The shop is located within a neighborhood area in Chatfield and parking might be a little tricky because their lot is usually full of customer vehicles. Indiscriminate and plain jane, this is your typical old school body shop. Nothing fancy, no lounge area, but plenty of skilled mechanics with service talent. I highly recommend the shop because they are trustworthy and do excellent work. I discovered them from another service provider who gave accolades for their body repair skills. While this is not their speciality, after picking up my car, we discovered some issues with factory codes. I can't thank Heath enough for troubleshooting the codes and his service on my car. The estimate was pretty spot on, albeit I did have another issue to address to make the repair complete. Pricing is reasonable for definitely the quality work and detail they do. The owner Steve is pretty knowledgeable with a no nonsense approach so you won't get a sales pitch or upselling. Hopefully no other haphazard occurences to frequent them but it's good to know they are around if ever needed. As they say, a broken car is like a broken heart, it takes time and patience to fix it. And you are no mechanic or body shop so bring it in to the guys at Chatfield Auto. read more

Not only did he give me a bad quote - it should have been $1,200 to get the internal assembly replaced, but he failed to assist me after waiting 5 weeks. I was involved is a fairly serious auto accident. The car was significantly damaged and I feared it was not repairable. I took it to Chatfield Auto Body as my family has been using them for years previous. I met with Steve and he assured me the car could be repaired and repaired well. Steve kept in contact with me during the entire process as well as quoting me a very reasonable price. Covid slowed the parts ordering process down a bit but when I got the car back, I was shocked. Not only did the car look great, it actually looked better then it did before the accident. The new paint, grill and headlights took a decade of its appearance. They even matched the metallic blue and I can't tell the front half of the car was repainted. The attention to detail was absolutely amazing. The best part though is a few small things popped after I took it home. When I called Steve he simply Said "bring it in and we will fix it right up." No games and no BS. I'm extremely happy with the quality of work, contact and standing behind their work. I hope to not have another accident but if I do, I will return to Chatfield Auto Body. read more

My car got hit in a parking lot and the left rear bumper over the tire was damaged as well as the back bumper. I took it in to Chatfield Auto Body on January 8th. Up until present I've been told several times to bring my car in and upon arriving I'm told the parts haven't come in, there's no paint etc., etc. but never receive a call to let me know not to come. I've had to call every time we've rescheduled and there's always some excuse. This has been the most horrible, unprofessional service ever! Great work, Great guys, I trust them and that says a lot in this industry! I had a dent on the back hatch of our 4Runner with a massive scratch and I thought I was screwed. I went to Yelp for answers and reached out to 4 different places. Steve at Chatfield was very responsive, I sent pics here as well as other places. This was the first place I went to for a quote and I felt very comfortable talking to the guys, not intimidating and it didn't sound like they were trying to sell me everything. They talked about PDR, (I had no idea what that was), it's Paint-less Dent Removal. They said "let's try this first, if we don't get it then we'll look at a more invasive way that will involve painting. But I'm pretty sure we can do this the first time." We walked around and looked at some of their work which looked good. (They need to do before and after pics to really show what a great job they do) then came the price.... 1/3 of what I was expecting!! I had do do my due-diligence so I went to other places for a quote and to see when they could get me in. As expected, everyone else was 3 times as much and no-one could get me in that same week. And everyone else wanted to go the more invasive route the first time and paint the whole back hatch. I highly recommend these guys. Steve, Bill and Heath are honest men that know their stuff. They won't over sell you to have you there to one time, they get the work right at an honest price the first time so you will come back. If you have a dent that you don't want to see go here first. I have nothing but absolutely wonderful things to say about this repair shop! I had someone back into me and needed repair on my front bumper. I took it in for an estimate and was quickly given a print off estimate after looking at my car. I was then able to bring it in right before I left on a trip. It was pertinent that the car be finished by the time I got back and it was done early! I arrived back into town on a Sunday and was able to pick it up, even though they were closed. I was so impressed that I was able to drop off and pick up exactly when I needed to and that the work was done on time. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. I recently had my car stolen, an older model, but in really great shape. The thieves absolutely trashed the passenger side door, having sideswiped something and then ripped out the inside panel of the door, destroying the mechanisms for opening/locking the door. I had no experience in auto body businesses but somehow was lucky enough to find Chatfield Auto Body in Littleton. I was speechless when I saw what a magnificent job they had done on restoring my door, both outside and inside. Their costs were most reasonable, and it was apparent from the start that they were all about good customer service, something oft times missing these days. On 9/20/2021 I went to buy a new used 2016 subaru forester. First off, they pictured a red forester but the one they were selling was blue, right then and there I should have ran as fast as I could!! I was told and it was in the paperwork that I get reimbursed for a new windshield. I get home to Sidney which is over 200 miles away, got set up with a fantastic company Pittam auto body, to replace my windshield. When it was completed, I texted Juan a copy of the invoice so I could get paid back. Juan said he'd run it over and get it taken care of, said I should have it in 5 to 7 business days. On the 8th day I called Juan and told him I had not recieved the check. Then Juan said it was in the mail. 5 days later I called Juan again, no check. Then Juan said the person/ people who signs the checks are out on vacation for the week. Right the whole staff is out for the week, yeah I'm a believer-NOT! After more than a week I finally got that they had to wait while they canceled the check to send out another one. After 4 weeks of nonsense I finally got my check. Problem #2, I went to get my plates and found out that either there was a lien on the vehicle and I couldn't get my plates. Oh goody, have to call again. I was told that they are waiting on the bank to release the title because of the lien. I thought is was against a reputable companies policy that they shouldn't sell a vehicle with a lien? Guess I was wrong again! Or the company just isn't a reputable company at all!!! No I had to wait for an extended temp tag, so I could continue to drive my car. In the end I would never ever purchase a vechicle from these yahoo's again!! read more

My faith is restored in the auto repair industry....at least in Bill and Chatfield Auto Body . His service to his customers about whom he truly is concerned is what service used to be like and is soooo rare these days. My SUV was totalled-out in an accident recently by the insurance co, but, albeit old, it worked fine mechanically as I'd taken great care of it. I wanted it fixed. I sure couldn't replace it for what the insurance co. was valuing it at and I couldn't even get if fixed for what the insurance co was willing to give me for it as salvage--- at least not by the 'approved body shop' well known in our area who was quoting top dollar. I also felt treated with condescension by said well-known 'insurance approved' body shop in Lakewood, who gave me the impression my little $3300 repair (little?!!) was an annoyance. I realized it was clearly not a priority for themwhen they told me that while it should take 5-6 days, it might take as long as two weeks for them to get it done!!! (This would then mean I'd have to pay out of pocket for a rental for that long). I was in a pickle, thanks to this larger body shop;s arrogance, high prices and indifference to me needing my only vehicle back as soon as possible. But thanks to an angel in the insurance biz who told me about Chatfield Auto Body , I am now in good stead. Evidently Chatfield had done good work for her before, at a fair price, and would likely get right to it for me. Wow, was she right! On a holiday week-end, when everybody else was closed or working abbreviated hours, Bill of Chatfield understood my predicament and need for my vehicle and got my vehicle towed from the other body shop right away, worked with me on doing only the repairs necessary and took the time to find body parts that would save me money so I that I'd have enough money to get it fixed, and got it all done exactly as he said he would within 5 days. (less than 1/2 the time of the larger body shop). He even waited for me after hours to retrieve my vehicle when the rental co. took their sweet time to dropping me off. I would tell anyone that needs auto body work to go to Chatfield Auto Body and ask for Bill. THERE IS DECENCY in the auto repair industry in Jeffco!!! read more

Do not take your vehicle here for any reason. This place is a joke. The owner, I believe his name was Steve, is an absolute con artist. We took one of our vehicles here after the hail storm this summer and everything seemed to be good he promised us the repairs would get done and we wouldn't have to pay our deductible because the insurance was going to pay x amount toward the repairs. Everything seemed good until we actually took our car there for the repairs. He told us we would have it back in a week. A week later after calling him about 15 times to get a straight answer he hadn't even touched it. So we went and picked it up because we needed it to get back and forth to work. He called us the next day and said he needed the vehicle back again that night so we drove it back over there, where he had it for 2 more weeks. We had agreed on what work was going to be done and the final costs before he even started but when we went to pick it up he lied right to our faces. He took our car to a 3rd party repair shop (so they don't even fix anything there) and handed us a bill after he had already taken all the money from our insurance. He said we owed another $1500 on top of the $7000 he had already taken from us from the insurance. This was just for a little hail damage on the hood and front fender repair that they did a terrible bondo and paint job on. I could've done better with a rattle can. We were upset that we owed that much so he said "well what do you wanna pay?" Like it was negotiable. After a very awkward and unprofessional negotiation We ended up paying $1000 out of pocket on top of every penny from our insurance. Our car looks like a 3 year old did the repairs with a hammer and there is more damage on it now then before we dropped it off. I could go on and on about how much of a joke this place is. Most unprofessional and lying person I've dealt with. I work around the area and I will tell every person I know to avoid this place.
