This hotel, although not in the best (or worst) part of the French Quarter, had a lot of charm. The studio was large, it had a separate bedroom, and a living area with a loveseat, sofa bed, wardrobe and dinette. The kitchenette part included plates, glasses, cutlery, etc as well as a microwave and mini fridge. Their were two balcony doors, one each in living and bed rooms, overlooking the courtyard and pool. Very easy walk to Bourbon St, less than w blocks. Please note, not a quiet spot, there was also a 24 hour bar less than a half block away. read more

What a great unique hidden gem - just a 2 minute walk from heart of bourbon street. Boutique / unique. If you need a traditional hotel vibe - it's not for you - I'm guessing any negative reviews are from folks expecting that...if you say love unique hidden gems / boutique / Airbnb's it'll be the perfect place for you in New Orleans. Pool is beautiful, free coffee in the morning. Even though front desk is not open 24 hours - we arrived around 11pm and it worked out great. Clear instructions - seamless - worked great. It's like a timeshare that rents out its remaining rooms - hotel ish style. If you've ever stayed at an Airbnb and are comfy with that - you'll find this the perfect boutique experience steps from ritz Carlton and rest of bourbon street Hard to justify staying anywhere else around here - after trying it - great experience. This place is a real experience of the French Quarter. It is a Creole Townhouse that has been converted to a hotel. It is only a couple blocks from Bourbon Street. The staff is friendly and great to ask for recommendations in the area. The furniture is a bit old. I'm not sure of that is to keep with the antique appeal but it is a bit uncomfortable. read more

We decided to stay here on short notice to use some air miles. It is Mardi Gras month and wanted to get here before the real craziness occurs. Found this awesome place on Airbnb. Saw some negative reviews but disregarded because of the location and fair price. Paul manager went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and even upgraded us. I would recommend to anyone for convenience and location. And for historical significance. Built in 1863. Will definitely recommend and come again. Even borrowed an umbrella for the day it rained. This hotel is not as it first appear. The manager Paul is really unprofessional, unfriendly and rude. I booked a stay there for a week and, on the last few days I was booked in the room Paul sent in his maintenance person to paint the room while I was not in the room. Paul did not have the professionalism to make me aware he was sending someone to the room while I was out. When I came in after working a long day, to an unexpected surprise, I found my room in such a disarray. This person left the paint ladder, cloth(s), paint brushes, and opened paint cans and the paint all over the room and what I thought was my personal space. I paid full rate for this room and when I brought this to the manager's attention, Paul states: so what! The next morning a maintenance person opened by room door about 7:00 am, he didn't knock, he just took his key and attempted to enter the room without announcing himself, with the door opened to the extent of the door chain, he goes oh, oh..., there is a ladder, paint all over the floor then, asked, did you have to stay in this mess? Absolutely loved our stay! Paul and Susie were wonderful. We asked for recommendations about tours we were interested in. They have a deep knowledge about the city they live in, and will lead you to the right places. ( Paul, we loved VIP tours, worth every cent) The room we stayed in was beautiful! The bed was more comfortable then my own. The staff was very attentive. I also enjoyed your beautiful courtyard, laundry, and Bloody Mary bar on the weekend. I have to start by saying location location location folks; It was next to all the good spots so we were able to walk everywhere. The inside is really interesting it kind of has an older hotel feel while staying modern. The bed was really comfortable which is a bonus when lodging. I also really enjoyed the courtyard which has a pool, and the room had a door with access straight out to it. Everything was clean and friendly... needless to say I will definitely be doing my future stays with them! read more

If I could give this place a negative 5 stars I would. This place is HORRIBLE. We arrived at 11pm and at 2am we were walking to a different hotel. The place is cute and in a great spot, unfortunately the place is not cleaned or maintained. The front desk is empty and no one can help you from like 6pm until the am. We booked the apartment suite with the spiral stairs a total of 3 days. We paid well over $1000 and the place was just nasty. The bed sheets dirty. the bathroom dirty, dirty towels, dirty peoples clothes, dirty kitchen, dirty couch ...just DIRTY!!! No way we could even sleep there and no one around to talk to. read more

Do not book here if your travel plans may change. The owners are dismissive and inflexible. I asked for a refund for my stay 30 days out from when I would be traveling there and was very rudely told no. I even told them that when I would rebook my stay that I would be sure to stay with them and give them great reviews. Each response was a three words or less. There are a number of places within New Orleans that have great customer service and are willing to work with you. Find another place to stay in the Big Easy. read more

I checked in the day before the Hard Rock hotel collapse and Paul took great care of me. He is a true gentleman and made me feel safe. He would give me daily updates as to what was going on with road closures and if we would be evacuated. Paul would assure me "Go out, see the city and have a great time, I'll call you if anything happens " I did. The Chateau is walking distance to everything great in the French quarter. I had a excellent stay, even though the city suffered this tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go out to the people that lost their lives. My thanks to Paul and the staff. I called for simple hotel, airport and area information and spoke with a young lady at 504-524-8410 and her response was "girl you have a phone google it" are you serious. I called back the next day hoping to speak to a Manager and at this same number I spoke to a Paul Collins who I guess trained that young lady on how to treat their customers. OMG!!! he to was was rude he brushed me off as I was expressing my experience and responded with anyway what can I help you with. We must have been in a renovated room, it was clean and the maid came every day. You do have to remember the building is over 200 years old, which you are staying in a part of history. The courtyard was beautiful, we sat on the balcony and enjoyed it a few nights. It's within walking distance of so much, that part was great. We used the fridge and the ac worked great in the room. There was only one washer and dryer, but never had to wait. The staff when they were there were very helpful and informative. Now, what we did not like is the fact the elevator broke and for three days no one fixed it. We are capable of walking up and down stairs, but saw a woman with a cane who would struggle with that. Spend the money and fix the elevator, also the ac in the stairway was broke. Wish we would have had a cool stairway to go up and down as many times as we walked it. read more

I liked this place, bottom line, it needs some things fixed, mainly it's wireless internet range, the roaches, and the "whirlpool/Jacuzzi tubs" it boasted to have but didn't work, but overall, it was a good place. It's hard to find, making it a nice place. The front is not obviously a "hotel" or anything, it's very subtle. There is a code to get into the place, which means the doors are not a problem to get through at 4 or 5 in the morning, or get out of at that time either (depending on your flight or plans for the day). The staff is courteous and helpful. They actually do your dishes, which is a first for me! We were outside across the courtyard, near the pool the first few nights. The sofa bed was as uncomfortable as every sofa bed is expected. It doesn't matter how much you pay for the mattress, you fold it up and it's going to be uncomfortable. Personably, futons (the wooden frame and spring mattress sort) would have been much better. There is wireless internet, oh joy of joys! HOWEVER, it's only available from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor in the main building, and in the mosquito-ridden (every evening) courtyard. If you are in the main building, which we were for the end for our stay, make sure you snag a 1st or 2nd floor as close to the main office side of the building as possible. We were on the 3rd floor, and apparently on the "wrong side of the building" as we had to go to the 1st or 2nd floor to get the wireless internet. (Yes i am currently sitting on carpeted stairs on the 2nd floor as i write this, I'm not a HUGE fan of sweltering in the heat with a computer or getting bitten by bugs). Other than the internet and sofa bed, this place is great. The rating of "Meh. I've experienced better" is completely due to the internet. I'm not a network specialist, but i know ways to make the wireless area larger and make sure no one "steals internet", it's not rocket science. I would recommend this place to someone to stay in the French Quarter of NOLA, but if you expect to do work on the internet while you are here, make sure you get a room near the main office/counter. read more

LOCK YOUR STUFF UP! Biggest complaint!! House keeper stole $100 bill off dresser that had my sisters military ID and other IDs on top of it! Notified front desk she said we should of had it locked in the safe and that they aren't liable. (You're joking right?). Right after the incident I immediately messaged a manager who STILL to this day has yet to respond. This was over 2 weeks ago. Upon arrival our check in was at 3, we were there at 3:15 but our room was not ready until after 5:30pm. It's was trashed when we walked in and we had to sit there and wait for 2 n half hours until someone came to clean it. They had the nerve to complain on us as guests on a booking site saying we let the trash over flow and left boa feathers everywhere and we're not welcome again there, what's funny is they gave us a little bathroom size trash can and not once our entire stay that weekend did the house keeps come in and empty it!!! They came in stole our money & then left. They clearly have a problem with theft there because they have a sign saying that whatever is stolen out of the room they aren't liable for.. the only people who have access to our room outside of us is THEIR house keeping!!! Also our toilet was broken!!! We had to open the top and manual flush it out selves every time!! I even tooke a picture of the toilet handle that was broken and will attach it. Avoid this place honestly y'all. Management is a joke as well as this hotel. read more

I am part of Interval International and have always had the best! Well not this place! 1. Told us to arrive early they would be ready for us, not true. 2. When they gave us keys and said room was ready, not true still being cleaned and the staff left the room without cleaning it. 3. Hair dryer didn't work asked front desk for a new one, the response was go buy one. 4. Staff never cleaned room once. 5. Hotel manager told us room has to stay above 72 or room will freeze out..... not sure how. 6. Pool was filthy could not use. 7. Bathroom was so small you could not close the door without standing in the shower. Horrible stay! read more

Very disappointed in this "resort". We stayed in room 10. I can't believe it's part of Interval International. The place is dirty and cramped. The staff gave us new towels once and then we had to continue to ask. They cleaned the room one time during the week we were there. My iPad and $40 disappeared from the room and the desk staff didn't show much interest, they could hardly be bothered. They told me that nothing like that has ever happened before and I should have had everything locked up. We stayed at the Avenue Plaza three other times and decided to try something new. Boy, do we regret it. See pics of the filth. The furniture was mostly ok but the coffee table was so cheap and unstable a dictionary dropped on it from three feet would have made it collapse. The bathroom is almost unusable, it is so cramped. I honestly don't see how larger people could use it. Stay away from this place. Check in was at 3:00 we arrived early but went out and came back at 4:00 and the room was still being cleaned, although not very well. The door across the hail remained open for two days and it was a mess, I don't know why they didn't clean it. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. read more

Chateau Orleans was in a really good location in the French Quarter. It was about 2 blocks from Bourbon St. The hotel staff was really friendly and helpful when it came to check in and anything else we needed. The outside patio/pool area was really lovely. My only complaint would be that the actual bedrooms and bathrooms do look a bit rundown and some of the photos depict. The dishes in the kitchen were not clean. Overall I feel it could use a little update on the rooms and bathrooms. The room in which we were in had an iron spiral staircase which made it a little difficult going up and down. read more

Unless you just need a place to crash after partying, I would highly encourage you to get a hotel room! I came out for family and had a child, so I wanted a place to comfortably hang out and cool off in the hotel. I hated being here and it was not safe for kids. I'm only giving it two stars because I realize this place would work for a single couple of folks who just need a bed; the location really is great and a few minutes walk to anywhere in the quarter. Here's a breakdown: Pros: - Great location if you're looking to party/see the town. This is probably the best part of the hotel. - Air conditioned! Always a plus in this weather. - We had free wifi the whole time, which was great. Cons: - We were told *twice* by staff before arrival we would get one free parking space since we staying for a week. Upon arrival, we were told to instead pay for a space a block away which was $30/day. This was super inconvenient and unsafe at times. I didn't see any reserved parking at the hotel, so they just lied. - The structure of the room seems to be built by an amateur. The kitchenette area looks hodge-podged together and is crooked. - Everything in room is super outdated and sort of gross... Don't know if it's clean but it sure is uncomfortable. - Large spots of mold on wall that looked painted over (see pic). A lot of things were painted over. - The stairs to the upstairs section was really unsafe. It's basically a really steep metal ladder with carpet. I'm not afraid of heights but I could only go up there to change the temperature. - Toilet/shower room was super tiny; you sort of had to eke your way in. There was poo stains in toilet and taking a shower is like showering in the rain. It's not the water pressure, it's the shower facilities from the 70s. Good luck! read more

I have mixed feelings about Chateau Orleans. On the upside, the staff are friendly and there is a very nice outdoor pool on site, which is unusual for time shares in New Orleans. On the downside, the living quarters are pretty minimal. The furniture and appliances are dated and barely functional, and there is an excessive amount of dust in the room that somehow eludes the (very friendly) housekeeping staff, and I have to crawl in and out of a gigantic whirlpool tub that doesn't work to take a shower. I am being generous and giving it 3 stars only because of the pool, which we most definitely enjoyed during our stay. Apart from the pool, it is two stars at best. read more

This is a wonderful shabby chic condo hotel in the NE end of the Quarter. While the kitchenette was small (microwave, tall dorm fridge, & 2 burners) it was perfect for basics - milk, cereal, croissants, etc. Tje ability to have room (a living room as well as a bedroom and bathroom) was so very nice. And our balcony overlooking the pool was beautiful. Many coffees/breakfasts/evening cocktails took place there. Definitely worth investigating if it's what you/your family needs. The renovation is mostly done and this is an unsung gem of the Quarter. read more

A dirty place that's in a great location close to bourbon street which means all that clientele walk near the hotel. Not a good place for family but more of a college or group party place. Look at the pictures regarding the cleanliness, they say it all. The staff is hit or miss, some very accommodating and others couldn't be bothered. This place is nice except there are something's you should know. It's a timeshare place with some rooms for rent. There is an old couple that lives on the first floor by the pool that hate any type of noise. No one works here except between the hours of 9-5 and sometimes during those hours there is still no one here. My group rented two rooms at the cost of 1300 and we ended up getting into a situation with the old couple (who were drunk) because they thought we hopped the fence. They end up calling the police who refuse to listen to what we are saying because the old lady looks more credible that we do. The bottom line is this lady confused us with someone else and we end up having to deal with her drunken rage. This is our first night.. We have four nights left with these people following us everywhere and taking pictures of us. Don't ever come here because it is a hit or miss. You never know what you will get into and no one who works here will be around to help. read more

2 stars for some effort at customer service. They originally put us on the fourth floor which was a walk up. Imagine having to walk up four floors after spending hours in the NOLA 100 degree temps. To add insult to injury, next to our apt. there was major renovation occurring with very loud sawing, drilling, and hammering . They get the one star for moving us to the third floor for the first night and the second star for moving us the next day to a court yard level place which was quiet and more spacious. It was a major improvement until I woke up at 4am 4 days later to water splashing on my arm. It was raining torrents like it does a lot in nola, and there was a ceiling leak directly above our bed. We informed the management , who said they already knew about it. They did not apologize nor did they suggest or offer an alternative sleeping arrangement. I would NEVER stay there again. I am very disappointed that they are listed with Interval International and will advise them of the above. read more
