Decided to branch out and try a new thai place - - and so glad we did! Menu had lots of yummy options, service was super friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. No alcohol at this place so we started with water. We had 2 orders of fresh rolls - - one with tofu, the other with shrimp - - delicious, crisp and fresh. The peanut sauce so yummy, next time I will order extra :) Also ordered the pad see ew with tofu and the pumpkin curry with chicken - - both with medium spice which had a decent amount of heat. Flavor was good, just wish there were more veggies, but I'm always looking for more veggies. This restaurant is located in a house, with the entrance up several steps. It has both indoor and outdoor seating - - we chose indoor because it was super hot yesterday. The bathroom is straight back from the entrance. Such a cute restaurant, I love the decors!! Food was fantastic. Ordered the Moo Ping, Shrimp Fresh Roll, & Drunken Noodles w/ Tofu. Everything was delicious! Reminded me so much of the authentic thai food I've had in Bangkok - oh, it brought back fond memories. The only thing that bugged me was that certain items weren't on the menu or already sold out. I mean we were there at 6:30 PM and we were the only table seated at the time. So, I was kind of shocked that certain things weren't avail. on the menu. Came here for lunch and got myself a Khao Soi. This is a cute Thai restaurant and looks to be a family run business. The food is good, and water is always full for us. My boyfriend and I came here around 9:30pm on a Friday (they are open till 11 Fridays) and there were a few people there but still open seating available. I ordered the vegetable egg rolls, which were absolutely delicious and it came with a plum sauce. It was sweet and balanced out the flavors of the egg rolls really nicely. For my main meal I got the pad see ew and it tasted great. I wish I asked for it to be spicy, because it was a bit bland. There were only 3 small pieces of broccoli unfortunately, I do wish there was more. The service was great here and we had the sweetest waitress. After hearing how this restaurant was owned by a Michelin chef from Vegas, I really wanted to give it a try. I came one day for dinner service with a friend and we had a great time. The restaurant is located in a house on a busy street, so it may be a bit difficult to find parking, but we just parked in the neighborhood. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated with flowers hanging from the ceiling and a warm, inviting ambiance. Service was very very kind the whole time and very patient in explaining the different dishes to us. While they offer your traditional Thai dishes such as pad thai and pad kra pow, they also offer more unique dishes under the "Chef's Recommendation". We ordered the Massamun Curry Short Ribs and the Crab Stir-Fry and both were delicious. The curry was flavorful and the short ribs were braised to tenderness heaven. Meanwhile, the crab stir-fry was unique and I've never had anything like it before. Plenty of crab and lots of flavor. We also had the Thai Coconut Creme Brulee for dessert and it was also delicious (but I didn't taste coconut flavor that much). Finally got to try this hidden gem. The food was so flavorful and delicious. I love all of the flowers on the wall, made it perfect for a yap session with the girls. We've been meaning to try this sweet little Thai spot on NE Broadway. Their menu is on the smaller side, but they do it well! We shared fresh rolls with tofu, pad Thai with chicken and the cashew chicken stir fry. The fresh rolls were amazing- the filling was crisp and flavorful and the rice paper wasn't too thick or sticky or dry! The pad Thai was great- I like the tang of the tamarind forward sauce and they use very thin noodles, which was unique. The cashew chicken stir fry was my favorite. So flavorful and fresh. I'd recommend making a reservation as the place is quite small and intimate, leading to tables filling up quickly. It's located in a building that looks to be a previous residential home which is oh so Portland. We ordered the Massaman Curry Short Ribs, Yellow Curry, Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. The curries were both rich in flavor, creamy, yet light. The Yellow Curry had a savory taste while the Massaman was sweet and gave hints of cinnamon. So many times after happy hour drinks with friends, I'm still hungry and now I know a place where I can stop by for delicious takeout after 9pm. Late night hours wouldn't matter unless the food was good. It is! The Pad Kee Mao was my favorite, the Thai basil giving this dish one of its signature flavor components. The tender chicken, veggies and wide rice noodles all dancing in a sauce that definitely had a kick but was rounded out by some sweet, acid and sour. Wish the dish had more rice noodles, then it would have been perfection. There are bench and table seats outside on the lower front porch, a great place to have a meal and people watch. Inside strands of faux flowers hanging from the ceiling add color, ambiance, and charm. Lots of tables and chairs in the various rooms of this old house. Absolutely loved the ambience here, the friendly staff and the food is just delectable. This is hands down one of my favorite Thai food places in Portland. We ordered the Massaman Curry Short Ribs, the Pad See EW, and the Pork Cha Su along with the Lychee Mojito, a Bangkok Sweet night, and Sapporo. The portions are great for sharing, the flavors and meat are cooked to perfection. The drinks were good, I preferred the Bangkok sweet night to the Mojito but, of course drinks are a matter of preference. This meal was not cheap but the price to portion and value for the food we ate made it totally worth it. I am already thinking about when I will eat here again. We also arrived early for our reservation and they were able to seat us early. When our meal was delayed the chef came and talked to us. This place is so cute. Saw this place on someone's instagram and knew I had to try. The service was really attentive and super quick but they weren't too packed when I went. I had the braised short rib curry and omg it was soo good. The meat was like melting in my mouth and it was falling off the bone. I 100% recommend. They offered me some extra chili sauce but I thought it was perfect flavor already. Unfortunately our experience was less than ideal. We were really looking forward to trying a new Thai food restaurant, however the food and service did not meet expectations. We added our names to a list and the host stated to come back in 45 mins or they would call us if it was sooner. When we returned our names were crossed off the list and we never received a call. After placing our order we waited a hour for our food. In addition, The server assured us the dish we ordered was not spicy and when it arrived it was so spicy we couldn't eat more than a bite. We got the Basil Fried Rice, Pad See Ew, and Tom Kha Soup. All three dishes were delicious! It was a good amount of food for two very hungry people. We only had a little bit of fried rice and soup leftover. The Pad See Ew was very tasty and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The Basil Fried Rice also had a good flavor and the rice wasn't mushy. Both dishes had a great array of vegetables in them. The flavor of the Tom Kha Soup was also amazing! It was sour and the right amount of creamy. I only wish that there was more in the soup. We got tofu for our protein and I didn't expect the soup to only have tofu and a few mushrooms. I wish there had been some type of green vegetable in the soup too. Had hands down one of the best meals of my life here!! Came here for dinner for my birthday with four friends and we shared everything family style. We had the Tom Kha soup which I could've drank a whole barrel of. I hate that I am saying this but from all the promoted social media marketing I saw on this place from influencers was misleading, my expectations were much higher. Context: I've been eating solid Thai food for years also in the motherland. Tbh e-sans and other Thai food carts have better developed umami in the noodle dishes compared to here. And for less cost. This place has super small portions. Dish reviews: - Pad see ew noodles were more greasy than flavorful. We got beef and there wasn't much meat. This noodle dish was served with 2 blanched bokchoy, like why? Blanched bokchoy really takes away from the flavor of the dish and makes it off putting. Broccoli or Chinese broccoli is a staple for this dish and not having it in this dish missed out on broccoli absorbing the sauce into the veggies and being charred while stir fried. But BLANCHED bokchoy?! The Laos/Thai aunties are crying somewhere. - Pad Thai noodles were saucy but flavor was lacking the tamarind tangy ness. Just bland. But overall cooked ok. - The crab fried rice was solid though, a bit fishy tasting but the rice texture, aromatics, and rich butter essence was worth the price. Would buy this again! Stay away from the "krab rolls" - literally imitation krab with a mozzarella stick deep fried in an egg roll wrapper. It's not bad, but for 3 at that price point of $10 is kind of ridiculous for a money grab. This isn't Vegas. Overall we ate everything (because Asian guilt upbringing) but I probably wouldn't return here. The small seating arrangement inside is super off putting, and during the summer heat they do have ac. We got there late, between 10-11, so we were the only people. The converted dining room is charming and welcoming, and the cutlery is beautiful. Our server was very friendly and accommodating! We were given a complimentary cucumber salad to start and cucumber-lemon water, and for a starter we tried the shrimp cakes w/lychee and spicy mayo. For main, my bf ordered the pad see ew and a small bowl of the Tom kha. I ordered the avocado curry, which was new to me. All the food was wonderfully flavored, light, and delicious! There were other things on the menu like the sea bass that we will have to try for special occasions! The food: Delicious. Truly. My partner and I ordered our go-to dishes for trying a new Thai place--Tom Kha, Pad Thai, and a curry (this time, the Avocado Green Curry). Slam dunks all around. The Tom Kha was delicate but not bland. The Pad Thai was flavorful--not overly sweet or peanutty--and the tofu we picked for a protein was the perfect texture. The curry was delightfully complex without being too spicy, and on top of that, it was probably the most beautiful presentation I've seen on a table in a long while. We got to talking with the chef when he came to ask how we were enjoying our meal. Turns out, he spent years working in Michelin star restaurants in Las Vegas, which certainly explains the immaculate plating. If you eat with your eyes first, it's a shock I didn't fill up before my first bite. If you're in the area and in the mood for Thai, give this place a try. My friend told me that this was owned by a former michelin star chef and i totally believe him. the ambience was so gentle and inviting, i felt like i was in someone's kitchen dinner table. the setup in general was soothing, and for a really cold and windy day, the vibe was everything i needed in that moment.
