We assumed a regular sized dish, but in fact the size was super large and we could have ordered just one to share. Horrible horrible service. We were seated after about waiting for 10 mins and waited for 1 hour 15 mins after that and still didn't get served. Their service was slow anyway but the waitress wasn't honest about the time it would take and every time she was asked,she had the same answer - one min, food will be right out. Tables and orders after ours were getting their food in around 30-40 mins after their order, except us. Finally, when we asked her after 1 hour 15 mins of waiting, she still didn't have an answer. Most of the restaurants had closed by then and we had no choice but to leave, else we would have slept hungry. Avoid this restaurant. Absolutely not worth the slow service. read more

From the outside, Chatthai Bistro looks like a run-of-the-mill Thai restaurant in a strip mall - but looks are deceiving! The food blew me away - my fiancé and I shared the pau pia sode (fresh spring roll) with pork, the panang curry with beef (and a Thai omelette on top), and pad kee mao (drunken pan fried noodle) with crispy pork belly. Lottie, the waitress and front-of-house extraordinaire, had great recommendations for us throughout and took fantastic care of us even as the restaurant got busier throughout the night! We stopped in on a Saturday night after a visit to Death Valley. We ordered the pour over crunchy noodles, chicken satay and glass noodle salad. Food and flavors were good but I did not care for the chef's attitude towards the staff, especially the one waitress working the entire front of the house by herself (waiting tables, picking up the phone, packing orders, making drinks, etc.) You could hear him badger her for accidentally mixing up an order. This made the entire experience fairly uncomfortable. read more

This a real Hidden Gem in this one-horse town that we live in here in Pahrump Nevada! This is by far the best Thai restaurant I've been to in Nevada and one of the best I've been to in several areas I have lived in California. Chat and his wife run it and the food is amazing. They have to go and dine in. If you are not feeling well the have somthing called Sick-Soup, it was one of the only thing things that made me feel human while suffering with Covid-19 for almost three weeks. Jen, our delightful waitress, made sure I selected just the right amount of heat for my gang massaman curry. The curry had just the right ratio of chicken potatoes and peanuts. The broth I could have bathed in. Adding rice made a delicious porridge at the end. My husband tried two of the special appetizers, pork skewers and bbq pork belly. All the food was fabulous. Owners and chefs are from Thailand so you know you are getting the real deal. The decor as pleasant and the owner designed and made much of it. Service was excellent and unobtrusive. Thai restuarants never disappoint me and this was not an exception! The quality of the food is really good. We went as a group of seven people and ordered different items. We all felt the fried rice ones were very tasty. However the pad Thai was not up to our expectation. We also ordered some curry found them of high quality! One small complain can be about their service. But we went very late to the restaurant and they seemed to be in rush to wrap up. Overall, the experience was very good! read more

We were the only ones there and the place was not busy at all. We give this *** Stars for the following reason ~ When you eat at a restaurant that rice is part of the dinner you would hope if you do not get enough they would give you more. Rice is not expensive and what would a small bowl hurt to bring out as a extra. They nickel and dime you for anything extra that you ask for. We both got 2 different curries. You get a small bowl of rice and we asked for more. My husband liked his but I found the curry to be a bit watered down. I like a creamier coconut taste I did not find this here. This is one of those places that I am sure we may have hit at the wrong time, maybe the wrong dish or maybe this is just the way it is. I did read however I am not the only one who don't like being charged for extra stuff. Portions were ok. I think my husband could have ate more. Would we go again? I don't know especially when I absolutely love the other place in town. This place was very nice decorated in side and you can tell the owner put some money into the location. Cute, laidback spot for a relaxed meal. Very reasonably priced ($10 per dish on average) and large portions. Yum woon sen salad was super refreshing and authentic. Gra pao was my personal favorite. I happened by this Thai restaurant while in Pahrump for a weekend. It had been a while since I had good and true Thai food. Thankfully this place delivered. Over the course of my stay I stopped by for at least one meal a day. I ended up trying some curry, Pad Thai and Thai Style Fried rice while there. I'd recommend getting Pork Belly with the fried rice if you haven't tried it before. The only thing that was a little off was the location of the restaurant. It's tucked in between a pizza chain and a tattoo parlor. Don't let the neighboring shops confuse you, this place is great. If you're passing through Pahrump give this place a try. read more

Super yummy Thai food in Pahrump! Great consistency of Panang curry. They do delicate shavings of kafir lime leaves on the Panang curry which really enhanced the taste. We tried the Thai pork kabobs. They were perfectly char grilled with a scrumptious little salad. The pineapple fried rice wasn't the best but wasn't bad either. My kid got the Mama soup. It was delicious and so perfect for him. He loved the tasty warm garlic infused broth with ground pork and thin egg noodles. Perfect on a cold winter evening in Pahrump-Death Valley with just the perfect non-spice comfort food for kids. I definitely recommend this place for everyone who loves Thai food. It won't disappoint. I'm taking a star off for the delayed service as they had just a single server, though don't let that stop you from trying this place! read more

First impression is it's wierd to us that none of the curries come with rice -- jasmine rice is $1.95 extra on top of 9.95 for the curry. We eat a lot of Thai food in Dallas and rice always comes with the curry. Still -- after a long day in Death Valley we aren't going to argue. We are tired and hungry and ready for a proper meal :) Red curry at level 5 was delicious, especially when paired with a Thai omelet. Nice sustained heat not so overwhelming to overpower the flavor of the red curry and coconut. I was lazy and stirred the rice into the curry then ladled it into my bowl and added a few pieces of omelet as I went. YUM Pad Thai at level 0 was also very good and comes with chicken, pork, shrimp, or tofu. Noodles were well sauced with tamarind paste and disappeared quickly. Pad Woon Sen with chicken at level 2 was similarly delicious and dispatched quickly. Over all a lovely meal, much better than we expected in Pahrump. Best Thai food I've ever had. Yum yum yum yum yum. My mother took me here two weeks ago when I was surprised her for her birthday lunch. I had driven in from Los Angeles. I couldn't wait for today! I'm back in town, this time with my husband, so he could try it. Ok, we're supposed to be here for Mother's Day. But really--so he could try it. The lunch special is a fabulous deal. The food is all cooked fresh, and the owner/chef is happy to spend time explaining the authenticity of his recipes versus how Thai food is usually prepared in the States. I actually learned a lot! He and his wife give excellent table service, and the atmosphere is light, modest, and both lively and peaceful. The presentation of the food is photography-perfect. It's one of those places where every dish carried past my table has me planning what I would order next time I'm in town. Perfect balance. read more

I would give more stars because the food is excellent. We decided to come on a Saturday afternoon. There was only one wait staff, as she was sitting people, taking orders, making drinks (bar tending) taking payments and serving the food. I have to say she was doing it with grace and still providing the best customer service she possibly could. This is to Chattjai.....I hope you show appreciation for this employee, for she deserves appreciation for upholding the best attitude and demeanor dealing with all she had to deal with. Again, the food is great and the service was on point because of this young lady. I believe if it was not for her great attitude, so many people in the restaurant would have been so very upset. Oh..and side note....only two cooks in the kitchen as they were also visibly very stressed. This restaurant seems like it's known and popular, but more care should be taken to help the employees. Visiting from Vegas, my boyfriend and I stopped in. We made reservations an hour ahead. We got to the restaurant and were quickly greeted and sat by Lottie, an absolutely lovely waitress. Started with drinks and the "Chat Kai Mojito" was delicious. The lemongrass stalk is a wonderful garnish. We ordered the fried mushrooms as an appetizer, they were wonderful, lightly fried and greatly seasoned. The dipping sauce had great heat without being overpowering. I ordered the yellow curry and my boyfriend ordered the Sake shrimp and glass noodles. The food was truly amazing, especially for being in the middle of Pahrump. Came up to Pahrump, Nevada from California to visit with family. While hanging out at my nephews meadery, Stonewise, (A must-try watering hole) we heard that this place (which is right next door) is really good. Well after eating here, I must tell you that it wasn't good...IT WAS AMAZING! By far, the best Thia food I have ever had. The curry is delicious!
