We were greeted by a friendly worker that offered us samples. I ended up going with the Champion Milk Tea as that was the one I liked most when trying the three samples. The sample tasted really good and was chilled to perfection. The tea flavor was almost very strong and was what sold me. However, my drink was warmer than I wanted it to be and the flavor didn't really match the sample that I had. The amount of ice that was put into the drink didn't make my milk tea too cold and the tea taste wasn't as strong. I spent almost $10 on one drink. I couldn't really taste the tea flavor since there was so much going on in terms of flavor, temperature, and texture when I mixed everything. I also added honey boba and those were inconsistent. Some felt soft while some tasted old. My least favorite part was the graininess of the drink. Not sure if it's from the pecan, but it wasn't the most pleasant for me. Overall though, this was still not a terrible drink. However, I wouldn't say this was worth $9. First time having Odd One Out back in Nov'25! Late review! This was so good! Staff was also very friendly. They were patient with me asking a lot of questions. We also didn't specify we needed oat milk in one of the drinks, though did mention lactose intolerance...and when we received drinks and let them know of the milk issue, they were quick to apologize (which also not their fault) and quickly remade the drink. Park in the back of the building in the parking structure labeled for hmart the MaDang Plaza. You should GPS the parking because the gps for the boba takes you to the front of the building and there's no parking there... Very smooth parking lots of spots available. Remember to bring your ticket to get it validated. Once validated you are okay to scan it when leaving you don't need to scan it first at the pay kiosks. The boba shop is on the first floor same as the one that Daiso is on. Walk all the way opposite of Daiso though it's at the front of the building. If you see the bakery you are close keep walking. There's a self order kiosk and you can order with an employee. I opted to order with the employee and get her recommendations since it was my first time she was very nice. I got two drinks the champion boba tea and yuzu osmanthus. Loved the yuzu drink it was so refreshing and different from other drinks I've had at other boba shops. Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of OOO. I have gone to their original location in Sawtelle, and I am a regular at the Pasadena location. I love their drinks. Icy Peak, Golden Buddha Silk, or Wintermelon and my usual go-to, Hokkaido Soba. My recent experience was horrendous. I had the biggest craving for boba, and since I was in Silverlake at my fiancé's place, OOO was the only decent boba I could DoorDash from. We waited forever and got the drink only to find out there is a fruit fly inside my drink, literally floating on top. Yuck. The drink was sealed, so it is indeed from the shop. Now I am going to spend some good time observing my drink before I consume it. The drinks are consistent amongst both, and I tried their Yuzu Osmanthus with less ice and less sugar. Arguably even at this adjustment, it was still a tad too sweet. Their jasmine silk boba though? One of my go to spots for a drink with strong tea flavor. I would say their drink at their Pasadena branch does taste a bit better, but it was still overall a really good drink! I got their Champion Milk Tea and their Yuzu Osmanthus Silk Boba. The Champion milk tea has a strong vibrant oolong tea flavor that compliments well with their cream foam. The Yuzu Osmanthus is very unique, not too floral or too citrus, and definitely a drink you don't find elsewhere! I opted for their Champion milk tea, perfect sugar, with their Jasmine Tea Silk Boba for my topping. The milk tea was so creamy and you can really taste the depth and fragrance of the tea. Their silk boba is similar to Torotea's, where the consistency is less chewy than boba but with a more substantial mouthfeel as the size is bigger than standard jelly. You can really taste the jasmine tea in the jelly, and I can't wait to try their wintermelon silk boba next. The drink was the perfect amount of sweetness for me, which is defaulted to 50%. I love that their menu notes where each tea is from, such as the different regions of Taiwan, where their tea primary comes from. I love strong teas, and the teas here are authentic and organic. Their drinks are on the pricier end, but worth the splurge in my opinion for the amazing quality. For my large drink with silk boba, I paid a bit more than $10. Wanted to get something refreshing to drink and found a parking spot on Western. Walked into Odd One Out since the Bingsu place was crowded. Cute little place with bench seating. Better for pickup. I saw that they were known for their milk tea, but I wanted something without dairy. I tried the Jade oolong, yuzu, apple juice, shiso, osthmanthus tea with jasmine silk boba. Both the name of the drink and the drink itself were a mouthful. I got it w/ 25% sweetness, and that was perfect. The shiso offset the sweetness of the apple juice. It was refreshing. The jasmine silk boba had an interesting texture. If you have an issue with texture or have an issue with chewing your drink, this may not be the best drink for you. But, if that doesn't bother you, I would highly suggest getting it. I do want to try the milk tea the next time as they won an award in '22 & '23. Not sure who overthrew them in '24 & '25, but nonetheless a great accolade. They do offer validated parking for 2 hours. read more

I ordered a Yuzu Osmanthus flavored tea while for me, I opted for a Rose Black Milk Tea with Almond Milk and coconut sugar boba. Due to the busyness at the time, I patiently waited for a few minutes and was looking forward to having my first try. I'm truly fond that they offer almond or oat milk as dairy alternatives. Upon first sip, I immediately tasted the rose flavor matching with a naturally brewed tea. The boba cooked in coconut sugar truly matched the brewed tea and their top quality almond milk. While I ordered my drink at perfectly sweet (50% sugar) the reduced sweetness did not compromise the natural flavors.
