I don't normal write reviews so when I do it won't just be "Great place". I work in the area and pass by this shop often. At first I paid it no mind but when I someone dented my parked car I started to shop around. Took be a year to get to it but as I passed by I saw how wrecked allot of car where going in and how pristine they looked coming out. Then I observed how clean and organized the shop is and how they do the repairs like a production run. That means ever person is excellent at what they do. So after getting a few estimates I went with them because their prices were competitive. I dropped my car of on a Wednesday first thing, Was called one hour later with the final price and was told it would be ready Friday Possible Saturday. They called me a few times to keep me updated which is really nice but I was surprised when just one day later, they told me I could pick it up that day if I wanted to. So I agreed and when I got there it was parked by the garage exit ready to go. WOW. I have never gotten my car detailed but I also never had a car cleaned the way they did. It felt like I was taking a new car home. Wish I could add a picture here. I know NY has a reputation for some subpar shops our shady business practice but this is not one of them. read more

These guys are terrific.Its hard for me to believe the service I received.Not only did they repair my damage but they threw in, for free,the repairs for some old damage that was next to it which I had tried to repair myself. Plus they waxed and detailed it. It's a 2008 Miata and it now looks better than when I bought it 5 years ago.This was all done in less than a week. We recently brought our car to Charlie's to repair a window that has been problematic for quite a while. Knowing other repair attempts were made, they replaced just about everything that makes the window work and was able to get the insurance company to foot the bill. Their man Jason was very polite and professional. I had to leave the car for a few days, and had hoped to get it back before the weekend and I did. Jason texted often on progress and when it was ready to pick up, I told him it would take me a while to get to them by public transit and walking and he offered to have one of his guys drive it back to my neighborhood - that was unexpectedly fantastic! and saved me a good portion of my day. Great service. The terrible damages my car sustained disappeared entirely after 10 days at this hidden auto collision gem of a spot. They really show they care about and give "hand holding attention" which I truly appreciated after my collision. They helped me with my insurance and even called Enterprise to set up my rental for me. They offered me bottled water as I filled out some forms. I will definitely come back here for my collision repairs. The costs are fair and all I had to pay was my deductible. I am probably one of the worst type of customers to satisfy when it comes to anything with my car. I am obsessive, particular, and beyond detail oriented (at least I admit it, right?). I was recommended to Charlie's by a friend who is equally obsessive and they blew me away! Aside from the great work that they do, the customer service is superb. This place is a powerhouse that is filled with all types of cars and even exotics! Yeely and Pete were sure to answer every one of very many phone calls and every single question I had. Terrible work place, very controlling environment. Learn to treat your employees with respect and decency, not just your clients to show face. Constantly calling employees to complain in an office full of managers to embarrass people, stop treating them like kids to boost your ego. Owner (Peter) has a power issue, control freak, toxic work environment. Clients should look for places where ALL employees are valued and respected as the adults that they are. Do better owners. My catalytic converter was stolen while I was visiting New York back in October. I was unable to drive 2 hours home to my trusted mechanic, but Charlie's was well-reviewed and recommended to me by my insurance company, Geico. They were great to work with- very professional and kind. Unfortunately the repair was botched. I got home and saw that the check engine light came on. I called Charlie's back and was told that's "normal" after catalytic converter repairs and that my car was safe/fine to continue driving- basically that I'd just have to live with the check engine light on. Since they'd been so helpful with the repair, I trusted them and just kept living my life. I did also notice some new thunks/rumbling when starting my car, but again just figured that was the deal after a replaced cat converter on a 14 year old car. Last week I brought my car to my local mechanic for its annual inspection and was told it couldn't pass the emissions test with the check engine light on (triggered by the oxygen sensor). They took everything apart to replace the sensor ($250) and told me that the mechanic who replaced my cat converter "put everything on backwards," that they'd done a faulty job, and I should "never go back to that guy." My mechanic replaced the O2 sensor, the check engine light is off, and it's running better than after Charlie's replaced the cat converter (no thunking / rumbling anymore). I think this is a great shop and all of our interactions were professional and helpful, so the poor quality work was surprising. Especially frustrating that I paid the $500 deductible to have the work done and then had to pay an additional $250 (in parts alone) to repair the job that they'd messed up. read more

I was in an accident and was referred to this location. I must say that the service was great and the turnaround time was excellent. The manager helped with all the responsibility with the insurance company and following up with all the necessary paper work that the insurance company wanted. My vehicle was repaired in a few days; I was surprise as how quick it took. I must say, that the vehicle looked even better than before the accident. TLDR; The people that work here are extremely genuine people. I will be recommending this shop to anyone I know when it comes to collision repair. My car was scratched up several times, front left bumper. I went here to get quotes and explained that I needed to get this vehicle appraised since I was going to trade it. The damage, in my eyes, was bad. The man (I believe Brian, middle-aged, possibly Guyanese) tried explaining that the damage will cost the dealership $0 to polish and that I shouldn't be worried. As I'm leaving, he calls me over and explains that he doesn't want to give me an expensive quote to replace the front bumper and instead he'll get someone to polish the bumper for free. In ten minutes, the bumper looks brand new. I then understood his point. He did it for free and he could have easily charged me hard-earned money, and a lot too. read more

Yeeli at the front office was so friendly and helped me navigate what needed to be done, what I could expect and even gave me copies of papers I might need for my personal records.
