UPDATE 5/6/2022: I ordered my go-to order of Red Curry and was looking forward to eating something really warm for my throat since I was feeling under the weather. I had to throw the entire curry away because it was SO SALTY, and I NEVER throw away food. There was so much salt in this curry that it actually BURNED my THROAT from how salty it was. I honestly think that they must've spilled a bag of salt in this batch of curry today. I revoke my 5 star review due to their lack of consistency and inadequate customer service. OLD REVIEW: Charm Thai is one of the best Thai restaurants in Winston-Salem. If you're looking for an authentic Thai experience, then look no further. Why visit Thai Teeter when there's a place like Charm Thai in downtown? My personal favorite dishes are their Red Curry and Pad See Ew. Let me know what you think when you dine with them! First timer here and it was an excellent choice of dinner on a Friday night. Many places had long wait times and me and my friend were able to get in here with no wait. The server was pleasant and fast. The restaurant had a quiet and relaxing ambiance. The food was delicious. The only downfall is that there was no sushi at the time.

Let me start off by saying OMG this place was sooooo good! Visiting Winston Salem for a color guard show and decided to make it an entire weekend. Grabbed one of the Spin bikes chose a direction and we were on our way. We had spent the day roaming downtown, saw some local talented musicians and tried a few cocktail spots so food was a definite need. We stumble across CT and what a beautiful find. Charm Thai (CT) had what we both needed. My partner loves Pad Thai and I love everything broths and noodles. Needless to say we got everything we needed and more. The food was delicious, well prepared and seasoned. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend them to anyone and I can't wait to try them again. We enjoyed them so much on Saturday that we tried going back on Sunday but they were closed. Bummer lol

Who doesn't love a hot bowl of pho on a cold night? Their broth is sweet. I love the tendon it was nice and soft. The crab Rangoon and their dipping sauce were my favorite. We also got the sparkling peach sake and it was very refreshing!

Great food, so good I ate there 2 days in a row while in town for a conference. Located Downtown.

I've literally tried every Thai place in Winston Salem and with my honesty, this is the best one! Authentic and delicious.

Food is good very close to authentic thai. Place was not too busy, but we went there around 6:00 pm. I liked the decor, a very specious place. We ordered Basil Fried rice with egg, and Spring rolls. Place serves alcohol as well. Presentation of food is amazing.

If you want very bland food, we ordered the Crab Rangoon, Spring Rolls, Pad Thai Pork, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and one bottle of Sake to split

My family got together for supper and decided to try the Charm Thai (April 10, 2018). If you have read my many reviews, I do not say negative things! However, the food at this Thai restaurant was so absent of flavor, that I needed to warn others. We ordered the Crab Rangoon, Spring Rolls, Pad Thai Pork, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and one bottle of Sake to split. I have enjoyed Thai food all over the world and this was void of any of the Thai spices and flavors I am accustomed. We all tried each other's dishes and we all agreed on the lack of flavor. If you are looking for a Thai place that will probably not upset your stomach with spices, this is the place to eat! Most Sincerely......:-(

I decided to try out Charm Thai recently. This order came via Uber Eats so i can't speak to inside dining experience. Now I love thai food and have had some of the best. Unfortunately, this did not fall into that category. I ordered the Pad khee Mao, which is a wide noodle with ground chicken and veggies. The dish lacked any spice and flavor. I looooooove to eat some food, but I didn't even have a desire to finish it. Even worse, it made me very sick on my stomach the rest of the day:( Gave them two stars because the spring rolls were really good

We were in downtown Winston on a cold Saturday night and wanted to eat some delicious food. On the initial visit, I enjoyed the Tom Yum soup, veggie spring rolls, spaghetti Pad Ke Mao, and the Thai coconut custard. The Tom Yum soup was good, it was light but flavorful. I enjoy a Tom Yum which has more of a kick. The Spaghetti Pad Ke Mao was my favorite item on the menu. I always wondered what Thai food would taste like with Italian noodles/pasta. It tastes great, similar to the Indian Chinese dishes. The Coconut custard is surprisingly good, unlike anything I have had to be honest. It is hard to describe the taste, but defiantly something one must try once in a while. The service is excellent, super friendly and reasonably fast!

Was strolling around downtown and saw quite a few customers through the window. The drunken noodles had great flavor. The staff wore masks and were friendly and attentive.

I just touched down in Winston-Salem and was craving some Thai food! Luckily Charm Thai was just outside my hotel, and had some good ratings, so I gave it a try. I ordered take out- one Pad See Eew, and one order of steamed dumplings from the appetizer menu. The steamed dumplings are actually more like Shu Mai that you get at Dim Sum, but were really good. However, the pad see eew was not the best, as it lacked flavor. Maybe I am just really use to the pad see eew I get in Washington, DC, but this dish was unfortunately mediocre.

They have Malaysian food and a specialty menu for khmer food. Khmer food is not knowned much in the east but its beginning to be more learned about and popular. There food is rich in flavor and there cuisine is mostly known for there use of fresh herbs, coconut milk and aromatic spice paste;known as kroeung(lemon grass paste). I decided to try some entrees from the Khmer menu. I tryed the Malaysian Roti appetizer with side curry. It is so so delicous. The curry is tasty too but a little too sweet for my taste. Main entrees I tryed was the chicken kroeung (sour lemongrass soup) and the braised pork meat on bone cooked in soy sauce( Malaysian style but Khmer people have a similar dish). The chicken kroeung is soup for the soul, filled with alot of green veggies and best eaten with white rice. The braised pork meat is great too. Cooked just right and seasoned good. Its not sweet or salty. Usually I would try braised meat in soy at other restaurants either it would be way too sweet or salty but they made theres just right. Now the Southeastern asian cooking is not for everybody or those who have only tried chinese or japanese food. If you'd like to try something different but oh sooo delicous, khmer cusine is for you!! The staff is very welcoming, friendly and informative. Food came out hot, quick and tasty(bursting of aromatic flavors). I met the owner too. He mentioned he also have a donut shop called Intown donuts and Boba tea..down the road on Jonestown Road. Will definitely dine here again and try there other menu items. Next time am going to try the donut shop before I come here since it closed earlier.

I really wish Winston Salem had a great Banh Mi available. There are some good Pho restaurants but…read morethey don't serve Banh Mi usually and when they do it's not quite the authentic version I'm looking for. I had the Banh Mi at What Da Pho in the past and remember it was good so that's what I ordered this time. Additionally we ordered crab wontons and summer rolls. The restaurant is a little hidden but if you park in the parking structure adjacent to the restaurant it's super easy to get inside. First impressions are it's quiet- no music in the dining room, and the decor is sort of an afterthought with scotch tape holding LED lights to the walls and some Asian inspired pictures but not very well thought out. It's Ok, I'm not coming for the decor. The service is a little lacking. They are giving the bare minimum here so don't expect your server to be too friendly. The crab wontons and summer rolls arrived quickly. The crab wontons were super hot and crispy right from the deep fryer. They were filled with a delicious imitation crab and cream cheese mixture and when dipped in the sweet chili sauce they were exactly the thing I was craving. The summer rolls were equally as fresh and delicious. The filling of cold rice noodles, crisp lettuce and shrimp then dipped in the accompanying peanut sauce was just as delicious. We ordered one pork and one beef Banh Mi. The first thing I noticed was how plentiful the meat was in each one. Usually it's a light sandwich but these were very hefty in comparison to others I've had. My meat was very savory and had a very tender texture, almost like pot roast. It was also the juiciest pork I've ever had in a Banh mi. The picked vegetables were also really good but both our sandwiches were missing the jalapeno I've come to expect. My husband really enjoyed his beef one as well but we both noticed how the bread lacked that crusty flaky quality that Vietnamese baguettes normally have. This was more of a sub roll with a chewy texture and softer crust. The flavors were great, I just missed the textures I have come to expect in an authentic Banh mi. Our spot in Greensboro will still be my favorite but when I don't want to trek out that far, I can get my fix at What Da Pho.

Blackberry sage had a muddled, interesting flavor to it. Think wine-y but not quite that either. The mixed berry needed more berry flavor but was okay. Lavender was best out of all, but it was teetering on sickly, almost had too much lavender syrup. For entrees, I ordered the puffy Pete chicken tacos. They came out with crema on it when I ordered it on the side, but it was quickly rectified. The portion was good. I was full by the end. The flavor was okay. Chicken cooked fine. But it didn't have much of a sweet heat kick to it without the jalapeños added. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily get it again when we go back. My fiancé ordered the Houston beef puffy taco. He thought the taco was very filling. It had meat falling out of it, which was good. It tasted like a typical ground beef taco. He hoped the chorizo would elevate it, but it didn't. It was similar to a Taco Bell beef taco. Overall, decent tacos, and it helped that it was big for the price. We want to visit again, but we'll try other menu items and stick with water. The music was fine. Country and nothing stuck out. Service was fine.
