Out of towner here. This place was delicious. We ordered the chicken wings, pad thai, drunken noodle, sticky rice and mango, and cashew garlic chicken. Those wings were phenomenal and crispy. unfortunately had a terrible experience. found the operating hours are not always accurate and the workers lazy (?) reviews are high and food inages looks delicious but very strange operation.. when i showed at the restaurant front around 4pm (place supposably closes at 9pm), despite the door sign saying "open" the door was locked. the restaurant lights was clearly lit and tables were set but no one could be seen inside. after another attempt to open the door and knock, my friend and i look thru the window and see an worker taking a nap in one of the booths. that worker then made eye contact and even smiled at us but didnt go to open the door, let alone move. in fact she just went to using her phone and back to napping. we were appalled. apparently a few other ppl have had similar experiences. i was really excited for the food but unfortunately i cant support this business who wont put efforts to serve or will ignore willing customers read more

Came here for dinner for the first time with my husband and it was lovely. The space is cozy and while we the only ones dining in at the time, the place stayed busy with take out orders. As we were leaving another couple came to dine it, which was nice to see. The food was prepared fast and it was hot and delicious. I had the Panang curry and my spouse had the Pad See Ew with chicken. Both were medium spiced; the curry had lots of vegetables and a delicious red broth. I came here with my date to grab some Thai food before a show. We both had some hot tea which was perfect for a cold rainy day. I ordered the green curry with seafood and it was made Thai spicy. I did enjoy it and was very flavorful. I wish there was just a little more seafood. Parking is on the street and could see issues on busier days. Overall I would come back. read more

Everything was bland and over cooked the meat inedible and the noodles and fried rice uninteresting. Nearly no vegetables in anything. Great Portions. Tasted delicious. And priced right. Asked for hot and it's actually hot. $14 for a lunch pad kee mao. It had the right amount of umami and wok taste. Would definitely go back for lunch when in the area. One thing is they never asked for my spice level and default was mild. Which made me mildly sad. I forgot to request for spice. Updated review. Prices have gone $1 up The Drunken Noodles. I give it a 5/5. Recommend. Pad Thai 2.5/5 it's super saucy with the red sauce. More on the sweeter wet side if you like that. I go by this place pretty often since it's connected to Loyal Legion on 6th St. I'll be honest, it wasn't what we expected because the place had a small number of reviews and we were the only ones dining in. I forgot to take a picture of it, but we ordered an order of drunken noodles and kao soi. The picture provided is a picture of the Kao Soi. It's a creamy soup with noodles in the broth, with a side of dry noodles. Now it may sound like it's a weird combo, but once those dry noodles soak in, you get a combination of textures that work very well together. This level of deliciousness in a Kao Soi is very hard to find. Everything about it was very delicious and they do not skimp on the toppings or protein. The drunken noodles were also very good. I tend to like a little more sauce to my drunken noodles and this place did a good job of providing that. Overall, I would highly recommend this place because I feel like it will have a line out the door soon. I love this place and will be coming back frequently. read more

Cambodian approved! We ordered the original fried chicken wings (not pictured, we were too hungry) it had no breading which I prefer, tastes like how mom would fry up at home. Had tons of flavor, super crispy skin with fried garlic sprinkled on top. The veggie jade curry was fragrant and flavorful with that spicy heat that was perfect and the variety of veggies were fresh. The pork belly fried rice was good as well (how my dad would cook it), light on the oil with a slight golden crispness with each bite. Everything was served very quick, we ordered and waited maybe 10min for each dish to arrive. Portions were a good size and could be easily shared between 3-4 ppl so we had left overs to take back home. Service was great! Come here for some Thai home cooking. The most memorable thing about this place was the warm & friendly service. The lady who served us was so kind & seemed really excited to feed us. I felt like I was being comforted by a Thai grandmother (': The decor inside gives the same vibe; kitschy like my grandma's house with a good balance of Asian decor... also like my grandma's house! As for the food, it was perfectly good but not the best. I shared curry as well as mango & sticky rice with my boyfriend and I gotta say I was a little disappointed flavor-wise. Maybe it was my fault for ordering a medium spice level, but the curry was not as flavorful as I would have liked. The mango was not sweet nor sour & the sticky rice was also a little underwhelming. Still, everything was enjoyable & if I lived in this area I would come back again & again to try different things on the menu with different spice levels! We walked in on a rainy Thurday night for dinner and once seated my daughter informed me this wasn't the Thai restaurant she wanted us to go to ! Oops. This place is small and very average. Not at all quaint or particularly inviting place at all and the waitress had next to no sense of humor. For an appetizer we had Chicken Satay and it was basically, meh. Just OK. Not spicy, not moist, not delicious and I didn't want more of it. My daughter had Duck noodle soup and it was not spectacular. She let me eat half of the duck pieces as she felt they weren't particularly good and I concurred. I ordered Egg Plant with a seafood combination for the protein choice. It was good but the egg plant was mushier than any I've ever had and that was a turn off. Overall the place is OK not terrible but I wish she'd have had us leave once we realized we walked into the wrong place. read more

This is a super average Thai restaurant. We had fish sauce wings that had no discernible fish sauce taste and pretty much tasted the same as our other dishes which were all forgettable. It is definitely a step down from the Thai place that used to occupy the same corner. read more

Thai Vintage took over the space that used to belong to Tarad Thai that I absolutely loved. I believe Tarad Thai was connected to Earl Ninsom from Langbaan and Paadee and the food at Tarad was fantastic. I loved their Pad Thai and noodle soups at Tarad. So I was deeply saddened when they closed shop. This was my first time at Thai Vintage and I was worried before dining here bc I've had so many good meals under the previous ownership and was worried that this wouldn't live up. I got the Pad Thai and it was a good rendition...it was $13 dollars and was a decent sized portion. It was one of the better pad thai renditions I've had in Portland but still feels a notch below the old Tarad version. Flavors were solid but it was much too sweet but I did appreciate that the flavors seemed on point and not too white washed. I asked for it to be prepared spicy and the thing came out thai hot. It was unexpected but I managed. My only complaint was that there was very little amounts of beef included in the portion. I really miss how the Tarad version could be modified and rolled up into an omelette too. Oh well this was a decent option and something I might get for take out occasionally. Parking is a little more difficult these days since there's a lot less options for free street parking compared to years before x. read more

We just ordered their pad Thai specials (crab pad Thai and the lemongrass pad Thai) and were very delighted that the food was packed with so much flavor and wasn't dry like some places. The service is top notch and food is good by Portland Thai standards. The spice was ok at the l4 out of 5 level. The big star of the night was the spicy green bean sauce. Super casual and homey spot on the Eastside. Not the biggest space but they made the most of it with a decent number of tables and eclectic decors. At least on a weeknight, it looked like there were barely two people working but service was still decently fast and super friendly. Menu offers a wide variety of classix Thai dishes and some house specials. I enjoyed my Lemongrass Chicken Pad Thai, albeit it being on the sweet side (it's kinda what I was expecting). They did do the charring of the noodles well and portion was very generous. Interesting addition of a side peanut sauce. Parts of the dish, like the chicken, was cold while the noodles were perfectly fresh and hot so I assumed they have the chicken made way beforehand. Their Honey Duck was also tasty. Crispy skin, tender meat. Kinda surprised by the quality of this one, to be honest. Again, generous portion and came with plenty of rice. All in all, a decent Thai spot. This was a cute place to eat! Good variety of food (authentic flavors), and service was prompt. The food was very sweet, which is normal for Thai food, but it was a little too sweet for me. Very nice staff. I had Phanaeng curry. It was supposed to be Thai spicy. It was just spicy but not Thai spicy, IMHO. I had it with tofu which as any tofu pretty much has no taste so I can't evaluate how the chicken version would taste. BTW, chicken Phanaeng was what was listed on my receipt because if you want to order vegetarian meal in this restaurant, you have to ask for it since vegetarian options are not mentioned on their menu. The curry sauce was not as thick as I expected. It was a little bit on a watery side. Also since this was a takeout, I decided to add some more veggies at home. What was a little bit disappointing was that my takeout order was given to me in a plastic bag - in Portland and on the Earth day. Considering that they have no free parking and my meal was $13, it's probably not a great bargain read more

I crave Thai Vintage yellow curry at least once a week. A little spicy and so flavorful. I order the veggie and it lasts a good two meals and the veggies are never soggy, always perfectly crisp. The Tom kha is also exceptional, creamy and a little spicy but the lemongrass comes through so well. I'm literally getting hungry again writing this review. read more
