Zero Stars. Charter Communications is AWFUL. They randomly jack up your bill when they feel like it and my internet connection sucks. When we first moved in to our apartment they DRILLED a hole in our wall to run the cable through WITHOUT my consent and they definitely could have done it differently. I still use their services because Time Warner is our only other option here. They say they're going to patch our hole for free when we move out, but I highly doubt it. read more

Charter is sadly the only internet provider that services the area my apartment is in. I hate it. Our internet connection is so slow & we rarely get the speed we are paying for. When we called to notify them about it to fix it the guy over the phone actually made the internet stop working altogether & couldn't fix it so we needed to make an appointment for them to come down. But the last time they came down they didn't know how to do their job completely - the two guys that came to set up our internet couldn't figure out how to get our wireless to work & I had to just call & ask my brother to help. So whenever I have a problem my brother fixes it. I had to pay a $30 installment fee for them to connect wires & not finish setting up my internet. I asked ahead of time if we can just set it up ourselves & lower the installment fee but they said no they give top installation quality. Ha... Yeah... My brother is doing their job. The prices are fine but who wants to pay even $1 for poor service that you are unhappy with. Also, they call me way too often to let me know about the same stupid promotion. I let the guy know that they had already called me about it & I am not interested & he continued to give me the same sales pitch as the previous guy. I decided to just block their number. I am very disgusted with this company, i have realized my bill keeps going up and they don't care that i want to cancel it, i figured out that its the only internet provider for the 91739 zip code, i am starting to think these internet companies are starting to divide territory so they can all mark the price they want and run the companies like monopolies, they want $65 for a internet only and they don't care if i cancel, why would they? No other provider available but them. I went out of my way today out of courtesy to drop off cable equipment and was 1 minute late from closing time. As I walked to the front door, they started locking the door. I told him that I just wanted to drop off the equipment. The response was, "we're closed". I totally get closing time, but if your going to be in the customer service industry, please be customer oriented. I would have left just fine if he responded, "I'm sorry but the computers are off and unfortunately I wouldn't be able to process your request. My response would have been, "I understand, I just wanted to drop off this cable equipment that was my dad's when he passed away, you are welcome to process it tomorrow just take it off my hands or I'll just be tossing it in the trash". Can you give less than one star? Just called to cancel my cable and the customer service guy didn't even ask why or try to keep my business. How do they stay in business? When I asked if they had upgraded their boxes to be able to record in one room and watch in another or have a search option yet, he said no. How archaic! I have been a charter customer for a very long time. They have good prices and good options. I have phone, internet and cable with them. I like that I can get cable service without a box. There customer service it good BUT they failed me this year. My cable connection is in the front lawn. The box that covered the connections was found broken late last year. They removed the box and place a orange cone on it. Long story short, I have put a lot of time in calling them, talking to the techs, chatting and they have yet to fix the cover. Its exposed and get water in it. Someone could fall into it and get very hurt. Pictures will be posted on here. The last time I chatted with a rep they should dispatch had fixed it. Well, I want home and its still open. Its very obvious they don't know what to do with our situation, are disorganized and pretty much don't care. Yet I keep paying their bill. So I am resorting to posting a negative review and the pictures. Absolutely unacceptable. I will be letting the rep know that I posted this review too. I wish verizon had more DSL connections. It appears once they have you hooked it's impossible to get anyone to call you back. The salesperson and his supervisor completely ignored my phone calls and text messages. It wasn't until I contacted the corporate customer service people that I could actually get answers to my questions. The salesperson told me I would have to wait until Friday to finish the installation, when I contacted their corporate people I was able to get the installation moved up two days. read more

I have canceled my Internet and phone services with Charter. My bill kept going up and had reached the $200.00 mark. They offer great rates to new customers but aren't too interested in their existing customers. When I called to cancel my services they began to offer me better rates but they were still not close to what they were offering new customers. I agreed to keep the service but noticed that most of my cable channels were missing when I got off the phone. I called back to find out that all they did was reduce my service level. I canceled the service again and will never go back to charter cable. I kept the Internet service because until Fios is offered in my area there isn't much to choose from. I don't think they deserve even 1 star!!! read more

I'm writing this review on the off chance that Charter Communications cares enough about their customers to actually read any of the reviews. If only there was a viable option in Rancho...their service (in name only) is absurd. Today their service tech was here for the fourth time in two months. For the same problem of course. Would have been here even more often if I had the energy to call them out more frequently! They did,however,manage to give me one email and FOUR phone reminders of my scheduled service call in less than 24 hours! If only they put that much effort into actually resolving my problem !!! When we moved into this neighbor hood we were told we had no choice but Charter we signed up it took them several phones calls and days to find our house (we live in Arrowhead Farms) Then it took over two days for them to do the instal.They charged us from the week before (first phone call instead of actual instal date) they instated it. We were only getting a basic package.And many extra's we were suppose to get we did not. Many problems with service and billing. It was so pose to be one price for two years.Price increased after one year.We were told there was no such package available for that price.Then they started dropping channels that were originally included in our package moving them to a higher package . At the end of our contract. -we switched to Dish (witch we are very happy with) Charter still had our internet and phone we will be switching that here shortly. Just recently their equipment went out and we were told we would have to pay an instal and an activation fee; and more each month to be able to keep our current internet and phone.This all came at a hefty price of $80 because they upgraded.And their wires ect. no longer support their customers older equipment.I said Hey it's your equipment shouldn't you upgrade it?"Oh, we will for the activation and instal fee's.And of course you'll have to pay a higher rental fee." I was also informed by they uninformed tech that if you work for Charter all their internet tv and phone is free, Want to know why thy keep raising their prices.Plus they get all their equipment and install for free. We now have found other internet service and will be switching and go to cell phones. read more

Charter spectrum service SUCKS! It's slow and unreliable. When you call to complain their only offer of help is to have you unplug the modem and restart it which only works for about an hour or so. Of course this service is pretty much the only provider in my area so they have a monopoly and they know it so their service is crap. read more

I wish there was an option to leave a review on Spectrum main website, but there isn't. So, I am going to have to leave one here. Spectrum is a total rip off!!!! I don't even know where to begin. I upgraded to Silver package specifically for 1 channel in this package that I wanted. Well, that channel didn't work. I went without this channel for 1 1/2 months. Spectrum was contacted, Technical tried to help, but couldn't. They then told me that a "higher up" in Technical would have to call me back to help. I waited, nothing. Then I was told that a tech would have to come out and help me. Tech came out, channel still didn't work, he says, "give it about 24 hrs." 24 hrs passed nothing. Also, when tech was here he says, "Hmm, you have the old box, I will give you new one.....OMG! This new box, I had to re-learn how to use it, and it is terrible. It's features are horrible. It made my T.V. picture turn pink at times, I lose the volume to my T.V. allot, I pause it, but it really doesn't pause, because when I go back and press play, the program was technically still "playing" have to rewind. It doesn't hold enough recorded space, the remote to it lights up for 3 seconds, then turns off, you can't see buttons at night. Spectrum always has maintenance at 2 in the morning and lasts for hours, T.V. down. They false advertise, says no hidden fees. Their not hidden, but they will start appearing on your bill. Besides, late fees, they have added re-connection fees, and because you upgraded, they charge you a monthly "higher tier fee." When I did request to have internet, tech of course came out and I was charged for it. I am charged for just using the service, $5.00 on top of internet fee. Fee for just using service, ie., cable. DVR fee is $12.00. Some of the channels don't work at times. On the guide, it shows name of program and time, but when change to that channel, it's a different program. Oh, and when I needed to upgrade again to get my one channel, they told me I had to bring my bill to certain balance to do it. So, for now, I am being charged for a package that technically doesn't work. read more

Charter Cable is overall the worst cable company I've ever had to deal with. Their customer service is inept at best, for example we kept losing the signal and when we did receive it, it was intermittent. Called customer service, they scheduled the service call for a Sunday. Nobody showed up or called. I called Monday am, they scheduled again for following Sunday. Again, nobody showed up or called. But, without any notification somebody showed up Monday morning. Said they don't work Sundays. It's still an ongoing problem, and after 6 service calls, we still have signal issues. read more

Buyer beware it's true what they say cable TV has the worst customer service of all the companies in all the world. They don't show up for their appointments there's a lot of additional charges that appear on the bill that they don't tell you about until you get the bill. They tell you they won't charge you for service call then all the sudden it appears on your bill and they will argue with you until your fed up, and you end paying it anyway. You get what you pay for cheap bills for cheap service! The internet is slow and a lot of the channels are "unavailable" other times the screen is black with sound and the signal goes in and out or freezes. You are not getting what you pay for when channels are always unavailable. As soon as I find another provider I am canceling. read more

This is the worse company I have ever had to deal with. When you call for tech support or help everyone is so polite on the phone but they never fix the problem.. Then you call again and have to speak to another person as it is not possible to speak with one person until the situation has been resolved. So 14 calls and 14 different technicians and 14 different solutions all in which did not fix my problem.You might be thinking of it must be a difficult problem. NO All I wanted to do is be able to set my voicemail on our business phone when we leave for the evening and be able to shut it off when we return in the morning. Sounds simple. Well with their new upgrade this is not possible unless you now go online and have to click through 8 items to get to where you can set your voicemail and then in the morning you must again log in and click through all the screens and turn off the email. This is a perfect example of "Oh it all seems to be working fine so lets mess things all up. Then after each and every phone call they ask you to take more time to complete a survey on their service. It is a joke. This company is not a good company. I am currently looking into other providers and will be changing very quickly. I told them I was so unhappy with their services that I was considering changing and they said oh we are sorry to hear that. They do not know the definition of customer service. I was so frustrated after my 15th call I sat down and cried. I wouldn't even give this company one star but that was not one of my choices. Terrible Terrible company. Zero stars!! The worst customer service for sure. A call from the 'retention dept.' to get me back as a tv customer is what started all of this. I was lied to and manipulated to agree to come back as a customer. Charter could not honor the price and terms as quoted to me by the 'retention dept.' rep. once everything was installed. They called and solicited me, I did not call them. It was a huge waste of time and energy to say the least. Consumers should be protected by this deceptive practice charter uses to get customers back. I was unable to get anywhere after calling several times. No one ever returned my calls after several requests. If I had the energy to expend on this I would seek legal action and subpeona every phone conversation as nec. to prove how they lied to get me to sign up again. If anyone out there does I'm in for class action or whatever it takes to hold them accountable. This branch is fine when I went in to change services , I spoke to someone about orange is the new black while she updated my account, 'twas great. BUT. Someone , probably from corporate keeps calling me to check up on their services . I pay my bill on time every month using automatic payment. So it can't be that important . I have asked to be called after 5 since I would be fine with talking to them but not when I'm at work and my bosses are hanging over me asking whose calling. This time someone called me while driving to get my boss a coffee ... Andy or Andrew insists I put my phone on speaker ... STILL ILLEGAL DUMBA$$ ! if at possible avoid this service.im trapped in alta loma.the only option is verizon modem which works but extremely slow...charter internet is intermittent and you have to reboot router daily.you have to reconnect every time you open pc or mac even though it sleeping not turned off the internet is gone..even in a 5 minute session it will flash no connection but if you wait a minute it comes back otherwise you have to unplug everything and wait ..which is a 3 minute or so process.if you call them out they will change everything out after a week or so within a four hour window.you can bet they will show at the last few minutes of that window.unless of course you gamble and run to the store..anyway if there were any options other than charter guaranteed not to deliver speed your paying for and promised. let me know i need it..........verizon fils is not available here unfortunately read more

I would give negative 0 review if I could. Charter is a company that takes advantage of its customers while monopolizing an area such as Rancho Cucamonga. I cannot wait for the day that we are allowed to shop around for other providers. I had their TV/phone/internet bundle service for over 10 years and every 12 months fees were raised. It is true, there is never a proper advance notice when they will raise their service fees. Recently cancelled TV & PH service and only using internet. I used to work from home but because their unreliable internet service, I am not anymore. I am saving now over $130 a month by cancelling their service and shopping for a cheaper internet for which I am paying around $55 a month. I am using Netflix and Magic Jack to replace their service for a fraction of the price ($15 a month). Every review stated by other is the TRUTH. If you have a choice, do not use the services of this company. read more

Ugh, being this is the only option for high speed internet there really isn't any choice. We're forced into going with this monopoly. My experience for the first year was OK because when you're a new customer, they do everything to suck you in. However, I was supposed to be receiving certain channels within my package, but there are so many one never knows really what you're supposed to be getting. Anyhow, Disney Jr never once worked {black screen 24/7} and a few others, and then there's that lovely pixelation issue. For an entire year! So what can they do? $10 credit. Oh that's fantastic when you're paying upwards of $130. So that's the first year. Second year be prepared for a huge increase and then for them to offer to help you to save money they will switch out your DVR box for HD leaving you no recording options when you only had the one box to begin with. After speaking with 5 people, yes you read that correctly, 5 and it didn't end there, I was able to retain my DVR at nearly the same price, just $10 more. But at that point I'd spoken to 7 people. And David? Don't even get me started on him. By the way, I'm still not getting Disney Jr because that's a 'most likely 3 hour troubleshooting appointment' and they randomly schedule you without asking, at least that's what happened in my case. After telling them to cancel that appointment because no one would be home, they still sent out a technician anyway! Obviously they have all their ducks in a row. So, I'm now just under $150 with 10 channels I was allowed to choose, one of which I really would've liked to be Disney Jr, but I don't have time to deal with phone calls and service appointments so I'm stuck with programming I don't really want. But the saga didn't end there, people. After all that, my internet stopped working. I had to call not one, but three times. The first time the guy on the phone asked for my number 'to call you back should we get disconnected.' Guess what? We did get disconnected. Did he call back LIKE HE SAID HE WOULD? Of course not. Because Charter doesn't care about you if you're not a new customer. I beg of you, If you have ANY other option, do NOT choose Charter Spectrum. Hands down worst service ever. Horrible company! Not specifically this location but in general. I have been without service (Internet, TV, and phone bundle) for over 3 MONTHS! They kept giving me the runaround that someone would come out and fix it. Well NO ONE ever came out and fixed a thing. The techs that initially came out said that I need a new line that goes under my street. And from there nothing happened. I called so many times that I can't count. In the mean time they had the nerve to charge me for services I wasn't receiving! And threatened to disconnect my service. Well it wasn't working any way so I didn't care if they "disconnected" it but then the Charter guy explained to me that they will charge me a "reconnect fee" once it's fixed, so I grudgingly paid the minimum due to avoid another problem. I ended up getting a portable wifi from my Verizon cell phone company just so I could have internet. It makes me sick that this company Charter/Spectrum has a monopoly on the internet business in my area--I can't get service from any one else. So I waited and waited until finally I cancelled. Two weeks later they still haven't sent me the necessary boxes needed to send back their equipment. I won't get my refund on the last 3 months until I return that equipment. I plan on filing a complaint with the FCC and BBB. Something needs to be done about this unethical company. read more

We have been without internet for over 2 1/2 weeks. We have paid someone to be there 4 eight hour days and no one has shown up except on the first day and left without finishing the job telling us that a supervisor was coming out. Had someone at the house till 5pm and no one came nor called. Yesterday the 4th day with an appt. we called 3 times to make sure someone was coming out. We were told they have till 5pm. Called at 3:30pm was told they were finishing up a job and would be out. At 5pm no one arrived called office was told a supervisor was looking into it and would call back. Told supervisor they could call back up till midnight last night- no phone call. Called this morning was told the appt was cancelled but couldn't say why or how! Paid someone for 32 hours and not once did anyone come out. Find out this morning we are scheduled for tomorrow. How would we even know that since no one called back. This must be the Riverside office but we (the people) need to demand other services. This is a monopoly and why is this allowed. We elect city officials so we need to demand better services. read more

Charter? The WORST EVER!!! Let's face it, they have a monopoly in the area of Rancho Cucamonga. The channel lineup: The selections are worse and worse. They have mostly prerecorded old shows that they change monthly called Charter on demand.That is used to make up for the popular stations that they have dropped, since they don't want tp pay for and provide great live and good quality TV, mostly politics, sports, religion, and the all-time favorite ongoing lenghty infomecials. On top of that, yes believe it, their recent programing keeps breaking up, and the remote control is a nightmare to operate. Some of the customer service is nice, though from overseas, but they only have a few meager delals to offer. What set me off to finally write this review? Well, it's their usual practice of jacking up the bill BY 50% sneakily WITHOUT NOTICE because I have enabled 1.) Direct debit to my credit card, and 2.) Paperless billing, so the whole bill is buried in an email. They're always LEGAL, of course, the upcoming increase is buried somewhere on one of the pages of the bill. Yes, hoping you are too busy to catch it! They say it's a 2 year rate to get you to relax, but it's always a one year bill, and you never know when the rate increase (by $50.00) will happen. I told them that they should have PAPER MAILED ME A HEADS UP! so I can catch it, but that wouln't allow them to play thei usual games. You can't win with them, but now, 10+ years with them it's over, and I will put up with a dish in my backyard and get some decent programs, better billing practices, and a fair price with an up to date system. Well, what a way to start off my morning with a phone call to Charter because my service was cut off in the middle of the night. This is January 13th, I have had Charter since November 28th. So that is exactly 47 days and I owe them $319.84. I received my first bill less than a week ago. It had a previous balance on it of $195.72. Whoa, how can I have a previous balance on my first bill? My service was only supposed to be $94.97 a month but with fees, taxes and equipment rental it comes to $124.12. Well, there was evidently a previous bill I never received. Could it be because I just moved into this apartment? The previous billing is because they bill in advance and because they charged for installation and setup. They did not call me to let me know they were disconnecting. I checked my voice mail. They don't want to work with me. No chance of getting it back on until I get paid which is once a month. Moving expenses and Christmas did not help. But they are no help either. read more
