Today there is such a smart blend of DJs that spin here that is purely cross-generational from every decade of House and makes underground known. They make Menjo's phenomenal. There is a gated parking lot with an attendance. The establishment is the oldest in Michigan! They have a homage wall celebrating all the Queens that has left the show. How sweet. They don't have a kitchen like most bars however they do offer snacks in the basement where the shows are. There's 2 levels, upstairs and downstairs. There's 2 complete bars in both areas along with adequate seating. The upstairs offers a dance floor for those who want to dance. One of the things I liked was that this is a SAFE PLACE for ALL LGBTQIA persons. It's not just for D.Queens. The show itself didn't start until 10pm. The 2nd show was at 11pm. The onion rings were battered and fried perfectly--light and crisp. When you bit into them, it was a clean break through the onion without pulling the whole thing out in the first bite. They came with a nice dipping sauce, and for pub grub, it was impressive that there was no greasiness to either dish. While it's not "healthy," they've taken care to serve it well. It's a low-key joint where you order everything from the bar; there is no table-side service, but in this small setting, that's not a problem.

Cindy, who owns and runs the place makes me smile as soon as I come in, always with a warm welcome. The regulars, on each specific day, are always good to see, quick with a quip. Drinks are cheap, basic surroundings and enchanting conversation every time I come in from Ann Arbor to see my daughter or have business in the city.
