booked them thru a ring purchase for flood light camera to replace the one that has gone bad. when the tech arrived he tried giving us some BS explanation that removing the exiting ring flood camera was not a part of the order and that we'd be paying $1200 to an electrician to remove lol but he can do it for another $150 on top of the price we paid thru ring which is just a cheap ploy to take advantage of us. We obviously told him no and found an electrician to remove and install the new light for $100. so unless you're trying to get ripped off stay away from these con artists. read more

The person that helped us was very nice and professional and he brought his nephew or son with him and they were 10 to 15 minutes early for the appointment which was good. The only bad part of hello tech after a month they charged me $4.99 for a membership, which I didn't sign up for. the price to mount a tv depends on the size of the mount and our was greater than 65 inches. they were quick and fast and done within less than an hour. i would definitely recommend them again just was upset that the company charged me for a membership which i didnt agree on but i was able to cancel it easy and quick. read more

I scheduled an appointment (same day) for a desktop computer issue regarding my mouse and keyboard Bluetooth. They gave me a window same day but not until 7 PM and at 8:30 Pm they told me they were having trouble locating a technician. I set up an appointment for a tech to come for computer repair. I entered all my information correctly. Appointment was made. 2 hours later- a tech text me and said he doesn't get paid enough money to come help so he cancelled. Then I was charged both a $4.99 membership fee and a $25 cancellation fee! I emailed HelloTech twice trying to get them to remove the charges- and no one ever responded to any contact. I have now had to dispute the charged on my credit card to try and resolve. Filed a complaint with the BBB. Risky company, poor customer service, charge without cause. read more

Nothing has worked since they came out other than right as the guy left and showed me how perfect everything was. I literally have no sound on tv or smart tv and I am not bad at managing this stuff. I set up my own Roku and Apple TV myself and troubleshoot my internet service as needed. I don't know what was done, but even unplugging the sound bar and trying to go old school won't work. It's funny I was googling the Geek Squad and this company came up first, meaning they pay a lot for search engine optimization. So being from Silicon Valley I decided why not give a start up a chance when I needed my tv mounted. It was all fine until the technician accidentally put a hole in the wall. I told them my house was newly remodeled and I would have my own contractor do the work. No big deal mistakes happen and I gave the company an opportunity to make it right. But apparently they prefer to treat people badly and quibble over small dollar amounts. This wouldn't be so bad but for the condescending language I had to endure. Long story short they refunded me $199 and it cost me $250 to repair the damage they caused. Hello Tech refused to reimburse me the additional 50 bucks despite the fact I had a licensed contractor's invoice. Next time I'll go with the Geek Squad. This is the worse service I have ever used. May 20th got charges to have surround sound and blu ray player hooked up. Tec came when he left it didn't work. contacted Hello Tech they said OH it falls on 30 warranty. I wish there was a lower rating than 1. I ordered a technician from Hello Tech online to mount a new Nest thermostat in a new location and get it set up for us. The tech didn't show up with the right material to relocate the thermostat, so we decided to keep it in the same location to get the job done. He was literally incapable of mounting the thermostat on the wall. Using the wrong adapters. Unbelievable! I was flabbergasted to say the least. Nice guy, but totally incompetent. After 1.5 hours watching him, I mounted the thermostat myself. Totally negating my trying to save some time and pay someone else so I could work on my business. Only then, after mounting it myself, to find out he had NO IDEA how to program the Nest thermostat. Hello??? All the requirements were specified online when I ordered the work, so I do not get the complete disconnect with Hello Tech. Then they billed my credit card after I told them what happened. Really??? What kind of company is this? I will NEVER, EVER use Hello Tech again. There screening processes for approving techs is totally screw up. All this at my time and expense to fix what the tech could not do. Terrible, terrible experience!!!! I should have called the Geek Squad I think. This is an awful company. They send people who know nothing to your home. I paid this company $79 to install a simplisafe doorbell. The first person that came said he couldn't do it because he isn't licensed to work with high voltage. He left telling his company that he completed the job. I was charged $79 even tho the guy that turned down the job told me I wouldn't be charged. I called and agreed to have another guy come out. This new guy was touching wires here and there to see if what he was doing would work. He then told me that I needed to order three parts (so I did). He went to put the old doorbell button back together and the chime no longer worked. He burned out a brand new transformer that I just put in. I had to buy my friend a new transformer (again) and install it. Also, the last guy took apart the doorbell button to where it wasn't useable anymore. Long story short, don't let these guys help you! I did get my money back, but they also costed me money for parts I never really needed, a transformer, doorbell button. Funny thing is? Simplisafe doorbell cam won't work with digital chimes! Neither fool knew that. Also, it is not a good sign when you are asking the person working for you if he needs any tools. read more

Absolutely fabulous experience. I am not a novice and had been working on this HP Laser Color network printer problem for 2 weeks. I couldn't connect via USB or Network. I also had HP tech support work on the problem for almost 2 hours after which they concluded the printer was broken (I knew it wasn't). Website says same day service available. Went on website and they had a block available for same same day install so I picked the times from 3-5pm. After chatting with there online rep, they wanted me to pick another day and time. I said I dont have any. I asked why does it say same day service, and why was I able to pick same day service but they can't commit. Just called Geek Squad and there able to come out in 2 hours. read more

This is probably the worst service ever that I've received. I called to get my simplisafe installed and she sent out same day service. Although I was told on the phone that the 79.99$ covered what I needed to install. The company they sent out said it was basic what i got and it would be 400$. My email specifically says it's for 10+ sensors and the guy said "HelloTech doesn't explain what that means very well". Then asks me why I have ring cameras but didn't get adt. And acted shocked as to why we got simplisafe. Anyways I told him my email says 10+ sensors can you install the 20 I have for 79.99$ and forget the other things I needed done. And he said no. I ended up doing it all alone, which took less than an hour to install all my sensors. Next time dont send out lazy rude companies who ring your doorbell while talking on the phone!! I would beware of using this company for anything and here is why. They make appointments for installs that they don't have any idea if they have a qualified person to do the job. I need a WiFi thermostat installed in my vacation rental in Big Bear, CA. I drove 2 hours to meet the tech. They had a window of time 9-11. At 9:15 I called them and they said they had no one to do the job. Their customer service is in the Philippines and for a local job that is never good.
