I started coming here cause my barber Daisy started working here. it's a really calm and relaxing environment daisy is a really good barber who I have not let any other barber touch my hair since she started cutting my hair years back and this is coming from someone who's followed her from another shop due to how good of a fade she gives. if daisy is to scary cause her tattoos and big truck.. they also have another great barber a little short filipino named Roseville. you might not be able to see her cause she's short but she's there and does great haircuts as well.. While running early for my 9:30 am appointment in Los Alamitos USD and in need of a haircut I came across Charlies Barbershop while driving down the street. There was plenty of parking outside and I proceeded into the shop. Charlie was giving another gentleman a haircut and asked me if I had an appointment which I didn't. He informed that he has a 10:00 am opening and I asked him if he could make an exception and all I needed was a buzz-cut. Since his other appointment has not arrived yet he told me to go ahead and to have a seat. Looking around the shop there is a lot of MLB. Memorabilia including lot's of signed players autographs. It's obviously that Charlie is a huge Dodgers fans looking at the pictures on his wall. Anyway, I had to wait for less than 5 minutes before it was my turn and I had a great conversation with Charlie. He told he been in the same spot for over 50 years and loves what he does. He also informed me that on certain days he opens as early as 5:00 am which is pretty much unheard of. My haircut turned out great and I'm glad I stopped in. 5 stars for great service and a reasonably priced haircut. I'll be back. read more

Classic barbershop from a simpler time. The prices are pretty cheap Haircut $9 Flat top $10 Razor cut $10 Plain massage $5 Tonic oil $3.5 Shampoo $3 My brother (14) asked me to take him to Charley's. Both he, my dad, and my grandfather go here and Charley has been cutting their hair for a while. Charley is a friendly and amicable older gentleman who takes his time with his haircuts and gets to know his customers. I would recommend this place for anyone who just needs a simple haircut. I cant give him five stars, because after my brother got his haircut, the line in the back was slightly uneven. Otherwise the place is friendly and homey. read more

Daysie has been cutting my hair for over 8 years. When I broke up with my ex she didn't let me go bald, she said "I won't shave your head but I will cut it shorter and if you like it and want it shorter we can at your next haircut" (I never went bald thank you for that) not only is Daysie is very knowledgeable, she also gives you peace of mind when you sit on her barber chair. Been taking my boys here for over 7 yrs. now and I must say this place is great, Charlie is great with my boys and knows how to cut hair the old fashion way! And they always get candy from the jars after their cuts. I used to take them to super cuts but they were awful & not patient at all. So glad we found this gem! I walked in at 1145am and there was only one guy in the barber chair getting his cut. Barber looks at me and asks if i have an appointment. I look around slightly confused and asked "do i need one? There's no one here". He tells me next available is 1pm. (Mind you i called before hand and asked if they take walk-ins and he said yes). Anyway, i agree to coming back at 1 and there were now 2 barbers, and 2 people waiting. I sit down assuming im next since I made a 1pm appt. And sure enough. He calls the next in line up. 2nd barber finishes and he calls the next in line up. Waited 20 after showing up at 1pm for my unnecessary appointment when i could have just waited 10 15 mins when i came in at 11:45. Not to mention half the barber shop is a storage for this dudes junk. Yeah, i call it junk because its not being used for anything other than housing spiders. Charlie did not take time on my haircut at all. It took him less than 10 minutes to finish my haircut, which usually takes 45 mins +, and did not pay attention to details. I had tons of baby hairs, and was very displeased. I do not recommend coming here. read more
