In my way back home from an emotional goodbye to a friend, I felt a bit peckish so I found this place advertised on the highway. The parking lot was fairly empty for the time of day but I was hopeful in their ability to produce some good Italian food. I was not impressed, but only because my late husband was Napolitano, born and raised and he was the best Italian cook I've experienced. I suppose on some level I am looking for him in whatever I can to feel closer to him. As for the Chateau, I ordered an appetizer of calamari. It was good but too much for me to consume on my own. Then came an order of garlic bread that I didn't think belonged to me. That also came home with me after confirmation that it was delivered to my table by accident. The main dish was eggplant parm. It was ok. Nothing that I would deem remarkable. The sauce was bland and watery, that was clear from the start. The pasta that came with the dish was way over cooked as well. To say my experience was "meh" would be accurate. The wait staff was wonderful though and the restaurant itself was clean and cheery. Maybe I was there on an off day. We had family dinner here because it is a walk across the parking lot from our hotel. Restaurant looked packed from the outside but inside, it was very roomy that it was not crowded. They have a dining room with plenty of seating and a lounge and bar area with tons of booths and tables as well. It is a huge restaurant. It was a bit too dim for my liking but the food wasn't great either. Our server was pretty great; bubbly, friendly and super helpful, however, she did forget my soup, our drinks and a few other things. The sliced bread loaf was cold and just that, sliced bread. We got the sampler appetizer. The mozzarella sticks were decent, chicken fingers with honey mustard was the best thing we ate there and toasted raviolis were dry and bland. Pizza was soggy but their sausage was tasty. Spaghetti was overcooked and it was in a red sauce that looked creamy and was bland. The twin petite filets were COLD, mashed potatoes barely lukewarm, gravy came out COLD and gelatinous. Only hot item from that meal was the sautéed spinach. I couldn't eat the petite filet meal at all and had to send it back. It felt and looked like it sat out all night as it was a special and they didn't heat it through. The manager was kind to offer me other items from their menu but I was completely done with dinner at that point. I don't recommend this restaurant nor will I ever return. read more

Got together with family this weekend for a celebration of life for my uncle who just passed. We rented a private room that comfortably sat our party of 70-80. And had a set menu buffet with 3 options , pasta, chicken and seafood The food was ok, certainly not the best I've had, and the service as a bit lacking. But overall it was a good space, perhaps a bit dated, but with plenty of room for our party. From the sounds of it, it was a bit pricey , about $40+ per head for food that was mediocre, and service that was a bit lacking. They definitely did not have enough staff to be attentive to our party. I'm not sure how the food from their day to day menu is, but if catering for a large party I may suggest looking elsewhere read more

This was a nice place to have a large family gathering. We had a private room that was big enough for about 80 people. It had plenty of windows so we didn't feel boxed in. The buffet had multiple options, pasta, fish and chicken. They served up small portions but I guess you could always go back. The bread was very tasty and good cannolis for dessert! read more

The service staff is great. I did a To-go order of the Gnocchi and took it home. As my wife started eating, she pulled out a curly black hair with highlights from the sauce. While I did enjoy their burger, this wasn't the best experience. While the staff were great and offered to replace it. I don't think we're going to come back because of this. read more

Had a family event here, food was excellent. Chicken parm and stuffed shells were like my mothers. Red sauce just how we liked it. Peppers and onions were also excellent and flavorful. People were very kind, would totally go again, love the views/ambiance as well. A mimosa my wife got wasnt mixed well and more OJ didnt really solve it, but we are looking forward to coming back because the food is great! The service was really good. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. The restaurant has the vintage family establishment vibe - that I really enjoy and find nostalgic. Right down to the we have Keno signs! lol. Could see my family and I getting a special dinner here in the 80s/90s. I had been to another location that was fancier - but this pressed some of the right buttons for me. They did not skimp on the booze on my cocktail! So that was great! However, The dinner itself was not a very good value for money. My husband got a ceasar salad and a french onion soup. He enjoyed both, but expected the soup to be bigger given the price. But ok, inflation, or something. We did get some complimentary white bread and butter which was fine. I got an individual vegetable pizza which was $13.50 - I asked for olive oil instead of red sauce. What came out surprised me a bit. It looked like something a mom would make in bulk for a child's birthday party. And it was something I would happily eat if it were made for me in someone's home and be grateful... But for $13 I wasn't expecting the black olives that come out of a can... (which, for the record, I do enjoy in my own home). Or how sparse the cheese felt. Maybe I'm being unfair? Maybe I wouldn't have felt ripped off If I'd gotten a pizza with meat? (which, actually - I'm looking at the menu and they are cheaper!? at $11.50?) So, it was a really confusing dinner for me. I liked the waitstaff, I was feeling warm and nostalgic from the atmosphere and booze. But then my food came out and I felt instantly let down. We ordered the Shrimp and scallop arrabatia (sp) on his recommendation and it was delightful as was the Chianti that he recommended. One in our party ordered cheese ravioli with sauce, had to send it back because it was cold. My zucchini was cold as well as being soggy and over seasoned. If I could I would give this place zero stars. We stayed at the hotel next to the restaurant last night. We had the choice to go to the restaurant that was adjacent to the hotel or to go to this Italian one. We chose the Italian one because the menu sounded pretty good. Oh what deceit! The services horrendous. We waited about 45 minutes for our food to come out and it should never have been that long when this is all Frozen food. Advertised as homemade but it definitely isn't. The bread is the same bread that I buy at my local Market Basket. The food was cold I'm not talking just lukewarm they were literally cold Parts in my food which leads me to believe it was heated by a microwave. The waitress never came back to see how we like our food, she never came to see if we needed a refill on our drinks, she never offered us any water. She finally showed up and asked if we were done and gave us boxes to take our leftovers out in. It took her about another 30 minutes to bring the check over to us. I definitely think I should have gone and had dinner at Mickey Morgan's instead. There was too many people for only two wait staff. But I will say, watching the waiter that was taken care of quite a few parties in the room, he was working his butt off. I don't eat fast food, I choose not to eat fast food but unfortunately going to this restaurant I think I would have made a better choice by going to McDonald's. This was absolutely atrocious. For where I live and how much time it takes to make any food the service was good and got here in about 45-60 minuets. I can't really talk about the ambiance because I wasn't there. I read a bunch of reviews before going here and was a bit worried about negative comments regarding service and quality of food. Well, we experienced none of that on our Friday evening visit to the Chateau. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Our server was attentive throughout the evening and immediately brought us delicious bread/butter along with our drinks. I ordered the Seafood Diavolo which had Shrimp, Lobster, Scallops in a spicy sauce served over Linguini. The picture doesn't do it justice - It was a perfect dish! The Linguini was al dente and the seafood was fresh and flavorful. The scallops were absolutely delicious and there were a lot of them, along with a few shelled lobster claws and shrimp. I suspect that I won't be able to order anything else at this restaurant because this dish was so good. My wife had the broiled fish platter that had lobster, crab stuffed shrimp, scallops and haddock. She said it was very good as well. The restaurant is huge with a lot of booth seating as well as tables that can be combined for larger parties. There is a definite 70s vibe (which I like) to the place with its warm color theme and mellow 70s background music. read more

While I love Chateau food, when I do take out I always have the same issue. They place the pasta in container and the add the chicken , eggplant etc with a little sauce instead of putting the sauce fully on the pasta first then adding meat etc with a little more sauce. What I always end up with is enough to eat some pasta but then all remaining is sauceless pasta. I usually have leftovers the next day but not in this case. I end up tossing it because of NO SAUCE. Prices can sometimes be a little high but I don't mind paying the price for the meal if you get what you pay for. Maybe there is enough sauce on the penne but angel hair, not enough! The worst chicken parm ever! It was an early Saturday dinner, a family get together. Drink orders were promptly taken, and we ordered a few apps. Those took awhile to arrive , very long and they were just ok.The server took the dinner order and those were a long wait to receive them. My cousin got chicken parm and penne. There was a lot of sauce , like swimming in it and the pasta overcooked Her drink had fruit a fly hovering. I also got Chicken Parm with spaghetti, also pasta overcooked . The cheese was off, there was a taste of old cheese.My cousins chicken parm was similarly not tasty. Others meals seemed ok but not great. The staff were phoning it in at best. The owners and managers should make sure their staff is trained , well compensated and treated well. The poor experience is clearly the fault of the way they run the place. My boyfriend took me here for dinner last weekend and we had a great time. They have a diverse menu with all the Italian classics and the food was tasty. We split the meatballs and ricotta as an appetizer, I ordered the Baked Stuffed Haddock with Scallop and Crab Stuffing and he got the Trio 3- Chicken Parm, Toasted Ravioli and Penne Pasta. The service was good and the restrooms were clean. I can't think of anything to deduct stars for. Chateau is a dependable, casual, family style Italian restaurant with reasonable prices. If you are looking for a fancy place in Boston's North End, this isn't going to be your cup of tea, but if you want a suburban dining experience in a spacious restaurant with large portions and plenty of parking then Chateau is for you! read more

Been coming here for years....since it opened. The Chateau has always been a reliable and friendly place for lunch, dinner or take out. The menu is huge and there is something for everyone. Seafood is almost always excellent....Very good and generous portions of whole belly Fried Clams, which are hard to find in restaurant these days. Several of our friends are Gluten Free, and they say the GF Pizza here is the best they have ever had. The menu is so full of varied choices, we always have a hard time making a decision! Salads, soups, pastas, Italian dishes, Seafood, Steak Tips, Pizzas, Burgers, etc. All the food is very good, fresh and the portions are generous enough that we usually have a take home box for later. Cocktails and wines are also great....Value for money...The Red Sangria is probably the best we have ever had. It is made in house with a variety of liquors and fruits. Most sandwiches and meals come with one or two sides....Homemade soup, salads and/or a choice of fresh vegetables, which are also impressively good. The basket of fresh Scali bread which is served as you sit down is a real treat. If this is helpful for readers, among our personal favorites are: Eggplant - probably among the best eggplant we have ever had. So instead of the waiter, breaking out everyone's meal and drinks individually , our time was spent doing that job ourselves. It's not convenient at all. If one person has two drinks and the other person only has one or none we were going to split it equally among eight people the cost of different meals etc. So the last part of our evening was to break a bill apart!! Have eaten here many times so know what to expect---- good basic food, large portions and pleasant staff. Today the service end was just off. I stood at the hostess station for 3-4 minutes while the woman did some work on the computer. I have no doubt this was work related and did not need her to stop but a raised eye and an acknowledgment that I was waiting would have been appreciated. Eventually a different staff member approached and asked if I was all set!!! Well, no I wasn't! A table seemed like a good idea. so then I was seated and lunch went smoothly and waitress was fine. After lunch I ordered tea with lemon. The hot water for tea arrived in a mug with the lemon in the water and a tea bag resting on the handle. No saucer or small dish. When I order tea with lemon, the lemon usually comes on the side so it can be squeezed into the tea! And where to put the teabag when finished using that? I used my napkin and rested the used teabag and the lemon on that. When the waitress came with the bill I said it might be good when serving tea to provide a saucer. "we don't have saucers" was the response. perhaps a small dish then so you don't have to clean up this damp napkin and tea bag. "I don't mind doing that" with a bit of attitude! Not the end of the world but maybe some basic customer service training. And I can't be the only customer who has to figure out how to dispose of a tea bag!! read more
