I came here for the Maplestory x Sunright Tea Studio tea collab event. Despite my complaints about the event itself (not Sunrights fault), the employees did a great job! Everyone pretty much ordered at the kiosks inside of the store, and the line moved really freaking fast despite the mount of people they had to serve. I think I legit waited like 5 minutes and I got my drink, which was the Coconut frostie with boba. This was a really, really delicious drink. Great coconut flavor, would order again. It's interior decor is themed similarly to all other sunrights. They have a nice spacious area to sit/stand/etc. I think they may have moved tables/chairs to make room for the event, as I don't remember seeing any of those at the time. read more

Enjoyed our visit and delicious specialty coffee and milk tea drinks at Sunright Tea Studio in Little Tokyo this Saturday. Sunright Tea Studio is so welcoming and gives off such a sweet and festive ambiance. The studio is so spacious and has a beautiful Christmas tree in the center with area for sitting. We ordered our drinks from the kiosks and we're still able to communicate with the 2 baristas. The baristas were great and helpful in recommending their specialty coffee and milk tea drinks. We ordered the Signature Iced Coffee, Strawberry Matcha Latte, Chocolate Oreo Brûlée and Chocolate Oreo Frostie. The Signature Iced Coffee is a Vietnamese Highland double blend while the Strawberry Matcha Latte is premium matcha from Japan with 4 seasons oolong tea layered with organic milk and fresh strawberries. The Chocolate Oreo Frostie on the otherhand is a rich yet refreshing chocolate ice-blended frostie infused with a generous scoop of crushed oreos. So good! Last but not least, the Chocolate Oreo Brûlée is a velvety chocolate latte swirled with creme brulee foam and served with crushed Oreos. This is one is good yet it's too sweet for me. I got milk tea from this place many times and I like it. A lot of times my business partner got milk tea for us when we have an event at our company. I have been here about 3 times. Finally I decided to write a review. This place is so spacious and bright. You have to order through the screen on the wall. All drinks have pictures and it is easy to put your order in. I love their Sunright milk tea with boba. I'm lactose intolerant However, there are also milk alternatives like Oatmilk.. big plus +++ My hubby most of the time gets milk tea but today he got Lemon Jasmin tea. It recommended 100% sweetness but he got 50% sweet and it turned out to be too sour to me. But for him, he said he's ok with it. There isn't any interaction with employees tbh....but they are fast when making drinks. Sometimes it's messy there...like boxes of supplies lying around and trash when it's busy.....and because the employees never really talk to you it feels kind of robotic. Drinks are fine, just like any other Sunright I've been to, but this location has gone down in terms of cleanliness and ambiance. The floors were pretty dirty, and there was no seating except for the low/long bench thing. Also, you have to order by kiosk and you don't really interact with the staff. They had a BOGO on some of the tea drinks, so my coworker and I got the fruit tea with lychee jelly. The tea was refreshing, and I loved how there were real pieces of fruit inside. read more

I ordered Jasmine green milk tea 25% sugar with boba. Normally this combination is good at other boba places. But my drink tasted way too sweet. It tasted like 100% sweetness. Boba was also a little hard. The inside of this location is spacious. There's seats for people to sit down but no tables really. It does look like there were tables before. This location is next to shinshengumi & offers validation when you park in the lot connected to the building. Otherwise it's $12 per hour. My drink was amazing!! Nothing to complain about! Since I ordered on the kiosk I didn't really have any type of service. Only the employee calling my name for my drink that was it. The biggest complaint I have unfortunately was the inside was very dirty! None of the menu screens were on, one kiosk was out of order, under the seating was very very dirty almost looks like mold. There are supplies everywhere as if there is no storage area. This place looks like maybe at one time it was packed with customers and well kept up but now literally looks VERY UNKEPT! I ordered the Panda Milk tea which came with honey boba at 50% sugar and it wasn't too sweet! The honey boba adds sugar so I would recommend getting the sugar level at 50% or less if you're not usually a big sweet tooth person! I thoroughly enjoyed this boba and would come back for this drink! I would love to try the white peach next. read more

Sunright is one of the better boba spots and it's definitely a must visit. The quality seems to be consistent with their different locations. I've had the opportunity to try most things on the menu but my favorite is the grape frosty, which unfortunately seems to be a seasonal item. The menu is extensive enough to where there should be something for everyone as there are your more traditional choices, as well as, some fusion (East meets West), creative new drinks. Sunright uses high quality ingredients, many of which are locally sourced in California. And yes, you can absolutely tell the difference! This is also because they don't cut corners and costs during the prep. The staff is always on top of things and even when there are long lines, they always work diligently and quickly while maintaining the high quality standard. This location itself is bigger than most of their grab and go ones, with plenty of seating and space. If you haven't heard of Sunright, definitely give it a go and you'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

I come here occasionally, the space is a neat little hang out spot and fast paced as far as in and out for your drink orders. The boba here is really good, one of my most preferred in Little Tokyo. Great drinks ruined by an unapproachable and unfriendly staff member. Came by on Sunday (2/23/25) at noon on the last day of the AFK Journey collaboration event. The AFK Journey staff are great, wish I could say the same for the staff preparing drinks. They have to self service kiosk, but imaging having them take your orders. The place is spacious, high ceilings, plenty of seating. Nice location and not too busy The event drinks and usual are great. We got both the event drinks, Thai tea, and lychee oolong tea. The avocado sesame drink was delicious, you can taste the avocado and sesame whereas other places, the avocado is hardly noticeable. Sweetness and texture was perfect to my liking. What really soured the experience was the staff member calling out orders and serving drinks at that time. Must've been in a bad mood or having a bad days but it's inexcusable for them to be in the service industry. Or just make drinks and don't talk to customers. She basically called out numbers and left drinks for multiple orders out and basically had us figure out ourselves whose drink went with what order. Sure, let me pick up each drinks and check if it's mine. Thanks! We asked for a bag for our four drinks, since we weren't going to drink them right away. She gave us the dirtiest look like it was such an inconvenience for her. She took out the bag and handed us one finally but the look of questioning why we had asked for bags was so disrespectful. This place really needs to train their staff on customer service. It wasn't even that busy! I've gone to Gardena, Rowland heights, and other locations and didn't get this horrible treatment. Gardena actually packed it up in a bag for us when we ordered 4 drinks and even gave us the appropriate straws for our drinks. They've got a nice variety of drinks, everything from classic and milk teas to cheese foam, matcha, fruit teas, Yakult blends, frosties, and even coffee. Sunright Tea Studio is one of my favorite boba spots - it's always consistent no matter which location I visit. This one is my go-to since it's closest to me, and a big plus is that they validate for the attached parking lot (the former Office Depot lot). Free parking in Little Tokyo can be difficult to come by! I also appreciate the convenience of their tablet ordering system - it's easy to customize exactly how I like my drinks and then just wait to pick up. My favorites are the fruit teas...they're always so refreshing and you can tell they use quality ingredients. I usually add aloe vera, which makes it even better. Earlier this week I tried the seasonal Apple Oolong with Aloe, and it was delicious. I'll definitely be back for more! read more

Edit: credit given, as it's due. The business owner reached out on the side so it's apparent he does care about service provided to his customers. We will give this place another shot when we're back in the area. They will not read any special instructions you input on the kiosk and they will not mix anything for you (even if you tip 20%). You'll be S.O.L. I ordered a mango fruit tea, but wanted to see if they could mix it with strawberry. We tipped upfront, assuming this wasn't a difficult task, yet grateful they could accommodate. What ensued was our mango order being called out and we asked about them adding the strawberry. The girls were confused, as they clearly didn't read the additional notes on the order. Keep in mind the entire place was empty so it wasn't like they were busy. One girl, out of the three, came up and just flat out said no we can't do that. Not, can we get you anything else instead? Spoiler alert - they didn't frankly care, it wasn't their problem. I would have tried something else, had I known they couldn't accommodate my order. Stopped by last weekend for the Maplestory x Sun Right collab event and it was fantastic! Staff were friendly and helpful and ordering drinks was a breeze! The self-ordering kiosks are simple and easy to navigate and inside it was bustling with activity as the staff were making drinks for all the orders! I got the limited time Green Slime's Ellinia Kiwi drink and it was refreshing! There was plenty of kiwi flavor and mixing it with jasmine green tea was a good combination! Like all other Sunright locations, this one is well-staffed and clean and bright on the inside! Looking forward to coming back here for drinks again when I'm in Little Tokyo! I have tried different Sunright Tea Studios in the Bay Area, and it never disappoints. I always order the Matcha Oolong Milk Tea (50% sweet, no boba). It has the perfect amount of caffeine to wake me up, but not so much to give me the shakes like coffee. I love the subtle taste of matcha paired with the nuttiness from the oolong. Some folks think oolong tastes earthy, but I think it's delicious! The matcha and oolong flavors complement each other very well, and the drink wasn't too sweet, which I love! My sister and I ordered at 1 of 2 kiosks they have on the side when we walked in. Service was really fast. Staff was quick and efficient. Ambiance was casual. Fresh taro milk with mochi 5/5 - I love sunright because they use fresh taro and not taro powder. I got 100% sweet and it is usually pretty sweet but I think it's needed for this drink. But I decided to try the mochi but it seems like more than half the cup was filled with mochi! Everytime I drank it, I got a little bit of taro drink and a huge gulp of mochi. The mochi itself is good and very soft but I think they need to put less in their cups Oreo brûlée with boba and mochi 4/5 - my bf usually gets this drink and loves it but he also got mochi to try today and more than half the cup was filled with mochi and we just wasted half the cup since it was too much and just tossed it. My friends and I parked at the Japanese Village Plaza and walked right over. We ordered on the website for pick up, but it was a Thursday night and not too busy, so we could have just ordered when we got there. The place is adorable. I love how bright and clean everything looks, with a sprinkling of Halloween decorations. We were able to sit on the built in bench and enjoy our boba inside. Mango Yakult with Jasmine Tea Jelly 3/5 It was a bit too sour for my liking and it was nothing special. I got the jasmine tea jelly which is like grass jelly but made from tea. The flavor was slightly bitter and not very impressive. I expected it to be small pieces like lychee jelly but that's my fault for not doing the research. Next time, I would just stick with lychee jelly. Didn't really interact with the staff because you order from the kiosk and just pick up the drink. The inside is cute and has a lot of bench seating. My bf and I were visiting Little Tokyo to do some shopping and really wanted to grab some boba but also try a new boba spot we haven't been to yet since there are so many to choose from out here! Based off of Yelp reviews, we stumbled upon this one AND it was super close to the little Tokyo plaza. It's right by the Starbucks located on the outside of the little Tokyo center. We walked over and was surprised at how wide and open their interior was! It's got high ceilings and so much room. They're a quick in and out kind of cafe so there's nowhere to sit other than the middle area with all the rocks. As soon as you enter, there are two touch screen menus on the left where you order and pay with a card. Super easy and I love the accessibility of it all. Sometimes I don't like trying to pronounce weird drink names or want to customize it to an extent and it's so much easier and convenient to do it at one of these. As soon as we ordered, there was quite a line after us! We got lucky to only be behind a few people when we first arrived. Waited a few minutes and our drinks were already ready! I still didn't have my coffee for the day during our time of visiting so I decided to try their latte with honey boba and mixed with brown sugar boba. Best of both worlds! You can hardly tell the difference. Slight difference in taste and the honey one seemed to be chewier and had a better texture to them. My bf got the panda milk tea with honey boba and brown sugar boba as well and it was a really good milk tea flavor! Definitely a classic. The coffee was perfectly sweet and had such a good, strong coffee flavor. This is by far the best boba shop out in this area and will definitely be stopping by more often when we visit! Sunright is quite popular in OC, and so far has been solid. My favorite drink here so far, the Jasmine green tea with peach puree summer drink was lovely at 75% sweetness with full ice on a 90 degree day. 4/5 only because of texture of puree was a little grainy, but at least you know they used real peaches! Prior, I had the four seasons tea from the Irvine location and was not super impressed, but maybe it was because the drinks run on the less sweet side. But overall seems like a solid spot. Will have to try the actual milk teas and boba again. Ambience was cute with curvy benches and a nice white and light wood feel with high ceilings. Minimal interaction with the staff due to kiosk ordering. Just be sure if you get a validation that you confirm with the adjacent lot the cost of parking since nothing is posted. read more
