I have been using Charlie's for 5 years for suits and shirts. They have always come back clean and undamaged. Once, I left some money and credit cards in a suit, and surprisingly, both came back! My only ding on them on is their hours. 8:30am is a little late for a cleaners to open in my experience, and they aren't open on Sundays. Once (only once) last week I went there on Monday morning at 8:30 to pickup a suit for a business trip I was taking that day, and they weren't open. I had to have the limo stop by on my way to the airport at 9:15. Thankfully someone was there. But again, in 5 years, they guys almost never let me down. read more

This review is only to reflect their service on tailoring and altering! Definitely great service! Fast, efficient, cheap, and good quality! I went to Charlie's to get a brides maid dress altered. Feeling a little disappointed because the dress was not fitting the way it was supposed to, I took it to Charlie's hoping she make a miracle happen. And she did! A week later the dress looked 100 times better! I needed the dress to be let, the straps to be adjusted, and the length to be reduced! All this was done in less than a week! Not only was it quick, it was very inexpensive! I realized once I got home there was other things that needed just a little more altering. I took the dress back in and asked her to fix it. Again, in a matter of no time the dress was fixed! I would say if you need something quick, definitely try Charlie's cleaners! read more

I haven't had the opportunity to drop off any dry cleaning with Charlie's Cleaners, but I used their alteration services and I'm an extremely happy camper! One afternoon I stumble across and bought a beautiful long, floor-length, cotton dress (for a tall person) and wanted to wear it the following evening for a party that I've been planning to attend. It was 4:00 PM and I called around to several places in Downtown San Jose and the Santa Clara area to do overnight alternation on the dress (since I'm a VERY short person - great things come in small packages!!), but many Cleaners/Tailors do not take overnight alterations past 3:00 PM or on certain day. As always, Yelp to the rescue I found Charlie's Cleaners, which is actually located very close to me, but I never noticed it!! I called them up, they said they can alter by noon the following day. Dropped off my dress and picked up at 1:00 PM the following day! Wahoo! Everything went according to plan and THAT'S the way I like it! Thank you Charlie's Cleaners! I gave 4 stars for now until I have an opportunity to experience their dry cleaning services, but I have no doubt that I'll get excellent service! read more

I took a dress in to get hemmed, the lady greeted me and was very nice. She ended up doing a good job on the dress. The only thing I noticed was on the inside of the dress there was a yellow line all across the stitch work. Can only assume it's from the machine. It didn't show on the exterior of the dress so I shrugged it off. She got the dress hemmed in one day (so quick!). I will probably go back. read more

Prices are certainly better than most in the area but you get what you pay for. I had been using Swift Cleaners down the street down Charlie's primarily because I get my haircut at Mission Barber. I stopped getting my haircut there so thought I'd give Charlie's a try after my wife used their tailoring service. I left about 15 shirts. They're clean, but pretty wrinkled. They did a horrible job putting the shirts in the hanger too which added to the issue. I'm going to have to iron all of the shirts again... which is the reason I take my shirts to the cleaner, to avoid ironing! Two stars because they were cheap and because my wife is happy with the tailoring. read more

This review is long overdue. I've been coming to Charlie's for years, since we've moved to the area about 10 years ago. It's a nice family that owns the store & they do great quality alterations here. I've had my jeans repaired, a bridesmaid dressed taken up, & shirts repaired. The sweet little lady that does the alterations gets items returned quickly & fees are extremely affordable. I've had my clothing dry cleaned numerous times as well which I find pretty standard (no complaints though). If you want fast affordable alterations & dry cleaning, try them out. read more

I really like this place. It has a nice, unassuming vibe, and they pay attention to what you want. I had a bunch of different things that needed to be dry cleaned, and a pair of trousers that needed to be hemmed. They have a private changing corner so that they can measure exactly how much you want to get taken off. Their turnaround is on the faster end of average, and their prices are very reasonable. The location is good (in the plaza with the Walgreens on the corner of Bird Ave. and Willow St.), so parking is not an issue. I will definitely come here again for my dry cleaning needs. read more

Dropped 17 shirts on Monday. Good prices and would be ready by Wednesday. Wednesday came and the shirts were not ready. We were leaving to town and needed the shirts, so this was unacceptable. The lady argued with me a bit but I insisted. She ended up having them ready at 5pm on Wednesday. Four stars due to good pricing and having them ready in the end. read more

Great local dry cleaners - I've had them clean everything from Turkish rugs to silk tops and they have always do an awesome job. I've also had them do numerous alterations for me and the quality of work is great. Prices and turnaround time are very reasonable. The people that work there are so sweet too! read more

Originally found this place saw good reviews and in my neighborhood thought to give it a try. When I dropped off and after cleaned it was all decent, the old lady who did my drop off and pick up were very nice. Until today I try to wear my coat that was from their plastic wrapping, I found one of my coat's belt is missing. I didn't wore it since I picked it back Bc it was summer until recently I started to open some of my coat to wear. Today I went to asked the lady, (guess it's the owner) to see if my belt was there, she started be frustrated and gave attitude said it my own responsibility if I lost it also asked me to prove when I brought it the belt was attached with the coat. If I do have the belt why I need to come back to ask? When I started to ask her more questions, she kept giving a uh-uh- attitude to and try to ignore me. To be honest, it's not really a big deal but I assume this is part of customer service, it's just not a nice way to treat your customers. read more

I recently had a white linen top and pants cleaned at this cleaners. When I picked up my items, my top had yellow stains around the collar. I brought it to the attention of the worker, and was told they was not able to get the stain out. I informed the worker (female) that I never had any stains in my shirt, I simply wanted it cleaned. I then was told repeatedly that they was not able to get the stain out. I continued to tell the worker I never had a stain in my shirt for them to get out. I was accused of wearing make-up ( which I don't wear) and finally after asking to speak to a manager, the worker offered to reclean my shirt that I needed to wear for an event the next morning. I agreed to the re-cleaning which I picked up the morning. Thankfully they were able to get out the yellow stain from around the collar of my shirt; however, the same worker (female) shoved the shirt at me and told me, "DON'T COME BACK"! By this time I am extremely upset because I did absolutely nothing wrong to this lady other than state the facts of my shirt not having any yellow stains before bringing it to this cleaners. I never raised my voice, I stayed professional the entire time because I am a Pastor and a business owner, and a VERY predominate voice in the community I this is not how you conduct business. I felt discriminated against and I will never spend my money here again or recommend this cleaners to anyone. I plan to also report this business to the Better Business Bureau, if not file a law suite. If this is how they treat all of their customers, they WILL NOT be in business very long. read more

We've been taking our dry-cleaning here for two years and are very satisfied. We take all our alterations to them, from hems to taking in waistbands on lined suit-pants. Excellent! Gentle, courteous, FAST service. Practical and no-nonsense. It's a wonderful thing to have a consistantly good place to take suits, etc. knowing they will come back like new! read more

Smells a little in there, remember this site says yes they take credit cards but when we went they had a credit card minimum of $15 so had to pay in cash. They also take a while to look for your stuff, I called around 4:30 found out an hour later they had my jacket ready but it was to late for me to get it as I arrived home from work. On the positive side the next day I just took a glance at my jacket and it looks clean. read more

I've had ok service from Charlie's once or twice with alterations and cleaning. Last time I went in I was told a jacket was suede (it's cotton) and would need professional cleaning for $60. I don't want my clothes cleaned by someone who makes such basic misjudgments, so I am heading elsewhere for dry cleaning, a pity because they are close to my place. read more

very disappointing service. i took some shirts to be pressed and to have alterations done on 3 items. my items came back damaged and stained. the shirts were washed not dry cleaned like i asked. the said they dont dry clean even though it states on the window they do. very bad customer service also. read more
