It has been awhile since I reviewed Charquitas - and as we all know it is an up and down world when it comes to grub. Well, once again everything was great from this gem of an expanded food truck. The gentlemen inside of the truck are super friendly and nice. The whip up your Mexican favorites to order. Most importantly, in a time where everything feels really expensive, the prices/portions are great. I say this confidently after trying a couple of other Mexican places in the last couple of weeks on par with Charquitas. My husband got the 5 tacos for $11.99 and I got the 2 taco combo... hey, it was Taco Tuesday what can I say? Tacos were tasty, and big. They have a nice condiment bar in the little indoor dining area adjacent to the truck. My favorite, is the hot carrots they have bagged for their customers. The salsa verde is also VERY good! We have a few options at this level out in the Vail/Corona area and Charquitas is by far my favorite both north and south of the I-10.

Service was great. The staff member was really nice. I enjoy the lighting for the evening. The #8 Super Breakfast burrito was super delicious. The California Burrito was good, I tasted mostly cheese, so next time I'll just get a Super burrito. Another friend ordered the Carnitas Plates and really enjoyed it.

So so good! Very friendly staff. Love the breakfast burritos and all the other burritos especially the red Chile, green chili and carnitas burros. The nachos are delicious and HUGE! We get them with carnitas or adobada...Enough for 2! My wife loves the toritos (bacon wrapped cheese stuffed jalapeños) We love having this local spot here in Corona and hit it up almost every week. Give them a try...You won't be disappointed!

OMGosh!!! Food truck nirvana!!! I just found this out Harley riding. This is BY FAR the BEST MEXICAN I've had in Arizona!!! Better than any brick & mortar. I tipped $2 and once I got started I went back to the window and gave them more$$. There is a table outside under cover beside the truck. Then they have a indoor enclosure with bench seats. A cooler with a variety of salsas & cooked onions & carrots. A cold water sink. Sadly. No bathrooms. But next door is a Ace Hardware. This is a definite come visit. I will be back.

Food was good, service was fast, much better than a typical food truck meal for sure.

Soo good! I always get the Asada nachos, it's enough to feed two if you feel like sharing... and the breakfast burritos are amazing.

And Hermanos has one of the better ones I've had so far. It was juicy, seasoned and a solid cut of beef, meaning it had no grisle and wasn't flat or too small. I placed a to-go order, so I can't comment too much on service, but the restaurant looks nice and I do intend returning for a sit down. I also had the Chicharron and that was very good also. All around enjoyed my food.

The chips were stale, and the salsa was one of the worst I've had. It was an odd pale grayish-pink color and lacked the fresh flavor you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. The menu itself was surprising. For a restaurant advertising itself as Mexican, there were very few actual Mexican entrées to choose from. Instead, the menu was filled with things like hamburgers, hot dogs, wings, and seafood boils, which felt very out of place. Our table ordered a variety of different meals, and not a single person was impressed. My chicken was dry, rubbery, and chewy, and I couldn't even finish my meal because it was so unappetizing. It felt like a complete waste of money. Unfortunately, the poor food quality, questionable cleanliness, and lack of authentic Mexican options mean we won't be returning. We were warned by some locals to go elsewhere, we should've listened. Our waitress was nice though...

The interior is visually congested, not in a bad way but with lots of decor, seating, movement areas and etc. It makes a feeling of the space being busy and distracting. I prefer calmer spaces but it's not terrible. Service was prompt, frequent and wonderful. An older woman came by and asked how we wanted salsa and made us a bowl which was INCREDIBLE! So savory, spicy, fresh and left me wanting more. (You get a certain amount salsa and chips per person than you gotta pay). It was literally perfect. We weren't super hungry and wanted to share, to us the serving was more than enough for two. We enjoyed a house rocks margarita, grilled steak fajitas with rice and beans, sides of sour cream and guacamole and also some chips and salsa. It was all very well made, came out steaming and was very satisfying. The space felt cold to me, but seemed fine to all else. So just a note there if you run on the warmer side. I don't know if they do reservations, but I would imagine on some nights it would be a good idea seeing as they seem very busy.

Which, you know, is kind of the whole point of a restaurant. The atmosphere was great, a little on the nose, but great none the less. It feels like a Mexican dinner or at least what I imagined a dinner in Mexico would look like. The staff where beyond amazing, especially the woman who made our complementary salsa right at the table. And the salsa was yummy but sadly that's the only part of the meal that I can say that about. The thing is, nothing was truly bad, but just about everything was incredibly bland. You'd have expected someone who puts raisins in potato salad to have served it, not an authentic Mexican restaurant. Though the positive is the lack of seasoning is really the only major problem. The food did not have any weird taste, it wasn't dry, the presentation was fine. It simply needs to be seasoned and this place goes to a solid 4/5 rather than a three.
