Sunright Boba Milk Tea
Maleerat P.

I got milk tea from this place many times and I like it. A lot of times my business partner got milk tea for us when we have an event at our company. I have been here about 3 times. Finally I decided to write a review. This place is so spacious and bright. You have to order through the screen on the wall. All drinks have pictures and it is easy to put your order in. I love their Sunright milk tea with boba. I'm lactose intolerant However, there are also milk alternatives like Oatmilk.. big plus +++ My hubby most of the time gets milk tea but today he got Lemon Jasmin tea. It recommended 100% sweetness but he got 50% sweet and it turned out to be too sour to me. But for him, he said he's ok with it. There isn't any interaction with employees tbh....but they are fast when making drinks. Sometimes it's messy there...like boxes of supplies lying around and trash when it's busy.....and because the employees never really talk to you it feels kind of robotic. For sure I will be back when I'm craving for milk tea

I like this place. I won't lie, the inside is a bit empty and they can definitely do a lot more with all the space they have, but I'm also not sure if they're going for more of a spacious vibe. Otherwise, I like how easy it is to place an order and how quickly things come out, even during busier hours. The drinks are too notch and I've never really had to go back and ask for any changes. Solid option in this area.

Thai Milk Tea

Got a matcha oolong milk tea and Thai tea and both were equally delicious. Place is clean and well maintained. Service is fast and great. Shall be back again.

One of the best milk teas in Los Angeles and definitely the best in Little Tokyo. I don't know what TV they use, but it is very flavorful and fresh. The topping selection is very nice and ordering on the kiosk makes it simple and quick.

Nice place! Some seating with a nice Christmas tree for the holidays. They have a lot of options on their menu. Looks like only self ordering kiosks. I ordered the brown sugar espresso boba oat latte. Sweet with a good espresso flavor coming through. Thank you!

Jasmine Milk Tea with boba

I ordered Jasmine green milk tea 25% sugar with boba. Normally this combination is good at other boba places. But my drink tasted way too sweet. It tasted like 100% sweetness. Boba was also a little hard. The inside of this location is spacious. There's seats for people to sit down but no tables really. It does look like there were tables before. This location is next to shinshengumi & offers validation when you park in the lot connected to the building. Otherwise it's $12 per hour. From what I saw you can only order through a kiosk, which is like most boba places now.

Mango Jasmine Tea

Loved that the mango was very rich and not just a syrup - can see in the picture! Service was SO NICE and friendly, and the ambiance was a clean, modern, open air atmosphere with a curvy bench for seating. Right on the outskirts of Little Tokyo, definitely worth it!

Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 This is a long overdue boba review. This place is one of my regular spots, and my go-to order is Ceylon tea with cheese foam and agar boba, no ice, 25% sweetness. This time I tried Ceylon tea with crème brûlée and agar boba, still good, but can't beat the cheese foam combo. It's one of the few boba shops that offer Ceylon tea, and you have to try it. Highly recommended.

Thai Milk Tea + Creme Brulee Boba Milk

I come here occasionally, the space is a neat little hang out spot and fast paced as far as in and out for your drink orders. The boba here is really good, one of my most preferred in Little Tokyo. You order at the kiosk, so it's quick. Staff doesn't talk much, but they get the orders done quick.

Great drinks ruined by an unapproachable and unfriendly staff member. Came by on Sunday (2/23/25) at noon on the last day of the AFK Journey collaboration event. The AFK Journey staff are great, wish I could say the same for the staff preparing drinks. They have to self service kiosk, but imaging having them take your orders. The place is spacious, high ceilings, plenty of seating. Nice location and not too busy The event drinks and usual are great. We got both the event drinks, Thai tea, and lychee oolong tea. The avocado sesame drink was delicious, you can taste the avocado and sesame whereas other places, the avocado is hardly noticeable. Sweetness and texture was perfect to my liking. What really soured the experience was the staff member calling out orders and serving drinks at that time. Must've been in a bad mood or having a bad days but it's inexcusable for them to be in the service industry. Or just make drinks and don't talk to customers. She basically called out numbers and left drinks for multiple orders out and basically had us figure out ourselves whose drink went with what order. Sure, let me pick up each drinks and check if it's mine. Thanks! We asked for a bag for our four drinks, since we weren't going to drink them right away. She gave us the dirtiest look like it was such an inconvenience for her. She took out the bag and handed us one finally but the look of questioning why we had asked for bags was so disrespectful. This place really needs to train their staff on customer service. It wasn't even that busy! I've gone to Gardena, Rowland heights, and other locations and didn't get this horrible treatment. Gardena actually packed it up in a bag for us when we ordered 4 drinks and even gave us the appropriate straws for our drinks. I'll go back when there's an exclusive event, but the service here leaves much to be desired.

We randomly came across this pretty solid boba spot in Little Tokyo! They've got a nice variety of drinks, everything from classic and milk teas to cheese foam, matcha, fruit teas, Yakult blends, frosties, and even coffee. I went with the mango Yakult with lychee jelly since I wanted something light after eating, and it was super refreshing. Also, you can order from a kiosk when you walk in, which makes the whole process really quick and easy.

Panda milk tea
Danielle D.

I tried the panda milk tea which is a ceylon milk tea that comes with brown sugar and honey boba, less ice and less sweet. For me, it was too sweet, not enough tea flavor shining through and boba was too soft and lacking flavor.

Ask the Community - Sunright Tea Studio - Little Tokyo

Do ygs take cash?

Hi Nhu! That’s a great question, unfortunately, at this time we no longer take cash payments and instead only take card or apply pay. American Express is always welcome. Hope this helps!

Can you adjust caffeine level?

Hi, I am afraid not. Our teas are freshly brewed in small batches throughout the day. Some drinks will have less caffeine like the Four Seasons Latte and our Oat Brulee series. Other drinks have no caffeine like all the Sunright Boba Milks,…

Are your drinks vegan-friendly?

Hi, yes. All our fruit teas are vegan friendly and our milk teas have an almond or oat milk option. Do not order the cheesefoam, creme brulee, honey boba or puddings. Hope that helps.

Asking for all my lactose intolerant people here - does your house milk have dairy in it?

Hi Lisa, our housemilk is made from a non-dairy creamer base and has a little evaporated and condensed milk added, many customers with dairy sensitivity like myself report they have no issues with our housemilk but to play it safe we do offer almond…

I heard the soft opening has a Bogo promo. How long is the bogo promo going to last?

Hi, our bogo promo is only for our grand opening this weekend, 4/17 and 4/18 from 12-9pm. :)

Hi just wondering when you guys will be opening :D?

Hi, we will soft open next Monday 4/5 at 3pm. Please stop by and grab some boba :)

I stumbled across their Yelp page when I was visiting from out of town and checked the Instagram for their hours on a Saturday afternoon and was happy to see they were open! I am a sucker for pop-up coffee shop/cart concepts so I had to check it out. The pop-up is easy to find, it's outside facing into the parking lot, and they had a cute A-frame sign out by the street side. There was no line, and I ordered and sat down at one of the tables out front. The service was so warm, and I believe the shop is owned and operated by one man on his own! He was an absolute delight to meet, and he brought my matcha latte to me at the table when it was prepared. He suggested I get the cream top on it, and boy was that the perfect recommendation. I would say I'm a little bit of a matcha fiend... I think I got a matcha latte at 3 different places this day... and this one far surpassed the others. I think it was one of the best matcha lattes I have ever drank to-date. It was perfectly green, the matcha quality was phenomenal, both taste and look-wise. The texture was just right, perfectly creamy with barely any grittiness. The cream top only added to the drink, and didn't take away from the matcha flavor at all, which I feel like has happened at other places for me. I'm dreaming of this matcha latte days later, and need to go back to Kokoro No Coffee as soon as I am in town again. This was a spectacular find, and I hope this spot gets all the love it deserves! There is truly nothing like a great business ran by a great person and you can tell there's so much intention put into this concept. Highly, highly recommend and I could not sing praises more!

She got the cream top coffee and I got the matcha latte so I could sip the top of hers and drink mine and it was honestly so so good. I have no idea how they make their cream top but it's unlike any other I've tried. The matcha itself was also very smooth and great quality. I get the Japandi minimalist design aesthetic but a lot of people would love to just sit down and drink their spendy beverage and there's just not enough seats for all the customers. For this, I have to give the ambiance 2 stars. I'd still come back for the exceptional matcha latte though!

I asked for the cream to be cut in half, which made it feel more balanced. Definitely one of the better tiramisu style drinks I've had. Also got the banana cream matcha, which leans a bit sweeter because of the banana cream, but surprisingly works well. The matcha itself is smooth and consistent, and you can adjust the sweetness, which I always appreciate. The space is clean and spacious, great for hanging out or getting some work done.
