    Cruising chicken salad

This is a favorite lunch spot. A great place to meet for wonderful food, share a chocolate malt and have space for great conversation. The menu has so many choices- I favor the burgers and soups, but there is something for every taste bud. Quality is high and prices are reasonable. Park in back for a private lot or right in front, if one of the spots is open. Certainly an Omaha gem, add Goldberg's to your list if you haven't tried it.

View from our seat outside. We got a kick out of this truck with a large minion character holding American flag.

We enjoyed our meal at Goldbergs on a late Saturday evening. We got there around 9 PM and found a spot outside. It was kind of fun sitting out on Dodge Street and watching the traffic go by, although it was pretty noisy. My husband ordered a burger and I settled on the grilled cheese. Both were really tasty and satisfying. I enjoyed the addition of spinach, tomato and red onion to mine. I would say the portion sizes were also very appropriate. Sometimes when you go to burger places the portions are just way too large, but this was perfect. I do you have to gripe about the fact that I ordered a side salad and there was a decent amount of wilted and slimy lettuce in there. I have absolutely no tolerance for that as it is very easy to spot and pick out. Other than that, our service was good and for our two entrées and a couple of drinks our bill was $32. What a deal!

While eating my cheeseburger (which I have always liked here), it occurred to me is that the Big Bronco is actually better and surely a better value. That should not be the case. Now I was in Dundee and I had just come from Film Streams, but the geography is not worth that much. The really distressing thing to me was paying $2.50 for a tiny portion of quite average cole slaw. I detect this trend as a new revenue enhancer. The Bass Ale on tap nearly made up for the above, but not quite.

I've always loved Goldbergs but having moved away from Omaha several years ago I kind of forgot about it until I drove past today. I stopped in for lunch and had s great experience. My server Vanessa was great and attentive. I was on a lunch break so I was in a bit of a rush but the service and food were great. I'd recommend their chili or soup to start your meal. Today I had the buffalo grilled Chicken sandwich in a pretzel bun. It was excellent as was the jambalaya. They have two locations in Omaha but this one is always my favorite.

20 ounce Bloody Mary with celery, lime, olive and a salted rim. A bit spicier than I love but remedied with a small glass of tomato juice.

First time visit! Found one of the last cozy booths in the place just before 6pm on a Friday night. Within 10 minutes the place was full but a booth keeps the noise level down. Perfect place for after dinner drinks, lunch or dinner before a movie at Dundee Theater a block away. Service was fast and friendly. We will be back!

Most of the highlight was the various types of burgers and fries they had, so my partner and I got two kinds, and we both enjoyed our respective meals. I had the block burger, which was as good as I imagined it to be, with juicy patty cooked to medium and every ingredient needed to make a good burger. The poutine had a lot of beef gravy and cheese curds, which made the dish a comprehensive experience to consume, rather than just fries. The duck duck goose fries were amazing! The duck confit, cheese curds, mayo, gravy, and gooseberry gastrique combination worked super well on top of the fries, because they altogether basically made it a gourmet dish that I had to eat with a fork. Finally, the sloppy nick was seasoned very well, even if we got the vegan version, which used impossible meat instead of ground beef. It was still really great! Hope everyone who visits Omaha gets to try this spot! Their wall has quite a few articles that recognized them as a locally renowned burger joint, and I could see why. Since they can be busy, I would recommend people getting there earlier to secure a good table spot, if dining in.

But do not let that detour you from trying this gem. I usually like to grab one of my go-to orders, like the poutine burrito or the Croque Garcon Burger, plus whatever the daily special is. Sometimes the specials do not hit for me, but that is not their fault. It is a seat yourself space, but I have never had any issues finding a spot, usually by the time you order, someone has left. Despite the space being crowded whenever I come by, they do a great job of keeping the tables cleared and clean. Service has always been top-notch for me.

The bartender/server was very friendly. My friend and I were have a conversation and didn't look at the menu much, he kept checking on us until we were ready to order. It was a bit messy, but I scarfed it down. Tots were nice a crispy. The place wasn't very busy so I was a little skeptical whether it was going to be good, but I was pleasantly surprised. These people, and this place have my heart. When my (bio) Dad passed suddenly and unexpectedly a few months ago, I was scrambling to find a place to host a gathering after his service. He was an Omaha native, a Navy veteran, and an avid Harley rider that maintained a variety of lifelong friends. How many, I had no clue. How many would see the notice and attend, I had no clue. Yet when I called Goose's Bar & Grill and spoke to Nathan and his Manager- the reply was short, sweet and put every ounce of my anxiety to rest, "We've got you" - and THEY DID!!! No questions, just the most perfect suggestions. They opened doors, brought in extra staff that accommodated and served us with the warmest welcome and comfort food you could image. (Oh, and the kicker?! - of course this all took place during the busiest week for all of the Main Street Papillion businesses- "Papillion Days" - still, they made it happen for me.
