Went there for a credit card application, I had an appointment at 2pm, but I was seen as soon as I got there , which was 15 mins sooner, my banker was in the middle of his lunch and helped me when he knew I arrived earlier, I appreciate that a lot , it was amazing customer service and he was very professional, I was in and out for 20 mins ! Never had any issue banking here before and recently came to get some papers notarized. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and helpful, especially Martin Vasquez and Max. Max helped me get the initial information I needed and to set things up with Martin. Martin was very patient since I had several documents to review. His knowledge and expertise helped complete everything properly and added a layer of security that put my mind more at ease. I come by here typically when I have to help out my mom or if I need to do really basic transactions (e.g., deposits and withdrawals). I do like that all of the Chases I've been to has provided consistent customer service and overall cleanliness. I've never had issues, though they definitely check to make sure you sign your checks appropriately, so I've had to make two trips to the same bank whenever my mom forgot to sign something. I am glad that they do their due diligence. Since this is in the same shopping center as Pavilions, parking lot is more than enough. I find it amusing that Chase replaced the Blockbuster (ha, do you guys remember those days?) that was originally here. My only "wish" is that with the social distancing being needed, perhaps they should have the line for cashier transactions wrap around to the west side to start at the south-most area of the bank, so that the customers move north east to get to the cashiers, and then just move north and out the doors once complete. At the moment, the customers are all getting bunched up and "bumping" into each other between entry and exit. read more

I highly recommend this branch of Chase because of Frederick and the whole Walnut Chase team! The first time I went 2 months ago because my sister recently passed. I informed them....accounts were frozen. Debit cards don't work anymore. Standard protocol that gave me my initial praise! After two months, yesterday I first met Frederick to close my sisters accounts with all the documentation needed. He treated me with empathy and compassion. At one point he realized he was her banker! And it became more personal. He layed out the plan and the amount of time it would take for the process. They're on New York time so appointment for tomorrow 11am. Today we went through the process of unfreezing her accounts, issuing cashiers checks and creating a new checking and savings account....joint account. My brother didn't need to be there, but go to any branch to verify. Two hours later he did! Everything was a success! Frederick was very transparent, professional, supportive considering the circumstances, and funny through light conversation as the process is detailed and by the book and there is no rush. To be honest... this was a very somber moment for me to transfer my sisters hard earned money to me and my brother. Hats off to you Frederick and the Walnut Chase Team! See you soon! read more

This branch is ineffective managed. In order to meet with a banker there is a six day wait list as of 01/12/2021. Be advised this branch unnecessarily subjects guests to four employees twice, once as you enter the branch and while you exit. The employees whom are adhering to social distancing out of act of caution. They do not meet with clients. However, the do sit in a small area of space. This is a time when a world wide pandemic is at its peak and this practice is less than cautious. The staff member, Charlene was very snide when asking "Where would you like them to be?". Please know that as a "valued" client, it is not my responsibility to provide logistics for the branch regarding local and state mandates. Later that day, I traveled to another Chase branch in Montebello and was met with an acceptable level of professionalism. Additionally, I was able to walk right in without exposing my immune system to four bankers and was able to meet with a banker in less than ten minutes. It's possible to get the banking services clients seek. However, not at this poorly managed branch. Here's hoping that this branch can brainstorm with successful branches and serve the community while protecting their health. read more

I got a prime VISA card through Amazon and Chase. I haven't been able to go online to check my balance. When I called Chase for help, I had to suffer through numerous questions from a phone ROBOT. Finally, after about 10 minutes, I was was able to talk to a person. After about 15 minutes I wasn't able to get any real help or give that person enough proof of who I was. I called Amazon and didn't get much help there either, although the Amazon person seemed smarter and made a better effort to help me. The Amazon person was supposed to call me back, but didn't. I'm planning to cancel my Prime, VISA, Chase bank credit card, forgo the supposed benefits, and go back to my old way of paying, through my credit union. By the way, everyone should be using their credit union (or get one) because they are non-profit, with much fewer expenses. read more

Laila was a great help to us in opening an account and resolving other complicated transactions. They have a clipboard to sign in and wait for a banker to help you. They had four or five bankers working on a Saturday morning and we didn't wait long. Only two seats in the waiting area due to social distancing. We were helped by an Asian teller (maybe Filipino?) who gave us a very hard time when we had several transactions and it took forever that we decided to not continue on with the rest. I'm not being racist as I am Asian myself. I just think that she makes everything harder. I can visit this branch again but will definitely avoid being helped by her. This Chase bank is the worst. I usually go to the one by my work in El Monte but this one is closer to my house the tellers don't know what there doing they look scared and they are not discreet at all! I was refused for a transaction and the teller said it out loud were people were staring at me and the teller next to her was also staring which made me very uncomfortable. I will not be going to this bank ever again I'd rather go to Wells Fargo they are more professional and the Chase bank in El Monte have friendly tellers and I never have a problem with them. read more

Came to this branch for some quick cash for a car repair down the street from here. I was actually anticipating to use one of those automated teller machines when I walked in, but there were none! Or at least I didn't see any when I walked in. I actually really wanted to use one, rather than talk to a person. Lol. The line was short and one window open. When I got to the front of the line, a second window opened and I did my withdrawal. During this transaction, the lady asked if I completed a withdrawal slip, and I replied no. I didn't realize they still did that. Whoops! I'm so used to just sliding my ATM card and entering my pin. I'm getting a little confused, cause other branches and banks have not asked me to complete a withdrawal slip. Or, I just forgot because I rarely go inside the branch for cash. But because I needed $475, I new I needed to go inside the branch this time. Well, the inside looks nice. There's about 5 teller windows, if I recall correctly. I don't really give banks this high of a rating, ever...but I've received outstanding service on several notable occasions, the last one being when I was disabled and coming in just to pull out some cash. Bailey came up to me and offered to fill out my withdrawal form and had me sit on the lounge couch and proceeded to conduct my transaction for me, quick and very nice of him to do. Definitely not necessary but he went above and beyond the call of normal duty to make sure I was comfortable, I really appreciated that, being that I wasn't visibly uncomfortable but very much so at the time. Other times I've come, I've had very pleasant experiences, the staff is always very nice to me here and very efficient as well. Close to home, easy to park, and they even have drive through atm's and a drive up teller. Glad I bank with chase =) read more

I usually don't write bad reviews, but this one I have to since it was the actual branch manager of this institution her name is Robin I was told mainting a $1,500 balance between my checking and savings acct would not give a maintenance fee, I have way over that and I was charged a maintenance fee I walked in, so I ask her if the fee can be waived, she did, then I asked her to look into another one of my business acct she said I might get a fee since my balance went down for 1 day, I asked if I could get it removed next month if I do get one I am a real estate broker, bad this was her answer "why would you ask for that fee back, no one likes to pay fees especially those real estate, our fees are ittle fee compared to your fees" Basically meaning I should work for free or something, she so rude and looked at me and continued to say "you want them removed just because???" And laughed at me. I have 4 business accounts, and 2 personal accounts with them. I will be looking at other banking options, I think banks should be happy to use our money for free, they lend it out charging a ton of interest and we do we get, a monthly fee, and .03 cents interest if anything. read more

5 stars for a bank...what?!? Well the 5 stars is for answered prayers for a Chase Bank to pop up in my neighborhood. I've been driving for miles just to go to my nearest Chase Bank before and kept thinking that they should really put a branch up in Walnut....and BAM! there it was. Maybe i should've wished for Megan Fox butt naked feeding me a CPK bbq chicken pizza instead huh? But I digress, this is indeed great news for Chase bank customers in the Walnut area. Not only is it brand spanking new, but it also boasts 2 drive thru ATM machines on top of the 2 ATMs in the lobby and 1 outside....and lots of parking (located in the Vons Supermarket complex). As a new branch, everything is so fresh and so clean inside. Customer service and employee morale and friendliness is up, so hopefully that keeps up to become the norm. This location used to be the old Blockbuster branch that unfortunately closed down a year ago. So 5 stars for convenience and for Chase Bank being a huge improvement from my last bank (WAMU who?). read more

I wasn't here long, just had to make a quick deposit, but I did need to use the pen inside to sign a check, first, so I got a look at the place. It's clean and neatly organized, with plenty of tellers and one ATM outside, 2 more ATMs in the "vacuum room" ... you know, the room between the outside and inside where S-for-brain criminals can get trapped. The branch is located in a corner plaza near the west end, with a gas station and other large stores nearby. Parking is somewhat limited, oddly, unless you go a few aisles away, just because of the directional angles of the spots. Still, can't complain. Took care of my business quickly and was on my way. Keep it clean and organized, and I'll keep dropping 3 or 4 star reviews on you. That's how I roll. read more

So I went to chase to get a form filled out for some I bonds I wanted to start. I got a teller who said she couldn't verify I have a account there. Then got a manager who then stated no you need to tell us what your saving money for. What u plan on doing with the money you save. I said read the form and I just need you to verify. So needless to say I'm closing my accounts there. I don't appreciate being discriminated against at a branch in a predominantly orientalist area that I live in. read more

I came many times recently in the afternoon for some inquiries, but after waiting for about half an hour, I had to leave since I, together with many others, were invisible to them. Even the young female branch manager talked and laughed on the phone while looking out from her door. Other employees passed by, but it seemed they were busy with their own things, not noticing us. Chase bank took $11,000 from my business. A customer came in with a counterfeit credit card, and the transaction was successful. Chase bank and Blue Swipe approved the transaction, instead of flying a red flag and contacting us and the real cardholder. Chase bank gave us the money back at first, saying our case was legit and had a real case of stolen identity. Chase bank brought in a 3rd party, Visa, for arbitration, to take the money back and say we were at fault. Someone at Chase obviously made the decision to do this for the sole reason of taking our money unlawfully. If you want a bank that will not protect your business from scammers, then by all means, Choose Chase! Choose Chase! Choose to be Broke! read more

Chase Back has been a disappointment during the COVID-19 crisis, We have been doing business banking with Chase for nearly 28 years. Once Great Western Bank, Washington Mutual, and now Chase Bank. We have been a loyal customer, during these tough times you would think someone would have reached out to you. As we tried to apply for the PPP program NOT one Chase representative could help us nor direct us on what do. The website was always sending us errors, this was a absolute nightmare for our company. Come to find out that Chase only took care of their high end clients such as Ruth's Chris Steak house and Potbelly. Chase knew what they did to all their small business customers, and like always they have shown their GREED. Chase has let us down once again. As we bailed out big banks in 2008 you would think they would haven taken this moment to take care of us their loyal customers. I hope that the Government takes action on having that money returned back to the American people. once this is all over with, we will be moving our business to a small community bank. Branch manager might be the weak link at this location. On two separate occasions she has put personal matters ahead of her customer. Service. My most recent experience; I was waiting to make an adjustment to one of my accounts. The manager and two other bankers we busy so I signed and I waited to be seen by one of them. Some time passed (roughly 5-10 min) and another customer signed in after me. The manager finished first and sent her customers in their way. I assumed she would come out to take the next client.... well I was wrong. Instead in Walks a UPS delivery man to pick up a package from chase. He is given a package from an employee and begins to walk out. The manager sees him and says "wait!, I have a package for you as well." She walks back into her office and begins to pull out a farmer bag with a suit in it. She says "I'm sorry I don't know which suits I'm supposed to send back for him" and begins to look through multiple suits. She takes about 5-10 min looking through to figure out what to send. She then realizes she does not have a box to send them in, so she looks for one but then doesn't have tape to tape the box. Another client walks in and signs up to be seen. The manger then has an employee helping her look for tape and box. After another 10-12 min she finally finds a box but does not have tape. UPS guys says I have tape, she follows him out to get her personal package taken care of. All the whole 3 clients have been sitting in her branch waiting to be seen. She comes back into the bank laughing grabs the clip board and before saying anything says "I can not make any changes to an account nor can I open up account." She calls out my name, I ask if she can handle my problem and she says nope have to speed with a personal banker." I could not believe it. I immediately left. Unfortunately this is not the first time I experienced her inability to help her customers. By far not qualified to handle her job. read more

Everything about this branch is sooo wonderful. It's relatively new, so it has some really modern decor. I come here pretty often to make deposits and whatnot since it's right by my house. The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and very polite. The lobby area is always immaculate and I don't think that I've ever seen any trash on the floor.
