It has been awhile since I reviewed Charquitas - and as we all know it is an up and down world when it comes to grub. Well, once again everything was great from this gem of an expanded food truck. The gentlemen inside of the truck are super friendly and nice. The whip up your Mexican favorites to order. Most importantly, in a time where everything feels really expensive, the prices/portions are great. I say this confidently after trying a couple of other Mexican places in the last couple of weeks on par with Charquitas. My husband got the 5 tacos for $11.99 and I got the 2 taco combo... hey, it was Taco Tuesday what can I say? Tacos were tasty, and big. They have a nice condiment bar in the little indoor dining area adjacent to the truck. My favorite, is the hot carrots they have bagged for their customers. The salsa verde is also VERY good! We have a few options at this level out in the Vail/Corona area and Charquitas is by far my favorite both north and south of the I-10. read more

Service was great. The staff member was really nice. I enjoy the lighting for the evening. The #8 Super Breakfast burrito was super delicious. The California Burrito was good, I tasted mostly cheese, so next time I'll just get a Super burrito. Another friend ordered the Carnitas Plates and really enjoyed it. read more

Always a winner! These guys work like crazy, serving up good and fast meals. We've never had a bad meal. The burritos are massive and we love the carnitas and carne asada. Splitting nachos on a Friday night makes for an easy dinner after work. read more

So so good! Very friendly staff. Love the breakfast burritos and all the other burritos especially the red Chile, green chili and carnitas burros. The nachos are delicious and HUGE! We get them with carnitas or adobada...Enough for 2! My wife loves the toritos (bacon wrapped cheese stuffed jalapeños) We love having this local spot here in Corona and hit it up almost every week. So, I wrote about this place before. I'm a southern Arizona native, born and raised. I have lived out of state the past few years but always come to visit family a few weeks a year. Anyway I'm here a little longer this time helping out some family and the past month been looking for my favorite Sonoran dog. My first was at El Guero Canelos in the late 90's. So it's been one of my favorites for years. Today, I ordered one here.... Amazing! Absolutely the best I've had in years! I'll definitely be coming back! The portions of food are large, tastes great and it's priced reasonably . I definitely say best Mexican food in the Rita Ranch, Vail, Corona and Green Valley area! Give them a shot! read more

Food is good. But if you use your card, they will always charge more, then the receipt says. This is fraud. You think your paying $17, you leave cash in tip jar. But then on your bank statement, you get a charge for $21. So including the cash tip you leave, you end paying $25, for a menu item advertised at $13.99. They ALWAYS do this! The menu prices, and what you pay, never match. And on top of this, they are not consistent with prices. You can order the same thing, 3 times in a row. And pay a different price, each time. Any time you bring it up with them, they are rude, and play it off, like you are crazy. And act like they don't understand, what you are saying. NEVER USE YOUR CARD HERE! read more

OMGosh!!! Food truck nirvana!!! I just found this out Harley riding. This is BY FAR the BEST MEXICAN I've had in Arizona!!! Better than any brick & mortar. I tipped $2 and once I got started I went back to the window and gave them more$$. There is a table outside under cover beside the truck. Then they have a indoor enclosure with bench seats. A cooler with a variety of salsas & cooked onions & carrots. A cold water sink. Sadly. No bathrooms. But next door is a Ace Hardware. This is a definite come visit. I will be back. read more

ok this is one of only a few places nearby where we live and I have used the grub hub app to order off of this place numerous times. Only had one time where they were slow and that was with a different cook than usual so I chock that up to that. This place makes great food and I recommend it if you're in the area. Most all of the breakfast burritos are good and the tacquitos with guac and cheese is one of my go-to feasts. Now get ya some! Yelp on! read more

We've been coming to this food truck for years. Tonight, we ordered several food containers to-go. When we got home to try to eat the items, we were disgusted by the stench and taste of the food. It tasted like the smell of wet dog; seriously. It also tasted like the smell of cleaning products. Yum! Authentic & delicious! I had the carnitas plate & the hubs had the adobada plate. We both enjoyed the meal sitting at the outdoor table under a shady cover. Service was ok for a food truck, not super friendly, but not rude either. When in the area we would definitely return. read more

I'm about done with this food truck. The food is over priced. The younger kid with the bowl cut is a smart ass and rude. They run out of propane and a customer who lives in the area goes to get them a another tank. He didn't even bother saying thank you or offer to cover the guys food. Then Bowl cut kid messes my order up I go back not 5 minutes later to get it fixed and he charges me again. They are the rudest and most ungrateful people. Sure as hell dont care how they treat people or the amount of time it they make people wait. I have to give them a 5 star for a Mexican tasty food in Corona de Tucson, $5.00 for a carne asada taco is good, a big portion with doble corn tortillas, plus fresh pico de Gallo and guacamole. I highly recommend. Yummy read more

Huge portions but it's super expensive considering you can go anywhere on the south side and it's half the price. So if you don't care what you spend then go here. But if you're on a budget and/or care about over paying, go to the south side or to the place across from Dairy Queen. read more

So, since my last review I eat here 3 or 4 times a week. I found something I really love and it keeps dragging me back. The super fries are so freaking good. It has Carne Asada, guacamole, pico de Gallo, sour cream and cheese. I order mine with extra sour cream and no guacamole. They jam pack the fries with meat and it's well the 10.50. It can last me 2 or 3 meals. I do wish they were a bit faster. Overall very good read more

BUYER BEWARE- keep your receipt & check what they actually charge & decide if you want them to decide your tip (UNDOCUMENTED) & IF it was worth it. We went & got burritos here on 8/24/23. Clerk asked if we wanted receipt, which we said yes & was given the receipt. When checking credit card statement, noticed that charge was more than receipt. Called the phone number on receipt & questioned about difference. Employee stated they were not there then & didn't know why they were different. Asked for the person that does the books. Was told that was Carlos & he would be there Monday 8-5. Asked the employee what I was to do if Carlos states he was not there on Sunday when we purchased & wouldn't know why the difference. Employee states he added TIP to receipt as HE NEEDED MORE MONEY. I am curious HOW MANY people do not compare their receipts to charges & HOW MUCH $$$ in TIPS this employee makes. I am also curious as to what this employer pays their employees that would make the employees STEAL tips from credit cards from customers that do not check their receipts. TIPS are voluntary & given for good service. I will NEVER return to this establishment, as this is not good business. My credit card refunded my 'TIP' & Carlos asked what he could give me when I called on Monday. I told him nothing as I am NEVER returning to his business, as he employees a theif. We've eaten here a few times now. My husband loves the breakfast burrito-and they are huge! I've had pollo asada and carne asada and I have really enjoyed them. For the life of me, I can't understand the good reviews this place has. The food is 5/10 At best and is low quality and nothing special in flavor. Definitely not authentic Mexican if that's what you're looking for. Despite this, I've given the place multiple tries because there aren't a lot of choices if you want something fast and close here in Corona. But the worst part is actually the guy's attitude. It can't just be me?? He has a bad attitude each and every time I've gone. The first couple of times I thought I just fought him on a bad day but I now see that's not the case. He could not care any less about his customers. Grumbles at you, and no matter how many smiles , please and thank you's you throw his way you'll never get one back. I'm convinced the only reason people keep going is because same as me, there's only a few options if you live nearby and want food fast. I'm thirteen and go here all the time with my friends. Im not sure how it is for adults but for younger people this place is a godsend. Large portions for a cheap-ish price. The food quality is always great and probably the best food truck mexican food I've ever had. For kids its safe to bike too without a car. You take the multi-use path near the middle school to get to black hawk and then take the golf course trail to Ace and Charquitas. It is pricey for a Nico's burrito style food. One taco is $3.99, granted it is a lot of meat, it's poorer quality meat, but I would still eat the leftovers. No sides included and it is quite a wait to get food unless you call well in advance. This is the third time I've gone and same results. read more
