Hot honey chicken burger with green beans
    Orena W.

This place was so wonderful! They decorated it so nice for Christmas. We visited this restaurant today at 2pm for lunch. There were several tables filled up it wasn't that busy. They had a nice Christmas tree, and lots of people were dressed up in Christmas themed clothes. We got the hot honey chicken sandwich with green beans, and the Philly cheesesteak with onion rings. The server was really nice, and our food came really quickly. Everything was amazing. The onion rings were the perfectly crispy I think they used a thin beer batter. The hot honey chicken with soaked in honey. I think it would have been better if they used a crispy chicken to soak up the honey. The honey was no spicy at all. It came with a tomato, and onion rings in the burger. The green beans were the perfect texture and tasted very fresh. This place was so magical. Would totally come again!

I would absolutely 100 and 10 percent not recommend chat a while restaurant in Bath. I took a one bite of steak which I'm not allergic to spit it out and by the time I got it out of my mouth I was already starting to have a reaction. It tasted rotten and a customer dining next to us between later found out was the owner kept insisting it was fine and that we just didn't want to pay which damn right I don't want to pay $81 for a steak that's making me so I can't breathe. He was highly rude and would offer no resolution to the issue and kept saying he would eat that steak which when your 500lb of course you would.

Was very pleasantly surprised at how great this restaurant is! On a cute street with ample parking. The food came out quick and portions were large. The salad was fresh and delicious! Will definitely come back soon

What a fantastic little spot for lunch! We met my parents here and were pleasantly surprised by this eatery on the Main Street in Bath. The server was prompt and knowledgeable. We began with a coupe tasty apps, followed by a filling Santa Fe Salad and Rachel sandwich. The Peach Bourbon Cheesecake for dessert was a perfect finisher. It was a nice spot to sit for "a-whyle" and do a bit of computer work after lunch.

In Bath, NY, I'd say there's no better breakfast than at Chat-A-Whyle. Those potatoes??? Are to die for!!!

I wish I could choose "Very Good" (4.5) vs. "Good" (4.0) but I'd be lying to you if I gave this place a full 5-Star "Great" rating. Read on to learn why. ** MENU ** Whether breakfast or lunch, what I've seen on offer has always been unique, interesting and flavorful. The breakfast potatoes, as cooked by Michelle, are simply TO DIE FOR. The coffee's great, too: rich tasting but smooth. As for desserts, they look great. (Haven't taken the plunge yet.) ** SERVICE & VIBE ** Both table service and the general vibe here are great. I'm impressed by both! Chat-A-Whyle's clearly a local place but appeals to a wider audience than that. Women like me appreciate, too, that the multi-stall restroom is cute, clean and well stocked without being fussy or overdone. ** APPEARANCES ** The exterior's a little sad looking and clearly out of sync with the restaurant's interior. Even simply painting a bit of trim would make it look more inviting and "alive." I bet regulars would step in and lend a hand. Heck, even I'd be willing to lend a hand. The place has that kind of charm! IN BAD TASTE? On my first visit, I mentioned that the "Open" sign is small and barely visible. I then pointed to a "Welcome" sign propped up on the interior and suggested similar sizing. Someone who seemed to be an owner screwed up his face, got defensive and explained it away. (Uh, do you want business?)

Really upgraded since my last visit several years ago. Charming, wide ranging menu and it looked pretty busy. The vegetable beef soup was yummy and homemade and the beef topped tator tots rocked. We were stuffed but the deserts looked epic.

    Homemade rye. Vege omelet.

I visit family in Bath often, but Bath has only a few options for diner-esque, family-friendly, sit-down restaurants. At Stephanie's, they are all of the above. The dining room is on the smaller side, but I have never waited super long for service or been disappointed in the quality of service here. They are so nice and attentive! They have a great menu with everything you would expect to get for a classic diner breakfast or brunch. I always get a cheese omelette, wheat toast, and a side of homefries. The prices are fair, not as cheap as say Denny's would be, but Stephanie's has the convenience of being close to home and one of the only places with a dining room. I highly recommend them and hope the menus pics are helpful!

Though we were immediately seated and provided menus, it took a full 35 minutes between ordering and being served. My better and wiser half chose a short order of pancakes with whipped cream and an abundance of fresh strawberries. I went with the Best Seller - easy over eggs, toast and corned beef hash. I initially thought it was a joke that the menu listed a choice of housemade or canned hash. Choosing the former proved to be a monumental mistake on my part as the hash had the consistency of jerky after having spent too much time on the grill prior to being served. I suggest that you take the advice of The Animals -"Oh mother, tell your children not to do what I have done". The rating for my meal should 2 stars, my wife's 3.

Pretty good menu choices at good prices. The seating area is small, but has a nice bar and TVs on each wall. Ordering anything for takeout is an option, but pizza and wings are a nice alternative to Pizza Hut or the slightly pricier Rico's. Parmesan garlic wings are the favorite in my family and the Buffalo wing pizza has a nice bite to it. Not the most upscale joint, but good for a family dinner or a quick stop for fish-fry on Fridays. The bar-style munchies are a great snack when you are out drinking! Lots of brown-monotone menu options though. The salads pretty much have a bunch of toppings that will not leave you feeling like you just ate a salad. If that's not a problem for you, the taco salad is pretty great! The munchies, fried food, and plain pizzas are pretty much the only vegetarian options, not anything available that is vegan. I know this is a local, family-owned joint that can make up for the lack of other sit-down-restaurant-type establishments in this area.

Since I'm never in Rochester, I was excited to learn of a restaurant serving them in the Southern Tier. On entering, I noticed that the place looks like an old bar. The building is old, which has to be a challenge for the owner. It needs to be totally remodeled. The problem I have is the place had clutter everywhere. Surely they could do a better job hiding their stuff. The young man at the front has the personality of a door knob. He shouldn't be in the front of the house, having contact with customers. He would be better working in the back of the house. Well, after 30 minutes my plate arrived. I was only one of two customers in the place. I'm sure my order was lost, as I heard the cook ask the guy up front what I was waiting for. The plate was good, not great. A Garbage plate is usually spicy and this one wasn't. Also the Mac salad was too creamy. However, this was their interruption so I'm not going to be too critical. It wasn't bad, just different. Probably not going to return, but if I was in the area, I might give them another chance.
