Fan of the San Gabriel location and glad that there's another boba option in Little Tokyo, with the rise of Chinese tea franchises, it was only inevitable that one would enter the fray in this area. This is across from Weller Court main area where Marukai and the other shops are at and easy to get to if you're familiar with Little Tokyo. You order from their kiosk and they'll call your number when your drink is ready. Staff is helpful and ready to give their suggestions and recommendations. Location is slightly bigger than the SGV location with a couple more tables, but it's not too substantial. Great to enjoy your drink for a bit before you head out to explore the rest of Little Tokyo. My boyfriend got their Clovershrub Latte (one of my favorites from the other location), 0% sweetness, less ice. Decent milk tea with a strong tea creamer flavor, much like Molly Tea, Chahalo, or any of the others in the boba wars. I got a Lemon Phoenix Oolong tea since it was such a hot day, 30% sweet (I wanted to get 70% as recommended but was deterred). Real slices of lemon, a bit more tart that what I would have liked but it's a solid high quality brewed tea. I think I'd get something different next time and I would not go out of my way since the 626 already has one.

I got the 长乐未央 Clovershrub Tea With Pecan Cream Top and really enjoyed it. The taste of the milk tea was subtle, not too sweet, and good quality. The cream top was also tasty and fun to eat. The staff are pretty generous here too. My friend paid extra for toppings when the drink already came with those toppings- the staff were transparent in letting them know and refunding the extra amount. Limited seating. I'd come back to try other flavors!

Charlie's Tea just opened in Weller Court, Little Tokyo in Los Angeles and it's their first location in the US. They're going for an upscale vibe similar to 3CAT, Chagee, and Molly Tea. On their opening weekend, they had some nice promotions and I was able to get their Pecan foam Ceylon black tea and their Green Grape Jasmine Green Milk Tea for the price of one drink. The flavors of the green grape green milk tea were present, but subtle, and it was something that my wife enjoyed. You get hit by the floral flavors of jasmine green tea and it delicately fades into the sweetness of the grape. For the Ceylon Milk Tea with pecan foam, the quality of the tea was nice and foam topping added creaminess, sweetness, and nuttiness that balanced nicely with the tea. I think Charlie's Tea is good; however, it would have been great if the boba was more QQ (and less hard). The flavors of their signature drinks are interesting; however, I would personally stick with the standard milk tea options.

Nice to see Charlies Tea opened in Little Tokyo. The location is a directly across the Marukai market. I ordered the charles shrub milk tea and it was yummy at 50% sweet. The chinese name for this is da hong pao. There are 2 kiosk stands for you to place your order. They have a screen to see which order numbers was been prepared and which were ready for pickup. They have some chairs and tables but in general is a pick and go location because I didn't notice a bathroom.

More milk tea spot in the area and this time it's Charlie's coming all the way from China! Love the pastel-themed design and took joy celebrating the grand opening as they offered BOGO promo! Probably being relatively new (as well as handling pretty big crowd), it took awhile to get the drinks ready. We got couple of their signature drinks, Ceylon Milk Tea with Pecan Cream Top and Jasmine Milk Tea. The default came with 70% sweetness and less ice, which I recommended to stick with as for me they're certainly the best level. If you're into florally tea, the Jasmine was so fragrant yet I loved that the tea flavor also stood out. I wasn't in the camp of tea with whipped cream top, but my husband kinda enjoyed it as for him the cream was light enough.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good their matcha was! I got the double matcha salted fromage. Matcha was good and the foam was thick. I originally wanted the matcha latte with brown sugar boba but the boba wasn't ready yet. I'll have to try it next time forsure. They had a kiosk or you can order in person. Next time I'm passing by Marukai I'll have to stop by here too

Awesome drinks, love it The packaging is beautiful, and the staff are extremely friendly.

Ordered莺莺, which is the green grape flavored milk tea and it tasted great. Very refreshing and delicious. The service was really good and the environment is nice too. Would visit more often

I ordered peach oolong milk tea. It's medium size. I got regular sugar, less ice, and milk. I like how there are options for sugar level, ice level and types of milk I think. It tasted like peach and wasn't too sweet nor not sweet enough. The straw is interesting because it's like three thin straws stuck together. I had to poke through the cover to drink the tea. The cashier was helpful because she asked what sugar level I wanted. It was hard to hear because the music was too loud. R&B music played through the speaker. There were 4 tv screens near the top of the wall. 2 employees were at the front. The milk tea was around $6.

Great tea spot in Little Tokyo with so many different options to choose from! We tried several drinks, and my favorite was the Matcha Latte with Brown Sugar Bubbles. The boba was incredibly soft and chewy, and paired perfectly with the matcha. I also really enjoyed the cheese top teas--the slightly salty, creamy cheese foam balanced nicely with the tea. The shop has a clean, minimal atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. Definitely a nice spot to stop by for a refreshing drink!

This new place serves drinks that are refreshing, not-too-sweet, that hits the spot! All the workers were nice & greeted me when I came in. The space is small but it makes up for the fresh tea, milky scent. I need it in a perfume bottle! Go for the Peach Oolong Milk Tea with Osmanthus Tea Jelly, it's so delicious & floral. Currently, they have a promotion on Friday - Sunday where you pull a blind ball to get a free coupon. Today, I pulled a 2nd drink 50% off so I'm def coming back for more!

New tea spot by little Tokyo!! Got their Ceylon Black with Pecan Cream top and it was pretty good. Since I came during an offer/special day they threw in a free Jasmine Green Milk tea, and honestly anything free is good! Service was good. They have their own self kiosk you can order from but I was in and out within 5 min. The ambiance is really cool! Theres table for seating but since it's anime expo weekend, it was packed for sure!!

The Jasmine Green Milk Tea was absolutely delicious. The jasmine flavor was fragrant and the milk was smooth and creamy.

This is a tea-forward spot that makes all ingredients and toppings fresh from scratch daily. Their most well-known unique topping is the barley popping boba. They use a real-chewy highland barley grain that gives off a nutty, earthy and milkdly sweet pop that makes for a unique texture. The fan-favorite drink is the Mochi Barley Burst which pairs a floral black milk tea with the popping barley and fresh handcrafted mochi. The tea does not have any artificial syrups and uses an organic milk with a bold tea base. The handcrafted mochi is super fun to have with the popping barley because it is pillowy and velvety. Make sure to mix it well together, so you can enjoy the whole drink for all its features. I like the ambiance of the shop. It's a smaller shop with some seating area. You order your drink at the self-service station. There's quite a few staff working to make the drinks, so we got our drinks in less than 10 minutes. I adore 3CAT and I would highly recommend visiting if you haven't already!

The parking lot seems sufficient for the area with a fence dividing the lot from the outside. The inside is a brightly lit tea shop with 2 self order tablets on boxy shelves. There is a good amount of seating and free wifi. I ordered a classic thai tea and a green (jasmine) thai tea... at 50% sweetness. The reason I emphasize sweetness level is because of how sweet the beverages are. I love sugar: sweets, desserts, and beverages. 50% is plenty here. At this level the sugar doesn't overwhelm the tea and the two blend well together having nice spiced notes, tea strength, and milky goodness. My first experience as a ChaTraMue left me sugar'd out, but at 50%, I think a good balance has been struck. They do serve their drinks with plenty of ice, so it might be diluted enough if the ice melts. All in all, the thai tea is great if youre cautious with your sweetness. I can see why people like the thai tea, the spices mixing with the high quality tea is really satisfying and refreshing.

We came in after lunch looking for a sweet treat and ordered a variety of things. Across the board everything was just okay. The coconut cakes weren't fresh and had already started to dry out, which for a dessert spot is a hard thing to overlook. But the food was the least of our issues -- the customer service is where things really went sideways, twice. First, my friend ordered a chrysanthemum drink only to be told they were out, something that wasn't noted anywhere on the kiosk. The worker pointed her toward the fridge with zero additional instruction. Naturally she picked a drink and opened it, as anyone would. A few moments later the same worker comes over, asks for the bottle, grunts, sighs, and says "did you open this?" When we said yes he shook his head, muttered that she wasn't supposed to, and walked away. No explanation, no apology -- just attitude. He came back, poured it into another cup with ice, and that was that. The second incident was equally frustrating. After I ordered and paid for the Mango Slush Coconut Milk, he came back to tell me they were out of coconut milk and asked if I'd be okay with regular milk. As someone who is lactose intolerant, I said no and asked him to show me my options. He walked away without a word, disappeared into the back, and then came out telling me my drink was ready. I double checked that it was coconut milk and not regular -- he confirmed and walked off. The drink tasted off though, noticeably more mango heavy than coconut milk forward, which made me wonder about the ratios. And what was strange is that after being told there was no coconut milk, it somehow reappeared. Make it make sense. The concept here has real potential and I hope they find their footing, but between the mediocre food and the communication issues, I won't be making a return visit anytime soon.

The staff was fairly impatient (despite us being the only customers in the store) and seemed annoyed to provide recommendations to my family who had never tried HeyTea before. We got 5 drinks: triple matcha, brown sugar bobo, king jasmine guava, coconut mango boom, cloud jasmine. All but the king jasmine guava were either bland or extremely salty. The king jasmine guava was easily the best drink we got, but it had mostly a guava taste and very little jasmine. I've never had this experience before at the other locations, so I want to assume they were just having a really off day... All that said, it's Beverly Hills. Even the most popular places can be hit or miss depending on the day. While I was disappointed in this visit, I wouldn't mind giving it another try if I had a craving and was in the area. There's a few stools to sit on, but this is mostly a grab and go spot. Note on parking: there's some street parking in front of the store, but it can be tough to find an empty spot. There's a couple paid garages/lots on the block, and we were able to get free parking since we were there after 6 PM.
