This is probably my favorite Kimpton in the US. It feels secluded and away from the LA bustle and hustle, and is an oasis of calm for a long weekend stay. We were in town for a show at the Hollywood Bowl, so this was the perfect location to explore the local area and an easy distance from the Bowl. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and check in was smooth and easy. The room (a complimentary upgrade thanks to IHG One Rewards Diamond member status) was huge, well appointed and very comfortable. We had a well stocked bar in the room. Both room service and bar food was really good throughout the stay, and the bar was a fun place to hang out and beat the jet lag. We loved the lobby decor and art installation at the hotel. The bar set up was a work of art in itself, with beautiful fresh flower arrangements. This feels like a lot more upscale than other hotels in its price bracket in the area. Unless you are being booked here as the "best option" for your needs by your concierge nurse after surgery, just don't. And even if you are -- prepare yourself. In 2024, we spent over 30 cumulative days at La Peer while recovering from two separate rounds of plastic surgery. For our surgeon, this property was considered the "budget option" for post-op stays. Combined with the transparent pet policy (no extra charge for a small dog), it initially made financial sense -- which is why we gave it multiple chances. After two extended stays and a third booking attempt, I can confidently say the experience was consistently frustrating. The ONLY positive I can offer is that they do not charge extra for a small dog. That's it. Everything else? Staffing is horrific. Communication is awful. Follow-through is absolutely atrocious. The attitude from employees ranges from dismissive to openly condescending. On our first visit, the concierge nurse required a second room because she was afraid of dogs. Fine. However, despite this being part of a coordinated post-op arrangement, the hotel attempted to charge us the standard walk-in rate for that additional room instead of honoring the medical referral context. This resulted in unnecessary back-and-forth while I was literally on a gurney in the open lobby, with people standing around trying to figure out what room I was being placed in. Not exactly the seamless, discreet experience one hopes for immediately after plastic surgery. During that same stay, we asked to borrow scissors. A woman with a French accent scolded us and told us we could not "perform surgery in the room." That was never remotely the plan -- we simply needed scissors. The response was bizarre, accusatory, and completely unnecessary. On our second stay -- the night before surgery, when I needed to be freshly showered and prepared -- we requested towels. We were told no one could bring towels until the morning shift. In a hotel. Adjacent to Beverly Hills. The night before surgery. There were many more small breakdowns, but the pattern was consistent: poor communication, no accountability, and an odd amount of attitude for a property positioning itself as boutique luxury. When we attempted to book a third stay, staff suddenly claimed they had no knowledge of any partnerships with plastic surgeons -- partnerships that were the entire reason we had been referred there previously. The inconsistency was enough that we booked elsewhere. To add insult to injury, parking is $65 per night, other hotels in the area discount parking and amenities knowing plastic surgery recovery patients aren't driving and won't be using the amenities much if at all. We have stayed at other Kimpton properties and had perfectly fine experiences. This is, by far, the worst service we've encountered within the brand. If you are recovering from surgery and need calm, responsive, competent support -- this is not it. read more

My coworker set up a gathering amongst us travel agents to meet on a weekday night in the lobby area. The hotel is situated in a walkable neighborhood with many restaurants and bars nearby. We ordered cocktails and appetizers from the bar which is situated next to the pool. The drinks were strong and amazing with great flavors. I don't write bad reviews but this was the worst hotel experience I've ever had so I feel the need to share so that others can avoid this place. I booked this hotel through my Amex Platinum which came with some perks including a free upgrade and early check-in. We arrived for check-in at about 1:30pm (normal check-in time is 4:00pm) and the lady at the desk said a room was ready. However, they had a much nicer "designer suite" available if we wanted to wanted to wait a bit--they were cleaning it at the time. Of course we chose the upgrade and walked out to get lunch. We came back 45 minutes later and tried to check-in and somehow the rune was still not ready... still cleaning but "would be ready soon". We then walked over to the bar (No Rose-no issues with the bar, it was nice, good drinks, good service) for a couple of drinks. After another 45 minutes we went back to the front desk, it's now 3pm, and the room is STILL not ready. At this point we are offered the standard room again or to wait for the suite which would be ready "within half an hour", but now we've waited 1.5 hours so we might as well wait for the nicer suite right!? Turns out that was a huge mistake. The suite was not ready until 4:30pm and we didn't get up to the room until almost 5pm. When we got there there were huge clumps of hair left (see pics) and the pillow cases were WET. So disgusting. At this point we were in a hurry to make our dinner rez so we left and complained at the desk. The manager apologized profusely and said they would take care of it. We got back around midnight and the hair was STILL THERE. At least the pillow cases were dry so that we could sleep. At that point we were too tired to complain so we just went to sleep and left early the next day. We didn't get to fully enjoy our stay and it really ruined our night. They did comp our parking ($70) and offered us a couple of free drinks at the bar (whoopie). Totally not enough compensation for what we went through but I was so over it I just wanted to get out of there. Overall we spent 4 hours in the lobby, and 1 awake-hour in our room. DO NOT STAY HERE!! Unless you're not planning to sleep at all - then it's fine. This "hotel" tries to put on a show. It pretends to be a glitzy Beverly Hills adjacent high rise hotel. Instead it's a converted factory on an alley like side street -- pretending to be world-class. It's a 1/2 notch above a $99 a night La Quinta. But you know what the La Quinta would get right? Sound insulation. There was ZERO F%]^ks given when they converted this old crap hole aide building into a "hotel". They did it the CHEAPEST HOME DEPOT GRADE everything. Including sound insulation I know better. I'm in the Business. I've stayed here 6-8 times before. For some reason I forget or I fool myself into thinking this time will be better. It never is. For the absurd outrageous RIP OFF RATES they charge you can stay at a real hotel nearby. This one does NOTHING for guest peace. The sound and vibration transference between floors and neighboring rooms is absolutely disgraceful. Somebody cut corners and decided not to care about the noise in the rooms. All. Night. Long. Every door slam. Every dresser drawer. Every bathroom door closure within 200-300 feet in all directions literally reverberates across the room and vibrates the very wall where your head is pressed against as a headboard. The room AC is motion controlled. So to add insult to injury at 3:30 am when you can sleep from then noise and vibrations -- you're also soaking wet in bed from the humidity build up in the room since their system leaves the fan operating to give the illusion of AC - but no compressor so the air becomes stale and humid. You know. That awful feeling of being both too hot and too cold at once. While not sleeping. All. Night. Long. Avoid this crap hotel. They think they are so much more than they are. They are a joke and not worth 1/4 of their rip off room rates. Shameful. Disgraceful. Awful property that lowers the already not great IHG name. Not to mention eviscerates the good Kimpton name they bought. read more

Pretentious, snooty and over-priced. Great location, food and trendy. Pick your poison really. I'm from the east coast, raised in Brooklyn, minutes from NYC, I thought I knew what it was to be pretentious, no no no West Hollywood, you kicked it up 10 notches for sure. The hotel is nice, beautifully decorated, clean and well kept. The room was fair sized with a decent view of the pool. Our bathroom sink wouldn't drain, the French doors to the balcony wouldn't lock in place and the shower handle would fall off if not careful. Really for me these weren't deal breakers, easy fixes honestly, I'd return if in the area again. read more

Overpriced, disorganized, terrible service. Total shitshow of a hotel. The location is great but it fails on so many basic things. They keep messing up orders at breakfast and at the bar. They kept messing up the charges. It took us 25 minutes to check out because they didn't know what they were charging us. A friend even got charged an overnight parking fee even though no one had a car. It takes 20 minutes to get a coffee or orange juice at breakfast. And 45 minutes to get a parfait and eggs. read more

Vibey and quiet hotel in WeHo and is centrally located. I stayed at the La Peer while visiting LA for work, and was impressed with the space and how clean everything is. Here are the top things to keep in mind while booking: 1. Clean rooms with small balconies (in a good way to get fresh air) 2. Great products 3. Beautiful common spaces and pool area 4. Central location to get around WeHo and the rest of LA 5. Quiet enough that you're further away from the busier parts of WeHo but close enough to walk to things I lowered the star because when I was there, there was an issue with the fire alarm and it went off in the middle of the night and throughout the morning. read more

Granted this Hotel was a little small and did not have many amenities. The Hotel Lobby offered free drinks from time to time -- which was a plus. However, the room was small for the price of the hotel. In general, the hotel is just small, but that can be expected for the area. The best part of the hotel is how DOG FRIENDLY they are. Also, the service from the receptionist at the hotel was very nice and accommodating and friendly!! However, I would not pay for these type of prices for this type of room for this location for this particular hotel. if you are looking for a tranquil experience at a luxury hotel- this is not the place for you. I attempted to relax by the pool, but children were let loose to run around the pool screaming and splashing other guests. I tried to ask their parent- who was not watching them- to rein them in a bit. He responded by complaining about me to the manager, who immediately believed their story of me telling them the hotel "wasnt family friendly." I tried to tell the manager what really happened- but was being shouted over by the father. I thought this was a nice hotel- unfortunately I was proven otherwise. Clean & good location, but the rooms are so small and our material bed frame was tore up on the foot board, the tv never worked right and our view was of a lumber yard, all for $850 a night. The night staff is less than helpful so make sure you have all that you need before 9pm. The hotel is freezing at all hours including the hallways. The rooms are comfortable but again freezing upon arrival. The location is good and the hotel is clean. Ozzie the Manager is extremely helpful and very nice. Wonderful hotel! First of all the hotel is gorgeous. From the entrance to the lobby, the restaurant, the rooms.... But sometimes all that glitters isn't gold. Not true here - this place is a gem! I normally stay in 2 or 3 of my favorite hotels in LA but wanted to try one of the highly rated boutique hotels here in case friends or clients ever asked for recommendations. This did not disappoint! Andre and the rest of the team here were amazing. They really handle stress well. Some credit card issues came up for a group in the lobby and were dealt with calmly and successfully. I had an issue with my room that was immediately dealt with - with kindness, respect and efficiency. As for the room: it was immaculate, the bed and linen were top rate and super comfy. The soak tub was luxurious and every item I ordered from room service was accompanied by wonderful mini glass bottles of jam, honey, etc. And the mini bar wasn't mini - it was bountiful! Unusual and yummy things (and thank God no Pringles!). they made lots of glass bottled small acua panna water available (not toxic plastic bottles). Even the engineer who helped me sync with their wifi was friendly, and the valets were totally nice, even helped me unpack some things out of my heavy suitcase. Everything in Los Angeles is expensive, you get used to that. But so often what you get is not worth the money. Staying at the Kimpton La Peer was worth every penny, and in all respects far better than some of the hotels where I've paid twice as much and gotten nothing close to the service I got here. I would unqualifiedly recommend this hotel and I can honestly say that staying here made a hectic business trip far more manageable and yes - even enjoyable waking up here! read more

My wife and I stayed here when our baby boy was born and had to be in the NICU. The location is perfect, lots of great restaurants around, the hotel is very modern and the experience was great. The hotel looks very cool and modern when u walk in but once you get off the elevator the carpets and everything is shabby. I changed my room three times due to the smell of food that goes to every floor through their terrible ventilation system. The maid service is poor, they left dirty dishes from the night before. I asked for ice cream and typical of everything in LA, it came like a bowl of soup but it didn't register with the person who brought it. I would never stay here again, way over priced as well as the food. Very disappointed but again it's LA. read more

The Kimpton La Peer is a beautiful boutique hotel central to so much shopping and eating. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because of its location. The space itself is modern, and the staff are accommodating and helpful. The rooms are pretty looking, but left a lot to be desired. All looks no substance? The rooms are small for a hotel at this price point, the bed could've been comfier (it felt kind of lumpy. Not plush where you feel like you're sinking into a cloud), and the walls are thin. However, I did love how powerful the water pressure was in the shower. There is a $30 resort fee that gives you a $20 breakfast credit, free bike rental, uber up to a 1 mi distance from the hotel, etc. but we didn't use much of that stuff. We did enjoy the cocktail hour between 5-6 pm, which is part of the resort fee. And the coffee and cold pressed juice offered in the morning was nice and convenient too. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here, but there are definite areas of improvement, especially when you're paying $400+ a night. read more

While the room and facility were nice, there were numerous unsanctioned photo shoots that happened at the pool while we were staying. There were professional crews involved, no signage letting guests know about the shoot, no consent forms were passed around to guests and none of the crew members wore masks. They took up the entire pool during the shoots and were rude about people getting in the water while they were shooting. When I complained at the front desk to Amelia, she rudely told me there's nothing she could do about it even though I voiced my concern that masks weren't being worn by the crew and we were never made aware of the shoots. We never signed any consent form. When checking out the next day, we were told that the general manager would be contacting us that day to discuss our grievances. It's been two weeks and we've heard from no one. For the money we paid to stay here during a pandemic, we feel like our health and privacy as guests were not taken into consideration. read more

Hubby and I stayed here for a mini staycation. Staying here confirmed what we strongly suspected- not all five star accommodations are made alike. The 5 star we enjoyed in san diego was a world apart from this one. The bed was mediocre and made for a poor night's sleep. The pool was freezing and not at all heated. There was no minibar in the room, just a line up of liquors (I don't understand why if minibar was removed because of COVID, why the alcohol stayed?). rather inconsistent. Staff could use a bit more training, some told us info that others later corrected or denied. The girl at check in was sweet, and my husband did say the robes were the best he'd tried. Room seemed well cleaned and sanitized, although we definitely ran through with disinfectant wipes, just in case. Valet parking is 50/night. If you park on the street, you'll pay about $20 and a lot more with your time (moving, re-parking, refeeding the meter, etc.). Elevators are quick moving and require key card swipe to get up the floors. We like Kimpton properties but we likely wont return to this one. read more

For context, I have stayed in multiple Kimpton properties across the US and they've never disappointed... until now. This is NOT a 5-star hotel. I am not sure how Kimpton gets away with referring to itself as such, but after staying here for 4 nights, I can confirm this is more in line with a 3-star hotel. To start, the walls are paper thin and you can hear people all around you. The rooms that face the courtyard are extremely loud. It feels like you are inside of a club with the pulsing music and drunken people shouting. God forbid you need to get some work done in your room or go to bed for an early flight. It is absurd that a 5-star hotel would have rooms this poorly insulated. Do not stay here if you need a quiet room. There is also construction noise during the day, which I understand Kimpton can't control, but it would have been nice to know the hotel is right next to an active construction site before booking. The noise from the person stomping around in the room above me was absurd. I've lived in apartments most of my life, so I'm used to a little noise from neighbors, but this was next level. Literally all I wanted was a quiet place to sleep after working all day. I even asked to be moved to another room away from the courtyard, but was told that the hotel was completely booked. This was a blatant lie, as I checked online and it still showed that you could book a room for this evening. Hmm nothing like 5 star service. As for the room itself, you feel like you are living in a 7-11 due to the amount of items for sale in the room. Everywhere you look in the room, there are items for sale, and the mini fridge was overflowing with items. I couldn't even hang my items in the closet because it was already full of items for sale. Is this a convenience store or a 5-star hotel? The carpet in my room was frayed and the blinds were were messed up. The bed was uncomfortable and sagged. Definitely not what I would expect for nearly $500 a night. Beyond all of this, my biggest issue was the coffee. I had to ask three times for someone to bring a coffee maker to the room. Once the coffee maker was actually brought to the room, there were no mugs and all of the pods were decaf. At this point, I decided I would just go to the lobby for their coffee, but they were out of coffee in the lobby?! Seriously? How hard is it to get coffee at a Kimpton?! A coffee maker is standard in every hotel room at any other hotel chain. If you are going to force people to go to the lobby for coffee, at least make sure you have sufficient supply. It took 14hrs and 3 different calls before someone finally brought non-decaf pods to my room. So much for 5-star service. This hotel is simply not worth the price. There are plenty of other actual 5-star options in West Hollywood that are more even affordable. The Kimpton La Peer is overpriced and disappointing. read more

Right off of Santa Monica and Melrose, this Kimpton is situated in a great part of town with plenty of places within walking distance for a bite to eat. Salt & Straw, Gracias Madre, Tom Tom, Pump, Sur, Craig's... all within minutes of the hotel. Tons of restaurants deliver fairly quickly as well. Traveling for business, I found my room to be a nice size. There was space to unpack and feel settled. The decor is very trendy and modern and they offer bikes if you're vacationing and want to sightsee. Rooms come equipped with yoga mats if you'd like to workout in your room instead of the gym. The hotel lobby bar does get crowded but there's plenty of other restaurants and bars to hang out with and the rooftop has a great view of the city. The pool was pretty empty during the morning/day for guests. The staff was warm and I can't wait to come back to stay again! read more

I was very happy with the location of this hotel. Its one block off of Santa Monica Blvd. A great place to stay, and access all that West Hollywood and Beverly Hills has to offer. The valet parking was fast and easy. ($49.00) per night. The check in process was welcoming, friendly, fast and simple. I was upgraded to another room (though it looked like the same room pictured online that I booked). The room itself is nice. The size is around 400 square feet. The room has allot of liquor, snacks and other items that you can purchase. A big benefit to the room is the items are not on sensors so you will not be charged for moving, or looking at a beverage, or snack. Another HUGE plus is that you can bring your own beverages and remove the hotels from the refrigerator without charge (to make room for your beverages). The lobby offers a full bar, restaurant (did not eat here, but food looked good), and allot of lobby seating to just relax, and chill. In closing, the room beds are very good. The hotel itself is actually quiet for its location in busy West Hollywood. I will stay here again. read more

I have no idea why this isn't rated 5 stars on Yelp. The people are extremely nice and they offer so many complimentary services. If you're paying a lot you wanna get a lot out of it and they certainly offer a lot! They offer a glass of wine in the afternoon. In the morning they have breakfast credit of $20 (if you have it) you can use at the restaraunt that connects to the hotel. In the morning the hotel itself has free drinks by the entrance. Kombucha, tea, coffee, hot chocolate (although i'm not sure if they just offered hot chocolate with cute toppings due to the incoming winter season). They have free car services within 1 mile radius. They did room service while we were gone and when we came back at night they even left us bottles of water, chocolates, and a good night note. They have floss, mouth wash, shower caps, toothbrush, toothpaste, and just about everything that they can lend or for you to keep. They texted me to make sure everything was okay so what the heck! I have absolutely no idea why this hotel isn't rated higher. I would definitely recommend coming here. read more

A wonderful stay! We have stayed at many hotels in LA and was pleasantly surprised that Kimpton had a boutique hotel in this area. This is a gem! Stunning and hip decor throughout. The lobby and bar areas are inviting and comfortable to hangout in. There is a complimentary coffee and tea bar in the morning, and early evening wine. Nice touch. We did choose a room with a terrace overlooking the courtyard area. Lucky us! Lovely to have the open space and enjoy coffee or afternoon drink on the patio. The front desk staff were exceptional, as well as all the valet staff Brianna was especially very helpful and friendly. The folks at the valet were so kind, prompt and friendly - shot outs to Alex, Augusto, Chris & Amari. I apologize if I have forgotten some. When asking for our car, we didn't even have to give tix they knew who were were. A side note: On the day we were checking out there was a HUGE water issue - a pipe had burst and the entire staff could not have been more accommodating and calm. Very professional. The valet parking attendant left a lot to be desired -- very unprofessional while talking to his coworker about someone wanting to park. The language he used and his attitude left an impression that he didn't like working there. He pulled over with my car as if he was ending a race. Not an ounce of consideration on how he handles patrons' cars. Left me wondering how he drives the cars when no one is watching. read more

This newer boutique hotel has its merit. It connects the dots between the uptown chic to downtown hip. Not overwhelmingly heavy on either side. What a great Harmony. Walking into the Kimpton La Peer Hotel, you feel your shoulders drop, your steps get slower. Once the heavy iron gate closed behind you, all the hustles are left behind. You are greeted by a warm genuine voice who comments on things your eyes wandering to. Being late to my brunch reservation; I was reassured and felt very welcomed by the associate answering my call. He would like me to come by still and enjoy a relaxing brunch at their beautiful patio outdoor bar which runs whole day. This is called soft people skills, you offer more when you cannot say no to customer yet you keep your ground. The kiddos at the patio are good kids, polite and a fun bunch. From now and then, comments on my camera, laugh and say funny things to me to keep me entertained. (I always travel alone... no worries ) Forget to mention; they actually bring out the restaurant menu to the bar after they find out I miss the reservation. :) So nice and what's more; the management offers to lit up the fireplace just for me to pictures:) It is truly a grammars' paradise. Do order lots of food plus a few drinks; be respectful to the hotel guests; stay calm & pretty :) People told me not to tell the barista to be easy on the alcohol ; but I did. DANG!!! The flower cocktails is strong and I still have a silly smirk on my face 3 hours later. Grilled calamari is fantastic. They put lots of vegetables on it, I don't like veggies but I found myself spooning into my mouth. It gets some crunchy balls mixed with the sauce. Can be beans? AND of course!!!!!! Got to play at their showroom, I mean their lobby filled of interesting looking furniture and case goods!!!! Too many pictures. There was a quiet lady with long golden hair sitting at the patio bench with her friends. Only her friends talked, I didn't pay attention; may be she is a foreigner. When I left, I looked at her, only to find out it was huge well behaved doggy. All these time, i thought it was a lady since her hair swayed lightly by the wind and she was seating tall.
