Both times he's recognized that certain parts are defective and recommended me to take it to the dealer to get it covered under warranty. He said he actually couldn't fix it, that it was something with the computer needing an update, and that can only be done at the dealer. He did not charge me a dime. He could've charged for a diagnostic or something because they did take time to look at it, but not a thing. He said come pick it up and take it to the dealer. Talk about an honest guy! Dropped off my car around 7 AM (there was already about six cars that had been checked in prior to me arriving) Charlie came by himself to check in my car and ask what issues I was having. By 8 AM he had called with an estimate of what needed to be done and how much everything cost. After OK'ing the repairs my car was done and out of the shop by 12 PM! I very much appreciated the quick turnaround time, and the honesty of Charlie! It's hard to be without a car, and he got me in and out quickly and resolved my issue! Every 5 star review this business has is correct. I had my car dropped off in the morning by a tow truck. Charlie came out, took a quick look and told me he'd call with an estimate. About an hour later he called with an out the door price for a new alternator and belt. The price was very reasonable. I had my car back and in perfect working order in about 4 hours. I called because I had been to the Mazda service center the day prior and they acted like I was making up the issue (car wasn't starting until 2nd or 3rd button push) and it finally died. Wouldn't start at all. Mazda wanted to charge me 150 to tow my car over to the center that had ignored me the day prior, so I called Charlie to see his price. He asked me a couple questions and then told me to change my battery. I figured "why not" because at least he wasn't ignoring me. I changed it and boom. Car is perfect. 10/10. I took my car in on May 1st because it had stalled the past few weeks. I dropped it off at 7 AM, and the guy was quickly taking down info and had a line of cars waiting. I asked for a diagnosis on why the engine was stalling. I left my car with them, and got a call 3 hours later saying it was the Mass Airflow sensor and starter plate that needed cleaning. He charged $60.00 for the cleaning. I thought everything was okay. Nope. My car died again 2 days later. I didn't feel safe bringing my car back to this place. I would have appreciated them taking the time to diagnose the actual problem instead of quickly pushing things through. read more

He came out and looked at my car and told me exactly what was wrong with the car. I was referred to Charlie by a family friend. Charlie has taken care of my car needs on two different occasions. Once, for my brakes and another time for a sensor issue I was having which was causing my not to start. Both times I took my car in, service was efficient and the price was always fair. Charlie has a smooth system to his business. You drop off your car first thing in the morning, you check in with him, he calls back a few hours later and gives you a run down of what the issue is with your car and discuses pricing. If you opt to get the car fixed, he will have it done for you on the same day. At least that's the experience I've had! It's hard to find a reliable and trust worthy mechanic! Toyota of Clovis told us our 2006 Sienna needed a new Alternator ($900), valve cover gaskets ($1,100), and a new transmission ($4,000). Instead of just handing over $6,000 I thought I'd take it to Charlie to see what he had to say. This was my first experience with Charlie and was based solely on Yelp reviews. He lived up to his reputation and then some! He replaced the alternator for $290, said the entire valve cover gasket didn't need to be replaced, and only charged $230 for the part that did need to be replaced. Oh... Charlie's is always my (Go-To) for my oil changed. Since, my car takes synthetic oil and other establishments like to overcharge followed by taking FOREVER. After my car was repaired by Charlie, I 100% agreed with my friends assessment. Extremely happy with the work done on my car. Charlie was very accommodating with my situation. I was not able to get a tow for my car before my shift started at work. He told me to write down some details and leave it in the car. I did as instructed and within 2 hours had diagnosed the issues. After finding a leak under the car Charlie told us our water pump was the problem. He said because of the particular car model (dismantle the engine to access the pump) he didn't do heavy duty work like that anymore but gave us a number of a guy he knew... Thankfully that guy never picked up. I discovered shortly after that that my windshield fluid tube had popped off and that is what was leaking on the ground!!! If I had taken Charlie's advice I would have been looking at a $2100 bill. He could not have done any proper diagnosis on my car. Fast forward weeks later having taken a minute to secure the tube, my car is perfectly fine. Will never be taking a vehicle back to Charlie's. read more
