I had an absolutely lovely experience with Emily Wynne (She goes by Wynningtattoos), at this shop. The shop is tucked into a strip mall and is near a dog training place? You'll hear the puppy borks before going it. I thought it was cute. It is nice and clean there, and I had no issues getting checked in. I am not from Atlanta, but I really liked Emily's style and was going to be in ATL for a concert. I sent her what I wanted, a simple palm sized symbol I wanted on my hip, and she showed me a couple of designs. I picked one and we were quick to get started. She had no problems repositioning my stencil after I changed my mind. It was exactly how you want your appointment to go. In addition to being super communicative and easy to work with, she had the lightest hands I've ever experienced. Easy line pulls and as little pain I've ever felt. It was almost magical. My boyfriend recommended me this shop since he got a couple of his tattoos done here before. After taking a look at Tez work on Instagram (@cosmic_cap) I decided that I wanted to get my first tattoo with him and I'm not disappointed at all. I stopped by the shop and described what I wanted. He gave me a price which I have to say it's better than all the places I asked around before, and then we proceeded to make an appointment. There's a $50 deposit for the appointments but it goes toward your tattoo final price. Tez was awesome. He was very gentle and made sure I didn't freak out at first. My tattoo took about 4 hours while my boyfriends only 1 hour. He made sure we got breaks in between and everything else we needed. I even got to watch my favorite movie while I was there (mulan, lol). He did an incredible job with my design. I wanted to get sunflowers, and the Death Eater Mark from Harry Potter at the same time. I know I sounded crazy for a lot of people but that's what I wanted and it came out great. Most of my boyfriends tattoos are anime related so it's also great that he knows about all this stuff. He's tattooed on him the cursed mark from Naruto and Ban's Fox from Seven Deadly Sins. The store in general is amazing. As soon as you step in you can see all the trophies they've won as well as fantastic wall art. This shop is also EXTREMELY clean. Like wow. I'm never going anywhere else. Okay, so after almost 8 years of contemplating my next tattoo, yesterday I had an impulsive moment and decided to pull the trigger. And when I mean impulse, meaning I decided and called Golden Anchor Tattoo and was there within the hour. When I called the staff was very pleasant and I spoke to an artist (who I now know as Tez) about doing a walk in for a fairly simple Zodiac tattoo. Be aware that they do take walk-ins but I recommend calling ahead because these artists are all amazing and more than likely have appointments scheduled. Upon entering the establishment I noticed the many awards and how CLEAN it was. Not to mention everyone was professional, and aside from the buzzing noise of the tattoo gun it was almost.... peaceful. and that's when I knew that I was in the right place. Honestly, shout out to Tez. He was super helpful, super patient and worked with me to execute my mini vision. I only have one other tattoo, and it's not a super big piece, so at one point I was worried about size. I appreciated his recommendations and he was happy to help me get the stencil to the size I wanted. The actual tattoo didn't take too long, and let's be real: nobody comes to get a tattoo expecting an absolutely painless process. But when I tell you Tez's hand isn't too heavy and he makes you feel comfortable throughout. He's really quite nice LOL. Overall I had a wonderful experience at Golden Anchor, and I love my tattoo. Little confused and quite honestly hurt.. but maybe I'm overthinking. A couple months ago I wanted another tattoo done by Emily because I loved her work and my tattoo looked amazing and I still love it. The website says she still worked there so I proceeded to email her again to book another tattoo appointment with her. And she never responded. I waited for a week because I know artists can get super busy, but she just never responded. Same thing happened to my friend who I recommended this place to. And she went to Emily also, she got one tattoo done with Emily and then my friend wanted another tattoo with Emily and Emily never responded. I wanted to call the shop and ask if I did something wrong to piss her off? I tipped well and it was my first tattoo so I was obviously nervous but she did an amazing job. BEST PLACE EVER! I have walked into the shop multiple times within the last two months and every time I leave I'm beyond impressed and happy. I did a lot of research on the top tattoo shops in the Atlanta area and after weeks of stalking I was so happy with my choice that I got a second tattoo a month and half later and my fiancé even went to the same artist to get his done 3 weeks after my initial one. Now a few of our friends are making plans to come to the same place to get a piece done. Tez was our artist and we absolutely love him. We're even thinking about making a special trip back so my fiancé can get his second one done. EVERYONE that works inside the shop has phenomenal talent. A lot of the artist were booked months or weeks in advance so I wouldn't wait last minute but you definitely get what you paid for and it's worth the wait! Cosmic Cap did my last tattoo in GA for me, my sister and God sister/ cousin. We wanted to get matching tats to signify our bond. I didn't want to just put anything on me. They suggested stars, hearts (No and hell No)I thought for awhile and came up with something of meaning. We come from a long line of strong women and my Great Grandmother was a Tiano woman. She was super strong, raised 12 children and grandchildren. She was super strict but crazy loving. The type to beat you for refusing your food but take plates and coats to random homeless people because she felt so bad for them. She migrated to America from Puerto Rico so she wasn't really an immigrant being that PR is commonwealth of the USA. However, she knew no English only Spanish and came up here with $3.50 and 3 kids by herself. She never went on public assistance. She taught herself and her children English and whatever she needed to happen she made it happen! Inspirational to say the least. Tiano images popped in my head and I recalled how much she loved the Coqui (PR tiny frog) I googled a few images and found the perfect Tiano Coqui. They loved the idea and we took it to this shop. They priced it at $70 a piece and my sister and I got Tez. My Godsister had another artist. A lady that I can't recall her name. Tez was Dope. His swag style and convo was on point. True southern gentleman charm. My sister and him were talking music and art and when he tatted me we talked life and growing pains. His transparency was beautiful. His work was skilled and quick. We got black and white tats but next time I visit my God sister, I am going back to throw a water color backsplash on my tat. I'll be looking forward to working with him again. read more

Tez was awesome! Keep in mind people that you cannot always walk-in and expect to be able to get a tattoo right away, especially if it requires sketching and tweaking. Tez was booked for the week, so I was able to schedule for the Monday after. There's a $50 deposit to book an appointment, and it goes towards your final payment. When I got there, he got to me right away! He made some final sketch adjustments, pasted the outline on my arm, and then got started. It was a pretty smooth process. He took about 2 very short breaks during the 3 hour time-frame. It was $100/hr so $300 for a rose piece on my upper arm that's probably about 5-6 inches long and wide, with color. I recommend bringing earphones so you can listen to music or watch netflix while you sit back. I'll definitely be back to add some more with Tez! read more

It was my first time there, my friend recommended I check out their shop! Emily was amazing! She really made sure I was comfortable with the way I was sitting while getting tattooed. We were tucked away in a little room and they had a television that they allowed me to control. Felt like a dental visit but had a blast anyways! If I could give this place 10 stars I would. First of all, this tattoo shop is CLEAN. Like, you could eat off the floor clean. If you're neurotic like I am, you will love this place. Second of all, the owner Theo is not only an incredibly humble and intelligent guy, but he is a mind-blowing artist. He takes his time, making sure his tattoos are perfect. But the thing I think I appreciate most about Theo is that he isn't the walking ego that you find in a lot of really talented tattoo artists. I asked him to tweak a part of the font in my tattoo and it didn't phase him or upset him at all. Not only did my husband and I get two ULTRA reasonably-priced tattoos that we love today, but we sincerely enjoyed the time we spent with Theo. We were using these small pieces to see how we liked Theo, and now we are both talking about doing huge back pieces. There is no better testament than that! He made what felt like would be an uncomfortable experience a wonderful one. My man Theo did an excellent job on my tattoo. He made it look even better than the design that I picked out. It was my first tat, and he was super professional and made the process so easy. The salon itself is super clean, and you even get to watch either a movie or youtube on the ipads that they provide. Thats a very nice touch and it makes the time go by extremely quick. My wife had been fantasizing about a tattoo she wanted for YEARS but because it was her first tattoo there was a lot of fear and hesitation to make that first step. So, this year, for her birthday, I decided that I'd set her up with a tattoo appointment as a surprise. Now, this plan of mine could've turned out VERY badly for many different reasons but thank goodness I found Golden Anchor Tattoos! A week before my wife's birthday, I started sending messages to various tattoo parlors, some of them responded and some did not. But as soon as I contacted Golden Anchor, the owner of the shop, Theo, responded within minutes! From reading reviews, I noticed that Golden Anchor was a very new establishment (having just opened in March 2016) which made me slightly nervous. I wanted someplace that had a long, tried and true reputation for my wife's first tattoo. But, I decided to check out the review they did have and to check out their designs on Instagram and I was very impressed! However, the thing that really stuck out to me was the quick response I got from Theo and the thorough way in which he answered all my questions. He gave me an appointment time on the day I chose and he even gave me his personal cell number so that I could ask any other questions I had before the appointment. That kind of customer service goes an incredibly long way. I also loved the fact that he wasn't shy about quoting me a price so that I could know exactly what to expect. I realize this can sometimes be tricky when it comes to artwork and I won't expect it every time but for this small and simple tattoo there was no need to beat around the bush and I appreciated that. When we arrived, my wife's eyes nearly popped out of her head; she had no idea I'd planned this and her nerves immediately started to get the best of her before we even made it out of the car. I did my best to reassure her that there was nothing to be worried about and I hoped that I was right. Once we entered the shop, we were greeted by another artist and then joined by Theo who already had my wife's sketches done and ready for her to view. Even though I'd told what my wife wanted beforehand (to the best of my memory), he went ahead and had about five slightly different designs drawn out so that she would have options. I thought that was absolutely GREAT! Once she chose what she wanted, Theo disappeared for about five minutes so that he could sketch it to her specifications. While we waited for him, we sat in the clean, comfy waiting room and watched part of a Netflix documentary on Muhammad Ali (very ironic since he passed away today, almost exactly one week later. RIP to the GREATEST!). Once the sketch was done, it was time to get started. Once again, the work area was very clean and sterile and Theo took time to wipe everything down making sure that everything was sanitized. What I loved most about the tattoo area was that there were tablets available for customers to watch while the artist works if they so choose. The tablets sit in an adjustable stand so that the customer can move it around if need be. How cool! The walls were covered in beautiful artwork and I enjoyed looking at it all. While Theo worked on my wife we chatted a bit...I have a feeling he was trying to distract her by keeping her talking and it worked like a charm. He also told us a little about his experience and where the name Golden Anchor Tattoo comes from (he wanted a classic name that could stand the test of time and also the anchor is one of the most popular symbols in tattoo art and has been for many years). My wife said she hardly felt any pain during the whole "procedure" and that Theo was very gentle. Once he was done, we paid a very reasonable price and my wife left extremely satisfied with her very first tattoo. All and All, both the shop, and the owner Theo, really exceeded my expectations. He went above and beyond to ensure that my surprise went off well and that my wife's first tattoo was a pleasant experience. I hope as the shop undoubtedly becomes more popular, they will keep their same standards of cleanliness, speed, professionalism, affordable pricing, beautiful artwork and great customer service. I will be back to get my second tattoo very soon and my wife--the tattoo virgin until just recently--is ALREADY contemplating where she wants her next TWO! I'm giving 2 stars for the work I saw online and the quick response of the business. However from the start things weren't going right with the artist I chose. I actually had to email the business twice because there was no response from the artist to make sure they gave me the correct info. I'm a nurse and I work night shift so I value my daylight hours more than most. Scheduling a consultation would have been quite easy if the artist was able to communicate productively. If your in a session (idk if he was but just saying) wait til it's finished to communicate waiting a day, 2, 3 or 4 hours between text is a bit extra just to set up a consultation. Then the day of consultation stating less than an hour before meeting I'm not at the shop is extremely unprofessional. I live an hour away But at another appt so I just wasted time til he got back to me. I was able to meet with the artist 3 hours later we had about a 10 min consultation. He changed a major piece of the tattoo. Idk if he felt he couldn't do it or what but I started to feel like it wasn't going to work. The vibe was bad but I put a $40 deposit down just in case I could see his image later because I wanted the piece done badly and ASAP. However the more I thought about it and talked it over I decided it was best to go somewhere else. It wasn't the price because I'm now paying double per session to get exactly what I asked for and a different level of professionalism from the start. It was completely about the piece, respect, and professionalism. This is permanent and to large to make mistakes. He could have passed to another artist in the shop and I would have been ok with that it happens. Also I was asking for a large piece but I was giving artistic freedom to the details so I would have understood if he passed. This isn't the first artist I've talked to but it's definitely the first and only shop I have to leave a negative review about because this could have been avoided and my time would not have been wasted. My advice is to have a shop manager to follow up on all inquiries customer service goes a long way. read more

I was SO scared since this was my first tattoo. Theo asked me what I was looking for and I told him I'm looking for a finger initial tattoo. He stated he doesn't do finger tattoos so I opted for my other choice which was an OM symbol on my wrist. I emailed him the image I found online and he stenciled it on. The first time it wasn't placed in the middle so he erased it and placed it on again. I'm giving it a 4 star because the music was way too loud and I was exposed in the room to another tattoo artist who was tattooing another woman.
