This visit was very disappointing compared to previous experiences here. Servers and hosts/hostesses still asked multiple times whether I was a guest in the hotel and for my room number. For example, at breakfast Sunday the host asked for my room number before seating me. The first server asked for my room number before taking my order. When I asked for the bill, a different server asked for my room number. Same thing in the lounge Sunday night. Host asked if I was staying in the hotel and for my room number. First server asked for my room number when taking my order. She handed me over to a second server who also asked for my room number. When I asked for the check, a third server asked for my room number. Why the host or hostess cannot note that on the check to communicate it to the rest of the team is not obvious to me. Or if the information isn't recorded, what is the point of continually asking for it? Service in the garden restaurant and the bar was haphazard. Always courteous, but not consistently attentive. It was worst during slow periods when there were more servers than tables. It seemed that everyone assumed somebody else would take care of the guests while many servers were devoting most of their attention to other servers. It was especially annoying trying to get the bill on Saturday afternoon when two nearby servers had their backs turned to me while chatting with each other for almost fifteen minutes before one finally turned around and saw me waiving for the check. Although the bartender was very nice, my Vesper at the martini bar Friday night was not well-made. Instead of a clean simple drink, something was sprayed on the side of the glass. Plus, the bartender did not express the oil from the lemon peel across the top of the drink. To me, this is a key indicator of a proper martini when ordered with a twist. Maybe lemon oil was in the spray bottle but it smelled and tasted like perfume. This experience was surprising because when I was here about a year ago, the company had flown out a bartender from London (if memory serves, his name was Caesar) specifically to train the bar staff on making martinis. Service in the bar and lounge area often seems to indicate a lack of training. Servers tended to take one order from one table and then head directly to the bar without checking on their other tables. It's not just annoying but very inefficient because it results in extra back and forth trips. When I ordered a snack in the lounge, once it arrived I had to ask for a napkin rather than one being brought automatically. (But, the guacamole and chips were excellent even late at night on a Sunday.) Monday morning breakfast, the host was dour. Didn't say good morning, just asked for my room number and took me to a table. Sparkling water and coffee came quickly. (Their coffee is good.). But, then I sat for ten minutes looking at three servers standing in the corner behind the garden bar chatting with each other before someone came to take my food order. I ordered eggs over easy. They arrived scrambled. After I sent them back, when the eggs over easy arrived the toast and potatoes were cold. It gave me the impression that the toast and potatoes were not freshly made for the new order of eggs. Then, after being asked three times if I was a guest in the hotel and for my room number, when the bill arrived it didn't come with a pen or a form for a room charge. I asked the server for a pen. He asked, "are you a guest of the hotel?" $77.37 before tip for eggs, bacon, coffee, and juice. The service should be better at this price point. Housekeeping was mixed. It was excellent in the morning and my room was usually serviced quickly after I requested it while at breakfast. However, my room only received turn down service on two of the four nights of my stay. I had been a big fan of Chateau Marmont, but after this experience am not certain I will stay there again during my next trip to Hollywood.

Absolutely lovely stay at chateau marmont all of the staff was incredibly kind, didn't get much content as photos were not allowed. A nice quiet and relaxing brunch was spent in the outside restaurant it was about 100 degrees and we felt so comfortable enjoying our lunch. Had a tasty matcha iced latte with oat milk, the veggies with eggplant roasted dip and ended with a kettle of hot green tea. Place is such a vibe, rooms are comfortable, guests are unique and made so many new friends we've kept in touch with!

I treated myself for my birthday. The experience was def worth it. Unfortunately, the service did lack friendliness and attentiveness. The restaurant wasn't busy so I was not sure why our server just kept passing our table and not checking on us. That would've been nice. I asked for hot sauce and never she never brought it until I asked a busser that was cleaning the table next to us. My breakfast sandwich was okay. There was plenty of egg in it and very nice and spongy however, the sandwich did lack a little flavor. I do have to say the ricotta pancakes with phenomenal. Overall, it was a nice brunch.

The last time I had a meal at Chateau Marmont was brunch 12 years ago. This time, we went for dinner, and my only complaint is that I wasn't hungrier! Two of us had the spaghetti bolognese, which we both enjoyed. Another person had the cheeseburger and fries (she didn't share ANY), and our fourth person had the Caesar salad -- which, if you are a Caesar salad person, you know can be lighter or heavier on the anchovy-ness. This one was on the heavier fishy side, complete with an anchovy on top. If that's your jam, you will enjoy it! But the real star (see what I did there?) of the dinner was our dessert -- some kind of a magical ice cream sundae with peanut butter and pretzels and hot fudge. I wish I'd just ordered three of those! We shared it between the four of us and agreed it was the highlight. It was a pricy evening -- but honestly, that was more because of the drinks we had than the food, which I think for LA was reasonably priced. I am not someone who really cares about whether I see a celebrity, and wasn't looking for any -- but one thing I did notice was a real affection between the folks who worked there and some of the guests who were clearly repeat visitors. People hugged each other -- the servers and bartenders teased each other good naturedly. In a town that puts the "Boo" in "bougie," Chateau Marmont felt like a really comfortable, beautiful place to share a meal with dear friends.

This review is for the restaurant only because I will never be able to afford even one night's stay at the hotel ($1000 minimum as of this review and that is certainly for the lowest "budget" room possible). Nor would I ever pay that much or anything like it for one night at any hotel and don't get me started on that. Sunday brunch was lovely. First, though, you need to deal with the parking. Better yet, park elsewhere and just walk in. I learned--the hard way--there are TWO valet stations. One is for the hotel and one is for the restaurant. I think. Anyway, I went to the wrong valet station, of course, received a little attitude from the guy up front, but they took my very non-luxury car anyway. (Valet is $25 before tip, FYI.) Yes, the restaurant prices are ridiculous. $29 for a very modestly-sized (that's what she said) Bloody Mary is absurd. I will say, from watching the bartender at work, he knows what he is doing. The breakfast sandwich sounded very ordinary but it was absolutely delicious. The scrambled egg tartine was equally delicious. The chef knows how to make great eggs here. We also splurged on a nice but way too expensive baguette as an "appetizer," just because. It was fine. Service was very good. Most people here are famous or zillionaires or both and the service they receive is probably a little better. So be it. We weren't rushed in any way and everyone who tended our table was very pleasant and attentive. The garden dining area is relatively small. The decor is interesting. It reminded me of being in Turkey, even though I have never been there. Yes, my ignorance or Turkish culture is on full display. At any rate, it is a peaceful setting. If I were to compare this weekend brunch spot to the brunch at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel, I would say the latter is better. I have never bad a bad meal at the Polo Lounge and the service (with one minor exception) has always been amazing. I think the dining area setting at the Polo Lounge is better, too. Additionally, you can actually walk around that hotel and stretch your legs a little. For non-guests of the property, you simply do not get to wander around the Chateau Marmont, probably for good reason. Yes, the prices are ridiculous but I am glad I came. I cannot complain.

Chateau Marmont is a place that it feels necessary to tick off the bucket list at some point, whether you're visiting LA or a local. We came here as a party of two on a Sunday for brunch in October. I'd made a reservation on Resy that was fairly easy to get a week before. Chateau Marmont is located on the edge of a street in Hollywood Hills that is narrow and at the bottom of a steep hill, so there are really no parking options besides valet. The driveway is also narrow and can be tricky to get into. After parking with valet, we went into the hotel and were greeted immediately by a friendly staff member, and showed to our table in the courtyard. The courtyard is a stunning space and feels like a classic Old Hollywood place. We received water and menus immediately and ordered soon after. I didn't have high expectations for the food but we both enjoyed our meals a lot. The waffles were perfectly made and not overly sweet. My husband enjoyed his eggs Benedict and the side of chicken sausage was great. This feels like a place I'll come back to with out-of-town friends for the ambiance.

This place is so yummy and sober. The best margarita is still even a year later I had a chicken salad which was a chopped salad added with chicken chicken the super moist super delicious. The surface was fast and the vibe and ambience is absolutely great. You're really paying for the vibe. We had two drinks and a salad with chicken and it cost me $100 so just remember you're paying for the vibe.!

The Chateau is just an iconic monument that you have to check out at least once if you're in LA. The food isn't revolutionary, especially for the price point, but it's still quite nice. The garden is honestly stunning and the staff was attentive & kind.

The patio is classic and has lots of option for shade. The staff is attentive and gracious. I went with a group so we had an array of appetizers including the crudités and truffle fries (the fries are delightful). I opted to get the spaghetti bolognese as it seemed popular amongst other reviews. It was very good. For the desserts, the tiramisu and cheesecake were standouts. While it's on the pricey side it's a fun spot if you want something very Hollywood.

Very cute place to come and eat. Came here for our Christmas luncheon in December. Everything was great until we asked an employee if they could take a picture of us and she said no. I think it's very rude especially when you have been asked very politely.

What if I conveniently "lost my room key fob"?

Our room had a tub. The decor is Art Deco. It felt like a 1950s apartment with widescreen TV and a comfortable bed.

Everyone from the front desk to the valet to the hotel restaurant are kind and helpful. As others have mentioned, the courtyard, outside space is beautiful. A classy, almost Italian country feel. Big white leather booths that are lovely to lounge in, whether to eat, have a glass or wine, or just hang with a book. We just loved the restaurant at the hotel. We accidentally stumbled once we got there into their Happy Hour (so lucky) which was amazing. We enjoyed our experience SO MUCH we went back for dinner! That's how good it is! Sat by the outdoor fireplace - very romantic - and had an equally lovely late night dinner. He would later open several other SLS properties, including one in Las Vegas (it's now the Sahara). Although he's no longer with SLS, there are still properties worldwide. This one is now part of Marriott's Luxury Collection. I believe it's the first North American hotel designed by famed French designer Philippe Starck, whose designs are always whimsical, eccentric, out-of-the-ordinary. I believe its uniqueness and iconic status is why very little has been changed regarding the hotel's design, and what has been refreshed has been clearly done with Starck's vision kept in mind. SLS itself was a complete gutting of the former Le Meridien Hotel. I took a look at my photos from my first stay before posting this review; they were taken with a digital camera, before phone cameras had good quality. The exterior, hotel lobby entry and patio, valet area and ground floor public areas (the dining space now called The Nook, the concierge desks, the foyer for the meeting rooms) are pretty much unaltered, although I don't recall the nearly full-size white horse wearing multiple strands of pearls with a lampshade on its head. The images in the elevators are unchanged. What is different here is the large entryway and outdoor lounge located behind the valet stand. This area has been closed since the pandemic, open for private events on occasion. Originally it was the entry to the large, highly acclaimed restaurant The Bazaar by Jose Andres, when chef Andres was near the beginning of his illustrious career. I remember this tapas-style restaurant was wildly popular and had several different dining concepts within. One of them was Saam, an exclusive limited-seating tasting-menu spot that later morphed into Somni. Somni reopened post-pandemic, without chef Andres, in another space in West Hollywood and now has 3 Michelin stars, helmed exclusively by chef/owner Aitor Zabala. I'd say the lack of a signature restaurant is one of SLS's shortcomings, especially considering its past. I noticed in my old photos there used to be a Morton's Steakhouse connected to SLS that's also now an empty/unused space. I would describe SLS's chief design components in 3 words: monkeys, mirrors, chandeliers. They are everywhere. But it's not a case of style over substance; service and amenities overall were good. The hotel overall skews dark. There's virtually no natural light in the ground floor public spaces, and the rooms also lack some light due to the smallish size of the windows. But they are definitely brighter than before. SLS has at least one interior courtyard; my room faced this way, as do any rooms with terraces or patios. I loved the often humourous lit panels that have the room numbers on them--animals or 17th century people with whimsical features and/or monkeys "graffiti'd" in. The room was pretty spacious. There was evidence of a past mini-bar, now just an empty fridge (which I prefer) and an empty drawer with space for "Saints" and "Sinners". There were 3 types of fancy glassware and in illy coffee machine. I remember the triangular-ish stainless steel sink and back-lit shelves in the bath. The best part was the A/C could be set below 65 degrees, which was essential during the heatwave that shrouded my stay. The layout of the rooftop pool deck is the same, although there are no longer huge framed mirrors and paintings surrounding the pools, allowing for more seating. There are 2 pools, one less than a foot deep, the other less than a yard deep. There's quite a variety of seating. There's a restaurant/bar here called LaDiDa that serves lunch and dinner and a weekend brunch they're really trying to promote. I did a lunch here; service was friendly but SLOW--servers cover the entire pool deck. The ground floor restaurant The Nook serves breakfast and lunch. If you have a breakfast plan like I did, there are quirky rules as to what you can order that aren't related to cost. On 2 separate occasions I ordered 2 cold beverages (instead of one hot and one cold) and a smoothie--they let both errors slide but was warned I was not playing by the rules. There's a automatic 20% service charge for any dining option at SLS, so service can be perfunctory, although always friendly. Just beyond The Nook is Sushi by Scratch, an omakase tasting menu for 10 people at a time, with 3 seatings nightly and one lunch seating on weekends. Aside from room service, those are all the SLS dining options. But there are oh-so-many dining options nearby, many walkable. And the hotel does have a house car, actually a large Mercedes bus that can hold at least 8 passengers. It's first come, first served. and only does drop-offs, not pick-ups. Overall a very nice staycation. It was like entering a time-warp into the past, but SLS's style is perhaps ageless?

There are six floors in total and our room was on the 4th floor, but we could still hear almost every car passing by outside. Also surprising for a Luxury Collection property: there were no vanity care amenities in the room. First time using an Illy espresso machine, usually I see Nespresso ones. Breakfast seating is quite limited. That said, the American breakfast was pretty good. The orange juice, the coffee was solid, and the mushroom and spinach sides were especially good.

My car was totaled, my apartment became uninhabitable, and my little emotional support animal, Rumi, and I suddenly found ourselves living in a hotel. I came here hoping for a safe place to stay. What I've found is so much more. Jesse and the entire front desk team set the tone from day one. Every interaction has been met with warmth, patience, and genuine kindness. They never treated me like a room number. They treated me like a person whose world had just been turned upside down. Olga is an angel. She didn't just clean my room. She hung up my clothes, vacuumed, made everything feel peaceful again, and gave me one of the warmest hugs I've had in a very long time. It may have been a simple act to her, but it meant everything to me. She reminded me what compassion looks like. Logan has been so kind in every way and he completely stole Rumi's heart. Every time he sees her, he surprises her with treats and makes her feel like the most important little guest at the hotel. Watching someone love my dog so effortlessly has brought so much joy during an incredibly difficult time. Robert at concierge has been lovely. I deeply appreciate the care that goes into every interaction. Jessica at the bar has always been warm, welcoming, and kind. Sometimes remembering someone's name, asking how they're doing, or simply smiling can change the entire course of their day. The team at Cavatina has been just as wonderful. Every single person I've interacted with has made me feel genuinely welcome. Their kindness isn't an exception. It's the culture. Thank you John for the incredible suggestions of food and wine. Over the past two weeks, I've been reminded that true hospitality has very little to do with beautiful buildings and everything to do with beautiful people. When your whole world collapses, you don't remember the thread count, the lobby, or the décor. You remember the people who looked you in the eye. The people who asked how you were doing and made you feel safe. Every single one of you has given me that. Thank you for reminding me that humanity is alive and well. I will never forget the way you've made me feel and would recommend this to anyone looking for an incredible experience in the heart of LA, and West Hollywood.

They told me I could not take it in as you are basically forced to purchase their food. My friend had asked for me if anything could be made vegan and nothing could. It seems weird that if a place can't accommodate your dietary restrictions, that they basically force you to instead starve. It also seemed surprising for them to offer nothing, when LA is such a vegan friendly city! Nevertheless, I really enjoyed their pool and had a lovely afternoon. It was popping when I first arrived, but as the afternoon turned to evening, it became more tranquil and peaceful and we could actually enjoy the pool and surrounding areas. I loved the vibe of the DJ playing some upbeat sounds and the furniture was all in great condition and very comfortable. The pool itself was warm and it felt good to dip my legs in. The people there had such a great energy. I loved the exquisite views of Hollywood and being able to see the sunset there felt magical. Parking is a little difficult in the area but I did manage to find some free street parking a few blocks south in the neighborhood. I just had to move my car by 7 pm since that's when it became permit only!

Let me tell you all about it! Entering the Andaz Hotel is amazing! It's like the stress of the day disappears. The lobby has a modern home feel and is very welcoming. The concierge are attentive and very friendly. There's even some treats like snacks and magazines at their desk. I let them know I was here for my friend's birthday at the pool. I received a keycard that allowed me up to the rooftop. At the rooftop I was greeted by a nice security guard who checked my bag and directed me towards the cabana that my friend reserved. The place was packed with people lounging, in the pool and at the bar. There was an awesome dj spinning great music! You can order food and drinks at the bar. The pool is a beautiful blue and felt amazing. I loved it!

Created an account via their website and booked a 1 night stay in the City King suite. $417 after taxes and including valet = $617. (Sat/Sun) LOVED their eco friendly vibe and thoughtfulness in the design of the property. Even down to the glass cups for complimentary water. Our room keys were wooden chips, the flooring material in the elevators were soft and cushion-y (so unique), real plants placed throughout the property- even in your room, free rides via their Audi vehicles (3 mile radius) and so much more. Upon arrival we were quickly checked in. Probably took no more than 10 mins. Valet was $75. Pets however stay for free! (So awesome) We ended up on the 10th floor and found a bottle of prosecco in the room to start the celebrations. The room was super clean, eco-friendly and the view was beautiful. Bedding was comfy and so was the additional couch in the room. Amenities were bomb and fridge options were too good! (Good brands) The lounge at check in was such a vibe with dim lighting. Sat there a few times (evening and morning) to just relax and enough the ambiance. Hotel was super lively with guests and community. There was a dj one evening and they seem to have a lot of wellness activities and offers which was nice to see. There's a breakfast spot right next to checkin (we didn't try) and a complimentary fresh fruit stand in the mornings. The architecture of the property is so beautiful and you can tell they really care for it (and the plants!) The grand stairs were my favorite be sure to take some pics in the evening - the glow is to good. Will definitely be back. I'm a fan!

Is this the "best" Best Western? Well, it might be. But it is still a Best Western…read more The location, smack dab in the middle of the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, is incredible which is why you are not paying typical Best Western prices. It is situated literally next to the Sunset Tower Hotel which is a celebrity hotspot and extremely expensive. The Andaz Hotel is across the street and Saddle Ranch and the famous Comedy Store are maybe a one or two minute walk away. The room was very nice and the bathroom was good-sized. The shower was also excellent (except the body wash in the wall dispenser was empty--hey, it's a Best Western, did you expect perfection?). There is a free continental breakfast and it is fine. The pool is good-sized but there were no towels available when we arrived. Again...this ain't the Beverly Hills Hotel. The self-parking garage is on the other side of the property and is connected to the hotel. Be aware: some rooms, like ours, overlooked Sunset Boulevard. Sunset Boulevard is extremely loud, especially at night. If that may disturb you, ask for a room facing the other way. Unfortunately, the worst thing going for this hotel is the clientele. Yes, this is a budget hotel chain but the prices you pay at this particular spot are far higher solely because of its location. Sadly, some of the guests were incredibly noisy and rude and apparently, smoking at the pool is perfectly acceptable. I could give other unfortunate examples. So this pricier budget hotel still attracts a very budget crowd. Would I stay here again? If I wanted to be in this location without paying $500 or more a night, yes.

The rooms feel modern, fresh, and incredibly clean, with a cozy boutique vibe that you wouldn't normally associate with a Best Western. In fact, when you think of "Best Western," this is definitely not what comes to mind -- it feels more like a charming, stylish boutique hotel tucked right into the heart of West Hollywood. I stayed on the third floor with easy access to the backyard pool area, and it was such a relaxing setup. The little patio and pool space are absolutely beautiful -- peaceful, well-kept, and perfect for unwinding. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making the whole stay feel warm and inviting. They also offer breakfast, which is such a great bonus, and the manager is truly amazing -- welcoming, attentive, and genuinely caring about guests' experiences. Even though there are much fancier hotels nearby, I would choose this one again in a heartbeat. It feels personal, cozy, and special. I'll absolutely be coming back over and over again.
