The perks of Charred Oak Whiskey Grill are the atmosphere, outdoor seating, and service. I love the attention to detail in the decor and the service was great! They also have a lengthy bourbon selection and cocktail menu. For me, the food was just okay. I got the brisket tacos and Brussels sprouts. The brisket in the tacos was good and had good flavor, but there wasn't a lot of meat in them. The bulk of the taco was full of lettuce with a sprinkling of brisket on top. It also didn't come with any type of sauce and I felt like a sauce was needed. The Brussels sprouts felt boiled. They were extremely soft and didn't have a lot of flavor. They had a lengthy menu and I'd be open to giving it another try and order something else. read more

Excellent restaurant in a quaint, small town. It's usually hard to find a restaurant serving quality food like this in a small town, but Charred Oak nailed it. We are chicken wing lovers and the wing sauce was the best we've ever had. We enjoyed the burgers for our main meal. The vast beer and liquor selection was enjoyable. The waitress was also tending bar so she didn't come out to check on us after the food came out so, we needed ranch, sweet tea (all ice) & cheese for the sweet potato fries (don't recommend) cheese dip is a negative'. My bourbon burger was spot on! The buffalo wings were apparently slimy and my son's friend threw up! I didn't know this until we left! We LOVED this place!! Best nachoes we've ever had, the homemade tortilla chips is def what made it! Hubby and I celebrated a recent move to town with a bottle of wine (a Spanish red blend), which was lovely for $25. We shared the Bourbon Sriracha wings. They could have been my most favorite wings ever. We also shared the ribeye steak and a house salad with "warm bacon vinegar" dressing. The steak was perfectly charred- go figure! We love coming to Charred Oak most weekends when we visit the lake. Particularly on Friday's because they always have live music and all the musicians have been great! The service is great and the good is also delicious! Food options for everyone, so even your pick eaters are covered. They have a huge bourbon selection and also a good variety of beer, wine, and cocktails. We usually can find a seat fairly easy at the bar, but I have seen occasional short waits for the traditional dining seating, but then again this is on a busy Friday night. If you're in the Somerset area I highly recommend checking this place out, you won't be disappointed! read more

We dropped in for the first time. Area was clean and staff was super efficient. Our waitress did not "loose" us as what is common now a days. Large screen TVs were in goo position. Sound was moderate and not over powering. You could carry on a conversation with out appearing to scream.The Bourbon sriracha wings were amazing. The Ahi Tuna (something hard to get right in a non costal area was "perfect". The Smokehouse Burger was cooked to perfection. The Super Salad is highly recommended if you are looking for a nutritious meal that contains all the key super foods. It was fresh and not the frozen taste of most restaurants. Went for early dinner. Was a little busy but we were seated immediately. Hostess was friendly. Our waiter was neither great or terrible. We did wait for refills but nothing major. I had the chicken nachos, which really good. It had a good amount of everything and the chips were homemade and so good. Husband had the brisket waffle fries. He said he really liked them and I tasted the brisket and wi was flavorful and tender. My daughter got the avocado toast. She said it was just ok. We stopped here as we were making our way from Louisville to Cumberland Falls for a nature-filled weekend. It was a friday, but still fairly early in the evening. We had no trouble getting seated right away. We were famished and quickly ordered. My friend and I each got a different burger so we could cut them in half and share. (Sharing is caring!) Between us, we shared the the Steakhouse Bourbon Burger and the Smoked Gouda Maple Bacon Burger. Both were juicy and delicious, done to our liking, and with a side of fries. Been here twice now & absolutely LOVE the atmosphere! Such a fun place to go hang out, the ambiance is amazing. The food has been great every time--my go to is the superfood salad with ahi tuna!! It's been delicious every time! The only thing that's hit or miss for me has been the service; sometimes the waiters and waitresses are kind, other times they are so bothered by your mere presence and make you feel like you can't ask them for anything at all.
