Great Dive bar. Me and my friend love coming here after work when we just feel like grabbing a quick beer. The bartenders are fun, friendly and know their stuff. This is definitely more of a casual, sit back and relax type of place. High heels with mini dresses here look stupid. Leave that for the club or a fancy bar. The drinks: cheap, strong, and delicious. This is a plus for the very few women that go because you have a vast variety of men who would be more than happy to buy you a drink. The only two reasons why I didnt give it 5 starts is: 1. The place is tiny! when someone goes to the restroom to take a mean ol dump you're going to smell it at the bar. Nasty but true. Unfortunately the drinks are so cheap you'll learn to zone out the smell. Just stand next to some dude with too much cologne. 2. The bar stools are retarded. You cant sit on them for 5 minutes without sliding off. A few of them double as rocking chairs. read more

This is my spot, I have been going to The Chatter box for some time now i say around 4 years..,, and this place keeps on keeps on.. Good for a late night night drink.. Beer .. Mixers. some wine... Its kinda small and gets full fast towards the weekend.. I say most people show up around 930 1000 mark;; as for the regs.. like me a good 8 is what your looking for give you time to see whats walking through the door.. The Chatterbox is dope, plain and simple. It's been around since the 60's so if you're into mid-century cultural appropriation like me, you'll dig it. The drinks are great and exponentially better than most dive bar cocktails and the prices are GREAT! Travis is a true mixologist. His signature drinks are definitely worth your while, and at only $6.00?? GET OUTTA HERE! But the real highlight is the weekly comedy show on Sunday nights! What a treat! Real, big time Hollywood comedians and some up and coming performers too. I'm kind of a comedy snob, so believe me when I say that this is hands down, one of the best shows in LA. Popped in on a Sunday to find it was 'Comedy Night'. The place was packed and I soon found out why. The comedians, all 4 of them, were hilarious. Had us laughing so hard we cried. The bartender, Travis, was on the ball (and kind of cute ;) ) and although the place was slammed we never waited more than a minute or 2 for a drink. Didn't even care about the prices because we were so entertained! If you're looking for something to do on Sunday night, I highly recommend checking this place out!!!!!!! read more

I was there that night Adam R. Assaulted a female customer. He was so belligerent he tried to fight a bartender in the parking lot. This place would do well to report this potential rapist to authorities. i been here a few times....it is usually a hit or miss. i think it is better in the beginning of the month (like the first 2 fri. or sat. of the month). it is a lively young crowd, friendly and cool. well, i came here on a monday night, it was karaoke (every other). i was chillin' outside with my friends when this dude comes askin' for a cigarette we didn't have any but it did stop the dude to keep on askin' for one. he manages to bum one off a patron and then joins in our conversation. after the dude finishes his smoke he says good bye and before we could go back inside the dude comes back w/ a baggy containing a 40 of st. ides. then the dude asks us if he can drink it there.... wtf? we said 'nah, u probably gonna get busted.' he leaves, and we go inside and supported the establishment w/ anutha round. oooh wee, IDK, but i guess it was brunette night.... hmmm ;) as we are fratenizin' w/ the other merry patrons, the dude comes back in. we ask him, 'wha up' and he said he killed his 40. the dude then goes up to karaoke us w/ his rendition of 'killin me softly' by the fugees...i have to say, he did. i went outside for a break and i had a chance to rap w/ the dj. as we are taking a break he tells me a dude asked him inside if he could sing 'mr. brightside' by the killers, of course he said yes. but he noted, 'someone jus' sang that.' i said i know, i was wonderin' why i heard it again while i was talkin to the dj. i go back inside and it was the 'st. ides boy' finishing 'mr. brightside.' overall, it was a good night. read more

Living in Covina, there isn't much "night life"....in comparison to dtLA. Buuut....this was one of my go-to spots upon moving here to Covina about 4 years ago. If you are looking to get cheap drinks, listen to some tunes, sit or stand in a small Area and write your name on the board to play pool on their ONE pool table....then you want to come chill at this DIVE BAR!! So don't expect the "club-like" atmosphere here, it's a cozy-everyone-knows-each-other-kinda-place. For all the girls out there....there is only a single stall bathroom with a very tiny waiting room area....but never have I had to wait in a huge line to use the facilities. Yesterday (a Friday night), we stumbled into a DJ bumping all the old-school 90's hip hop and RnB.... I'm talking about old school JayZ, LLCoolJ, JLO, Mariah Carey...etc, etc. overall a fun night....even tho we didn't get to play pool (like we had originally planned for the night). read more

Finally decided to try a dive bar in Covina and this was the first one me and my boyfriend came up on. I never expected to like this place so much, but they have nothing but amazing prices and amazing bar tenders. Nothing but respect from everyone you come across here. Very fun place to hang out. Drinks are cheap and great. It's a small bar but has a very upbeat and diverse crowd. Make sure you go every last Friday of the month to watch DJ Eli Parameter mix it up on the 1's and 2's, the party starts about 10:00 and doesn't end until 2:00AM. Cheers! read more

If you look up local dive bar in the dictionary this place will most likely be at the top of the list. It is your quintessential dive bar. Dimly lit, cheap drinks, good music. Chances are every person 21-35 who lives or lived in Covina or West Covina has been here once. I don't come here often but when I do I always see someone I know and I always have a good time. read more

Total hipster bar, great drink prices, friendly staff, non smoking(outside of course), comedy shows every other Sunday, check the calendar (no cover charge). Pretty small, only one pool table, very small parking lot. If the bar is packed you might have to park way around the corner. Do not be tempted to park across the street at the little strip mall what ever you do! Park in the street but please respect the neighbors. read more

This bar is way awesome. Sometimes there are some annoying hipsters but the beer is cold and the prices are decent. Johnas was our bartender this time and probably the last three out of five times we were there. I have never been disappointed here. Even when it's slammed they handle it. So glad I found this place a few months back. They have some of the best prices for drinks I've seen in the area, and the bartenders are very cool, and they always seem to remember people, so that's pretty cool. It gets pretty crowded past 9, even on weekdays, so try and get there early if you want a spot at the bar or one of the seats they have in the back. Only real issues I have with the place is that it seems like the jukebox can skip songs if you paid for them, it's happened to me once or twice, but no big deal. Also, they play movies on their TV if there's not a game on or anything, first time I was here, motherfucking RoboCop was playing. It doesn't get any cooler than that! read more

This was my first time going to Chatterbox, the bartender there was very unprofessional I was talking with my friend about sports and he kept giving us dirty looks. We noticed that there was a tv in the corner that was turned off, when we asked him to put a game on. After explaining to us that yes they do in fact carry that channel, and the tv did work. he gave us attitude and said he wasn't going to do it and there would be no argument and then he informed us that we should go to a different bar if we wanted to watch the last game of the season. So we did. Obviously i wont be going back there. But if you like sports. Or being treated like a human being, you could probably skip this place. Or at least figure out when travis the rude bartender is working and at least avoid his shifts. read more

One of my favorite bars in the area! I've been to rude dogs, rendezvous and tres vinos and this place definitely takes the cake. Cheap drinks and an unpretentious crowd in their mid 20s are the highlights of chatterbox. I generally go on week days, sometimes weekends, and even on a holiday and I've always had a decent time. Came on a chill Friday night with friends very spontaneously for their $4 cranberry vodkas and to check out the scene -- it's literally a whole in the wall corner of a parking lot, bluish building. Very dim inside, there's a jukebox playing against the wall, the 9 or so people in the whole place (we went early 9-11pm) lined the bar, and the only pool table there was in the center of the place (and the place is really small) was taken the entire time we were there which sort of sucks. The place could maybe fit one more pool table, max. Other than that not much dance space here. We took the corner with lighting to curl up on the leather seats and catch up with our drinks. Really small lowkey and chill place, not very loud and buzzing, not too poppin (at the time we came ofc) but kind of cozy. And you can't beat $4 cranberry vodkas, which were a solid 50/50 sweetened but can taste the alcohol -enjoyable read more

Cheap drinks, charming bartenders and cozy ambience lend itself to the ideal place to spend a Friday (or Saturday, or Sunday, or... Monday). who doesn't like a good dive? this place is pretty much your typical dive with decently priced drinks and an awesome variety of music. the juke box was playing all the good songs from my high school days by artists such as nelly, jay z and even good songs from pharcyde and genuine. there's only one pool table but it's not like they could really fit another one. there's a cool lounge seating area against the northern wall but because of the size of this place there isn't enough seating. this place was pretty crowded for a wednesday night and seemed to have a good mix of regulars and newbies like me. i will definitely be hitting this place up again =). read more

Talk about not judging a book by it's cover! This is one of the friendliest, casual bars I've ever been in. I've invited friends to meet me here and the all say, "When I walked up this place looked super shady" but they tell me how much they love it here. The drinks are cold, strong and cheap. And were not just talking the PBR on tap, which they do, but that they can make fancy, hip, complicated drinks at a fraction of what you'd get at a place that has "Ché" in the title. The place was decent, i felt like the drinks were a little on the weak side. The place is small and the pool tables make the room be even smaller. The jukebox has a good selection of music but the place has a very distinct smell kind of humid. A lot of the seats were ripped and the place looks like it's been mistaken care off.
