What a wonderful time we had with Chris and Jordan as our captain and crew. We were on a private charter for four of us and it was lovely. We just wanted to cruise along the coast to Diamond Head and that's what we did. Along the way Chris and Jordan pointed out landmarks, sea life, and other things of interest. I was scared to snorkel in the middle of the ocean but Alex, Kelsey and Meg put me at ease. Meg was our caption, she's badass, she is so nice and knowledgeable about everything. Alex was the nicest person I've ever met. She is so outgoing and sweet. She helped me so much in and out of the water. Kelsey is an amazing diver and picks up critters off the ocean floor to show you. Both Alex and Kelsey did an amazing job at spotting turtles and telling us to swim their way. We saw about 10 turtles during the hour we were in the water. After we swam, they offered us drinks, chips, and fresh fruit on a cute platter. This was a great experience. The crew of Snorkel 1 was great. Everything about the process from leaving the shore, wearing the equipment, and what to expect in the water was very well explained. We all received juice can when we arrived in the boat, then we were given fresh pineapples and chips as we headed back to shore. The staff was helpful in the water at pointing out where the turtles were. It was cool to look at the ocean bottom and see the various creatures. We also saw several turtles at the top of the water. The staff on our snorkel tour were fun and upbeat, which made the experience enjoyable from the start. The boat ride to the snorkel area took about 10-15 minutes. Keep in mind that most other snorkel charters head to the same spot, so you won't have the area to yourself. We were a little disappointed to only see two turtles, but we did get to swim with plenty of colorful fish, which was still pretty awesome. Snacks were provided--Hawaiian Sun juices and chips--which was a nice touch. They also offered a photo package for $55. We decided to purchase it, and the pictures turned out fun, but if you have a waterproof phone case or a GoPro, you could definitely capture your own shots too. read more

Charter Oahu Snorkeling Tour is a great underwater adventure to remember for beginners! We made the online reservation a few days prior. They can accommodate from a small group of 2 to 4, or up to about 25-30 people on this small boat. The adventure starts with a boat ride few miles outside of the Waikiki beach. So this is actually the third time I've done a boat tour to Turtle Canyon over the years, though my first with Charter Oahu. This was easily the best! The boat is a much smaller size than many that go out and the crew is absolutely amazing! We had Captain Meg, Sophia, Alix, Gretchen and Angelina on our boat and they were probably one of the best crews we've ever had on a boat tour! Secondly, this experience is incredible (hence I try to do it whenever I'm in town!) I've never been anywhere else in Hawaii with so many turtles in the water with you as at this 'cleaning station'. It's absolutely incredible to swim with them (but please respect them and give them the proper space). If you're in Oahu, don't miss this experience and don't miss doing it with Charter Oahu! This was one of the most fun things we did on our visit to Honolulu. We chose Charter Oahu over some of the other Charter snorkel boats because of the small group size. It was a much more intimate experience than what I feel like some of the other "cattle style" boats provide. Bethany was our deckhand and she was really attentive to us, served us ice cold beverages and fresh pineapple. She also swam out and stayed with us in the water the whole time and pointed out different fish and sea turtles. We got to see several sea turtles, an eel and so many fish I can't even count. I can't remember what the captains name was but he was excellent handling the boat and also played really good music for us. Our trip took about two hours and the captain also took us a little out-of-the-way when he saw a whale breach the surface. I've never seen a whale before! We also loved seeing Waikiki skyline from the water and got great views of Diamondhead. read more

First of all, the boat is very small and we got sea sick! There's no shade and you burn in the sun all the time! The instructions should be given WHILE going into the ocean to save the time, not sit the passengers in a 100 degree weather on the shore and talk for 20min. Also, we didn't see much fish. Unfortunately, our time was cut short because some offsite supervisor made us turn around before we got out of the harbor to pick up a party that was 30 minutes late.
