ever seen in my life. I was soooooooo unhappy with it and immediately wanted to get it removed but I needed it to heal first, so I waited and hoped it would grow on me but it didn't. Anyway, fast forward to February, I came back into Atlanta and went to see Charlie and showed him the mess that had been done to me and he had mercy on me and gave me an appointment on his day off to fix the mess. He was so patient with me, took his time to discuss my options with me and reassure me that we would end up with something that I would love and be happy with, we texted back and forth, sharing pictures and ideas for days before my appointment. On the day of the appointment, he took his time to sketch out different options on me like a true artist and made sure I was completely comfortable with what I was getting before he started putting any ink on me. Unlike the previous guy, Charlie actually LISTENED and wasn't so abrupt and short. He took his time and ensured I left there happy and satisfied and I really really was and still am. There is no better place in Atlanta,GA to get a tattoo and here is why.....I came to Charlie with a poorly designed foot tattoo. It was supposed to be cherry blossoms but it looked like CRAP and the original artist misspelled the scripture underneath the flower. It was so bad that my friends began to call me "Fuggly foot" but thanks to Charlie CU-TATTOO I was able to bring sexy back. Charlie was so kind over the phone as I explained my dilemma. He even asked me to send him photos of the original design so that he could brainstorm a new look for me. He was very honest and walked me though the entire process. When I arrived to the shop everyone was friendly. The shop was clean and I observed them following OSHA guidelines when working with clients. But Charlie's work exceeded all my expectations it is neat,beautiful and orginal. I get compliments all the time. If I ever decide to get a another tattoo he is the ONLY person that I will allow to do it. I trust him and I would recommend this shop to anyone in search of a artist. Charlie was the only artist who replied to my message on Instagram, he called me and spent 10-15 minutes talking about my ideas. We exchanges so many pictures and messages to come up with a solid piece. He was booked 3-4 months out but still took the time to answer all my questions. Charlie came highly recommended from a friend. I was looking for a B&White/Grey Scale piece done in a traditional American style and he did not disappoint. Amazing work! Great detail. I get genuine compliments often on his particular pieces (I have 4, 2 were done by Charlie). He took the time to sit down with me and draw out an original piece with my initial concept. He nailed it perfectly and even improved it by making honest suggestions. Never rushed me or tried to "sell me" just to make money. Great guy with lots of talent. This is MY BODY and I don't trust "discount tattoo artists." A "cheap tattoo" is a cheap looking tattoo. We all know at least 2 idiots parading around with a large tat that looks like a 5 year old tatted it on: Sloppy line-work, shading and everything disproportional and uneven. Don't be that Douchebag! Charlie is an awesome tattoo artist. I came to Charlie about a year ago. I wanted him to cover a tattoo that my dermatologist was unsuccessful at completely removing. What started off as a simple cover-up on my thigh turned into a full leg sleeve. Since then, Charlie has also done tattoo work on half of my back. I recently moved away from Atlanta, but I am flying back specifically to get a half sleeve on my arm. I interviewed six tattoo artists before settling on Charlie for the cover up job. Outwardly I'm very conservative-looking and I was not taken seriously by the other tattoo artists that I interviewed. Charlie took me seriously, asked a lot of questions, and I can say that my tattoos have truly been a collaborative effort. Many artists just want you to pick out a picture from a book and tattoo it on your body. Charlie's work is so much more than that. I have never posted a Yelp review before, but for my boy Charlie, I will make an exception. Charlie is hands down the best/most experienced tattoo artist I have ever had any dealings with. Not only is Charlie's style very unique and great, but his personality also plays a huge role in the experience. Charlie is not your typical arrogant asshole tattoo artists. He does a good job of keeping your idea in mind while applying his artistic ability. Specifically, I had a St.Michael tattoo done by Charlie, and it's one of the best I have ever seen ( not biased at all). Also, not to mention the sanitary aspect of this shop. Charlie is a clean freak, and I guarantee you this will be the cleanest experience possible. I met with a few different tattoo artists before choosing to go with Charlie. Out of 3 artists, he was the only one who really took time to look at what I was wanting and to show me how it would work and look on body. I had a small 4 leaf clover that I wanted covered up. I was very open to whatever the artist thought would be best for a coverup. Charlie was able to listen to what I wanted and how I wanted it to flow with my body. He went over several ideas with me until I found one that I loved. During the tattoo he was cool, easy to talk to, and when it started hurting, he ignored my cry baby screams and continued on with the tattoo (which is what I wanted). He did let me take breaks as needed. Three Alliance location was clean & comfortable. The tattoo turned out beautiful and I couldn't be more pleased with it. I decided to get my first half sleeve done by Charlie after being referred to him by one of my good friends who had majority of his work done by Charlie! After seeing all the great line, shading and color work i knew Charlie was the guy for the job! Charlie has an extremly creative mind. All i did was gave him a qoute i wanted and him came up with the rest! He completly free handed my first half sleeve done by him and i was blown awat with the results! Charlie is a very professional and talented tattoo artist. I was recommended by two of my friends whom Charlie tatted. One had gotten their neck tatted, while the other got their whole sleeve tatted. He was very professional and patient when I first contacted him. We talked briefly about what I wanted to get and set up an appointment right away. Charlie helped me get a half sleeve with lotus flowers, a turtle, and a frog. I couldn't be more happier with the results. He always makes sure you are satisfied with his art work. Returned to Charlie Cu tattoos yesterday for my first session on my sleeve tattoo. Before my session Charlie maintained good communication as to better create my unique piece of art. During the session Charlie did an amazing job and maintained that communication which allows you to sit back and trust in his work. The session lasted a good 3.5 hours and was a very pleasant experience. The amount of detail and precision that went into this session, outlining, was amazing. I'm really glad fate led me to Charlie's shop. I've been around the tattoo industry in Orange County California since 1979 and When I called them, a Charlie set me up with a Kenny and an hour later I was getting my tattoo. I don't recommend attempting same day appointment requests because 99.9% of the time it won't happen. The vibe and general feel of being welcomed and appreciated was overwhelming! Charlie is amAzing!!! Designed a custom piece and I couldn't be more pleased with how it came out!! He made sure that I was in love with it every step of the way. His artistic ability is definitely better than most and you're able to see that in his work.
