I quickly called Heliflights and explained to Kevin that I would lose out on using a Groupon because it was set to expire the following Tuesday. In addition, I had trouble receiving an email to reset my password, which I needed in order to reschedule. Within two minutes, Kevin rebooked a flight for me. While explaining the details, he also managed to send me a confirmation email of our agreement (honoring the Groupon after the expiration date) and another email to reset my password. The low price you see advertised is NOT what you should expect to pay. You purchase the tickets first, but when you later try to actually schedule your flight, additional charges can appear for the date you select. In our case, we were charged an additional $497.73 just to book our flight. So before buying, understand that your final cost can be dramatically higher than the attractive price you initially see. But the most disappointing part was the customer service. Emails went unanswered for days, we had to repeatedly call to get anything resolved, and when we asked to speak with a senior manager, the representatives we spoke with simply told us that they themselves were the senior manager. I felt like resolving the customer's problem was simply not a priority. After days of communication regarding the unexpected additional charge, FlyNYON finally offered us three complimentary GSS/Selfie Seat upgrades and a GoPro as a resolution. I have an email from their employee specifically confirming that three GSS upgrades were added to our reservation. We arrived for the flight believing the issue had finally been resolved. The GoPro was provided, but the promised seating was not. There were six passengers on our flight. Four were able to sit with their legs outside -- including my boyfriend -- while my daughter and I were placed in the middle/window positions. I can completely understand my daughter's seating if it was necessary because of her weight and safety. But I was the only adult passenger who did not get the experience that had specifically been promised to us in writing. After spending almost a week trying to resolve this and finally believing their promise, I was genuinely heartbroken. I actually cried after the flight.
