Giving a three-star rating - this place was fine, but didn't knock our socks off. The strawberry lemonade was very good and came in a large mason jar. I ordered the charred salad which was okay. The brownie sundae looks good, but honestly I wouldn't order it again. We were told the wait would be 40 minutes and got sat in only about 15. The only problem I saw was that instead of calling out your name, you HAVE to be watching for a text or you'll get skipped. Okay, hold the phone, what? Is it just me or is this like an amazing burger? Like, probably one of the best burgers I've ever had I might even say. Omaha has a pretty strong burger game everywhere, but I just continue to be impressed. I came here for dinner on Labor Day, super glad they were open on both a Monday and Labor Day. The service was great. We were seated immediately, got our orders placed promptly, and our food came surprisingly quickly. Shared some cheese curds and I ordered the Fungi burger which includes mushroom, Swiss cheese and truffle aioli. If you want the burger cooked anything other than medium, you do have to specify though, we weren't asked. Okay, for how fast the food came, it had no right being that delicious honestly. I admit that I'm pretty generous with the amount of 5 star ratings I give out, but this place is definitely a 10/10 5 star rating in my opinion, not a 9/10 5 star rating that you decide to round up because you can't give half star ratings. I would like to start off with our experience in which I wish looking back we would have listened to the first red flag about this place. Starting with drinks my husband got a draft Michelob which taste was sooo off and bitter that he could not continue to drink he mentioned to server and was given another option. Server later comes and confesses that he also tried the beer and noticed that it did not taste right. When we got our burgers everything was fine when eating them but after leaving the restaurant 20 minutes later my husband and I get this very unpleasant feeling in our stomachs. To not get to tmi , my husband and I are currently super sick from our stomachs. I really hardly do not recommend this place they really need an inspection done especially having all these reviews of undercooked food. We opted to sit outside because they have this great patio that is completely covered and therefore completely shaded and so even though it was hot outside it was quite nice out there. In town for a basketball tourney and needed a good bite after the game. Stumbled onto this gem and wasn't disappointed. We were all craving burgers and Charred lived up to the hype. I took my six year old here for lunch the other day. The place was jam packed, but they managed to find a seat outside for us. Bringing my daughter some blocks to play with while we waited for our food was a nice touch. The service in general was very friendly and efficient. The food itself was excellent. The children's menu is reasonably priced and comes with a burger or chicken along with fries, a drink and a cookie. My burger was delicious. One of the best I've had in Omaha. The seasoning and quality of the beef were on point. We sat on the patio, which is probably at it's best in the fall and spring. We've been here a few times before and have always been impressed with their burgers and service. My husband and I specifically went here on a date night recently for a "moderately" priced dinner. We were seated right away and got our drink orders in pretty quickly as well. Refills always came at appropriate times. Our server was great and super personable when we he came, but you could tell he was almost working half the restaurant. Totally get that most places are short staffed so we came with patience and grace. Now onto the food... This may be my fault but I ordered their grilled chicken sandwich instead of a burger (which I usually do). After the second bite, I realized the texture was WAY OFF. I cut it in half to see if there was any pink in the middle to indicate rawness. There was no pink but it definitely felt like biting into raw chicken- I was almost afraid to eat it because food poisoning is not my thing. I brought it to our server's attention and he said "Sometimes we just get a cut of chicken like that." So that tells me this is maybe a known issue in their chicken? I also would have loved to be given the choice for an alternate sandwich...I had only taken 2 bites still at this point. He offered to give me a fork and knife so I could eat it that way...not that utensils would alter the texture. Towards the end I quit eating because of my oral aversion to the texture. My husband even tried a bite and said it felt like biting into raw chicken. Meh! My only suggestion is to maybe find a different chicken vendor or steer people away from the chicken sandwich. We did also end up getting the fried croissant with cinnamon sugar, bacon, and ice cream. That was really good mixture of sweet, salty, and greasiness ;) This dessert was complimentary of the Food Lovers app, which you should totally get! Little disappointed in Charred this time around (insert sad face). The host was really bad, I mean bad. He wasn't at the stand when we came and took several minutes to get there. Upon greeting, he said we would need to wait until a table was cleared. We counted at least 6 tables that weren't bussed, now unless Charred has a different policy for their hosts, this guy could have gone and cleared a couple tables instead of chilling behind the host stand. Eventually, after a server cleared almost their whole section, the host went and partially bussed one table. After 5 minutes in the back, and what would be our server, cleaned all his tables by himself, we were seated. Service was awesome. One of our burgers was under seasoned, but still pretty awesome.
