Instead, the menu was filled with things like hamburgers, hot dogs, wings, and seafood boils, which felt very out of place. Our table ordered a variety of different meals, and not a single person was impressed. My chicken was dry, rubbery, and chewy, and I couldn't even finish my meal because it was so unappetizing. It felt like a complete waste of money. Unfortunately, the poor food quality, questionable cleanliness, and lack of authentic Mexican options mean we won't be returning. It gave me the impression that the chefs have carefully selected dishes they do especially well and have taken the time to perfect. Before our meal, we were brought several different salsas to sample with chips, which was such a nice way to start the experience. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken enchiladas with mole, and they were very good. The presentation here is beautiful, and you can tell a lot of attention goes into the plating. Unfortunately, my stomach was a little upset afterward, but I think the mole was simply richer than what I'm accustomed to. For dessert, our server recommended the pumpkin cheesecake, and that ended up being the highlight of my meal. It was absolutely delicious! I believe the dessert and soup selections change from day to day, which is a nice touch and gives you something different to try on another visit. La Frida is a lovely choice for celebrating a special occasion or enjoying a nice date night.
