Luckily, it is the same distance to High Point as it is to Greensboro. But there's a bunch more traffic in High Point tho. When you pull up, there's plenty of parking. Handicapped parking is right in front of the building. There's plenty of them available. There is no valet parking. I arrived early enough to park and grab the wheel chair. Everything is located in this one building. It is 3 levels. The Emergency Room is located to the left of the elevators past the pharmacy. There's no cafeteria. However there's fully stocked vending machines as well as a coffee machine. The hot drinks are $1. Who can beat that. We went to the 3rd floor to check Mommy in. It was super quick and they took us directly to the back. The advantage to being a smaller facility. Here we meet John. The most friendliest and funny RN/Med Tech. He made mom feel comfortable because this is a new facility. Older generation don't like change. John was cool. Down to earth. John turned us over to Tedora and she became our nurse for the duration of the day. Tedora is calm, caring and patient. Overall, we had a very smooth therapy session.

If it's an emergency and you have no where else to go, then by all means go. However there wasn't…read moremuch here that I could recommend. The nurses were nice. The staff is a different story. Brother had surgery here and no one knew what the other was doing and was little help with thinking through recovery. The security guards who do the "information" know nothing about the hospital! One guard was on her phone and wasn't helpful at all. One of the entrances closes at 5 pm and the sign says to go through the emergency room entrance. When I did, I had another guard tell me that it's the front entrance and the sign needs to be updated! As a primary caregiver, I felt ill-prepared to take care of my brother. Not many of my questions were answered! I left with more than I brought. Don't get me started on the food! I got better food from my elementary cafeteria. No one should have to eat like that! Get your stuff together!

Many patients came after us and they were taken in. Front desk ould not give us any update when our turn would be. When pushed, they took BP once in three and half hour - for a patient who came to WakeMed ED for high BP!! Very dissatisfied.

Our 31 year old son was rushed here by ambulance in a 5 hour ride to UNC hospital Neuroscience for…read morea 5.4 cm Brain Tumor over a week ago. It took a day to get him stable by then it was Thursday a week before Thanksgiving. The main surgeon said the surgery would take 8 hours and he was on the way to another country for holidays. He left a resident Nadeem (?) in charge and he has obviscated the facts, he is arrogant and even according to staff, he is incapable of accepting anyone else's view of the situation. Meanwhile our son lays in bed in pain with a tumor resting on 3 main arteries and his spine. He has decided our son isn't in enough pain to need IV because he wants to send him home until they can schedule surgery which only God knows when that will be, since it's such a long surgery. He admitted they don't know if it's cancer, it could be because it grew so fast but they won't know for sure until and they get inside. In all fairness, the nurses and staff at this hospital are amazing!!!!!! As long as you don't have to deal with Neuro you will find this hospital to be one of the best. But don't ever go to the small Neuro group. So far they are the worst!!! And they haven't even done the surgery yet. Did I mention can't go to another hospital because the resident told Duke that this hospital can do the surgery when they decide to. If our son dies, while they are waiting for the main doctor to return from vacation, we will have no alternative but to sue them for malpractice.

The doctor screwed it up and causes a hernia which was repaired last year in November by a different doctor which screwed that up and didn't take everything out that should've been taken out. I do not recommend this hospital. What so ever their staff is also, sorry as well.
