Had a lovely time sitting in a pretty blue crescent shaped booth, away from the bar so we could easily hear each other speak. Grabbed brunch here before leaving Philly and was very impressed. It's located just off of the lobby of a hotel, but the inside is very open and ambiance is great. Stopped in on a trip to Philly as my friend enjoys brunch here. I perched at the bar which was beautiful and eye catching when you walk in. They have a nice array of cocktails to choose from and I loved that they were playing 70s/80s music. Chatted up the bartenders who were both sweethearts. My wife was awarded a gift card to any fearless group restaurant she chose. This was the last one on our list. We love all the others. White dog is of course my favorite. Louie Louie came in a close second for me and 3rd for her. Her heart belongs to Rosalie. The food was spectacular. Lots of seafood which really gets my juices flowing. I started off with soup since it was 0 degrees outside. Which was delightful and warm! My wife got bacon wrapped dates. I tried a small one though give my heart attack back in July bacon is the last thing I should consume. It was the smallest date I swear. I got the salmon with a side of charred broccolini? Isn't that what they call fancy broccoli? I love broccoli. When I was young, I called them little trees and I would go to the Ponderosa steakhouse buffet and just blew it up on little trees, cheese and ham cubes covered in French dressing. My wife got the Alaskan halibut. She asked me where halibut comes from. I said there's probably someone in Alaska. They gave us a free dessert because they forgot my wife's second drink, which was really cool. Blood orange sorbet that was delicious. I got the purple mock tail, which reminded me of prince. It had chai coffee and cinnamon, and it was absolutely delicious. We got cappuccino and tea afterwards. My only real qualm with this place and the reason I cannot give it five stars is it was cold. I had brunch at Louie Louis this past Saturday when I was in Philly for the day. It's a French bistro in University City, so it's the perfect location for brunch if you're doing anything on campus. I was heading to the contemporary art museum just around the corner. The restaurant is beautiful - South of France/Mediterranean/retro vibes. The tables are beautiful, the mirrors are beautiful, the color palette is beautiful, etc. I had a glass of sparkling wine and their Tuna Niçoise Salad (seared tuna, haricots verts, egg, potatoes, avocado, roasted tomatoes, dijon dressing). The salad was pretty good - not a classic Niçoise, but pretty delicious. I think the dressing was a little too creamy, and I found it incredibly strange that they put 20+ unpitted olives on the salad since you can't eat an olive with a bite of salad if there's a pit in! There were two pitted olives among the others, so I couldn't decided if the pitted olives were a mistake or if the unpitted ones were. I decided to get a dessert and went with the cheese plate. It was a good cheese plate, but I'd say it's too much for one person - better as a shared dessert. The service was friendly but a little distracted (I had to ask someone who I knew was not my waitress to bring me my check, because my waitress never came back after I asked her if I could have my check); she was lovely - I'm sure she just forgot! Overall, it was a nice brunch, but a little style over substance for me maybe! But if you're in the area, it's definitely a very Instagrammable brunch! And has a delicious menu to boot. For the price they charge, this was a disappointing experience unfortunately. The restaurant had good ambience and very delightful decors. We had high hopes. However, we were not welcomed or served warmly. The whole time we were dining, we were rushed even though there were plenty of tables around. Food lacked thoughtfulness and felt very much a rip off. We ordered a salad and a seafood Louie. The chicken with the salad was dry and the salad lacked flavor with only some crumbs of blue cheese and walnuts. The seafood Louie only had 3 shrimps and 90% cabbages for $35 (Costco sells 25 shrimps for only $20). This might be a place for a little wine and pairing but not quite for a dinner place. read more

Poir service lack of Professionalism. The collar of my shirts and Jackets were as dirty as I thought them. The little guy at the front who refused to give me his name was very rude when I questioned it. I drive all the way from Delaware to Tech Road, Silver spring MD due to my loyalty and I get treated like dirt. I take a lot of clothes there due to the distance and yet my clothes comes back as if not washed. I am NEVER going back there again and my recommendation is stay away from there. read more

The restaurant was fairly empty yet they seated us behind the waiters station so all night I heard the clanking of plates, glassware & utensils. The food - for an app we ordered the brioche bread which was stale. It was so bad & I typically love me bread :) My husband liked his chicken & while I enjoyed the burger, once again the bread on my burger was borderline stale. We had a few drinks which were fine. Our waitress was ok but talked very quiet. Not overly friendly. Made no recommendations, told us no specials (perhaps they don't have specials). For the price of this restaurant plus the 3% add for using credit cards (cannot stand this!) we weren't overly impressed & most likely won't be back. Stopped by Louie Louie for a Saturday midday snack, though I have walked by it many many times. The vibe is upscale, "new American" style French-inspired food. We knew we didn't want to try any of the mains, and so ordered the house-made Brioche Bread and Pomme Frites (french fries, essentially) as a snack. The brioche bread was actually sooo good - definitely a top-20 bread. Soft and flakey, topped with light herbs, and served with a whipped butter, it was the kind of bite that keeps you going back. The fries were not bad, pretty crispy with a good dusting of parmesan. Sitting outside on their patio / sidewalk dining was really nice in the warm spring weather. However, I wouldn't bring anyone to Louie Louie specifically for a meal out because they have limited vegetarian main dish options and because the food is a little boring and predictable overall. read more

Kicked off my staycation with a lovely brunch with my travel friends. First time for me, but many of the girls had dined here previously so I was excited to try for my first time! Sat at the bar while I waited for my group; the bar area is nice if you're rolling solo or if you want to grab drinks. Service wasn't bad, drinks did come out slow but there was a lot of us. For food, I tried the oysters, tuna tartare and vegan burger. The oysters were so good we ordered another round of those! FYI I am a rookie Tuna tartare girlie--Been dippling and dabbing and was excited to give this a try. I'd say the flavors were on point, but I'm not sure I'd order again as it took me a while to warm up to the texture of the tuna--Personal preference but I'd suggest trying it if interested. The vegan burger was a bit messy as the bun was falling apart but it had a really delicious onion jam on it, and I got mines with cooper sharp cheese which completely changed the game--Yummy! If youre looking for IG worthy group selfies, I recommend sitting in the large booths at the end of the restaurant closest to the kitchen. I happen to not be super hungry that day and opted for the savoury & comforting French onion soup (comparable in taste to the one at Parc) and truffle frites (a table fan favorite), which was amazing and filling. The table also ordered the tuna tartare (which was surpringly a large portion compared to other establishments) and a warm, fluffy housemade brioche. The Mussels and ribeye were okay tasting. First off I was beyond thrilled with their regular Lavazza coffee, rich and hot, served with warmed milk which is a rarity. Had the french onion soup which was very good, not overly salty like most. Then came the huge Crab Louie Salad which was filled with jumbo lump crab, way more than expected. Also had the Burrata and tomato salad which came with huge cherries. So good! Brioche rolls and butter were also delicious. Friend had the quiche lorraine which was very custardy. She thought it could have had a bit more kick with a bit more cheese/ham but she enjoyed it. We ended with white cosmo cocktails which had a lovely frozen cranberry rose floating on top. So good! Booth seating was very comfortable and music was great when we could hear it. Would like to return to try the Lobster Benedict and more. In terms of pricing, you get what you pay for. The portions are large (enough for 2 meals) and the food quality is high. Paper-thin sliced beef was neatly arranged on the plate. Didn't taste like raw meat at all, very tender. Cheese board: Destiny explained the kind of cheese on the plate. It had 3 different kinds of cheese with honey, cranberry jelly, and toasted bread. Great pairing of cheese. Omelette with wild mushrooms and cheese: I substituted fries with salad. The black and white floors, the subway tiled walls with faux wear and tear, the gorgeous bar and overall decor is beautifully made to carry the French cafe vibe. With students away on break the vibe is muted, not sure even full, it quite captures the nuance of Parc. The French onion soup recalls its Center City sister and is a rich, decadent crock of onion, cheese and bread. The mussels are a good serving and tasty that are enjoyable but not remarkable. They come with the cliche cone of well salted fries but in order to have a "mop" for the broth you need to order the separate brioche bread offering, and brioche is not the same as a good baguette style. Flat iron sliced steak is the offering on the expected steak frittes. Good. The halibut was a hit and a healthy steak filet came out looking gorgeous. There is a cocktail list that is quite adventurous with lots of flavor profiles. Attached to the Inn at Penn this mid block location is neatly tucked into the heart of UPenn campus. read more
