Came back after a bad customer service experience about a year before and wasn't disappointed that nothing changed. 1st off we sat down and it took almost 15 minutes to get an order in. Then, we were asked to move to another table (yes move tables) after we already received our appetizer. So a group coming in didn't have to wait 5 extra minutes to clear another table. I've never ever ever been asked to move tables in any restaurant after I started eating!!! I was so shocked I actually complied with the request!! Mind blown!! The worst part about the the whole thing was that the people we moved for got their food before we did. Wait wait wait, just the beginning. My wife ordered the gai pad gra pao lunch special we asked if we could sub tofu instead of chicken on her meal. The waitress said yes then 15 minutes later the waitress said there was no substitutions allowed. Okay, well we said to just leave the chicken out. When the meal arrived, guess what, chicken was in the meal. Btw now we are 1hour and 20 minutes in to our lunch and just got our food. We told the waitress about the chicken and she took the meal back and then the onslaught started. The chef began to scream and yell from behind the kitchen glass. He yelled that he doesn't f$&@ing work for free, at the waitress. Mind you this is a $9.00 lunch special. Not that serious. Good news is that the food was pretty good, not sure if it was because I was super hungry or not but service was terrible. Terrible service from the top down. Bummer, could be a great place!! So impressed by this adorable Thai place! The vibe felt super genuine and down to earth. Wonderful service, waitress was so nice, friendly, and attentive. Food was so good, pretty salty but in a tasty way, especially after a long day hiking in Death Valley. We got the panang curry and the spicy ginger stir fry. I also had the lychee martini and it was great, even the glass was chilled which was a great touch. Portions were wonderful, not too little and not TOO much which can be off-putting as well. I went here because I was told they have vegan and vegetarian options. They do, but they only had 2 dishes I could choose from and they both had tofu. The dishes were cooked well though and tasted good. We had 2 appetizers, 3 main dishes, and a kids meal. They charged us for an extra bowl of rice that we didn't receive. Our bill ended up being $85. We didn't realize how expensive it was before we went in. Overall I'll probably go back again, but it wasn't out of this world like I was hoping. read more

We stumbled upon this place while we were rolling through town and now I will definitely come back to Pahrump just to go to Chat Thai again and again! Every bite was fantastic! The spring rolls had the brightest flavorful greens and were so fresh. We tried the special which was a sweet chili catfish served over garlic rice with crispy fried basil... It was absolutely amazing!! The pad prig king or something like that lol was superb! We got it with pork belly which was cooked nice and crispy and the spice to coconut milk was perfect. This place is ripoff over priced for very small portions. When we first went in we asked if they portions where of typical tie food where family's share the waiters said "o yes they are definitely" sharable so we only orders one Maine cores thinking it would be plenty for two adults and one child. That was a joke we spent 40$ for one Maine (padtie) and 3 drinks. The size that they called shareable was the size of a sample about 0.2 oz of food. Don't recommend this to anyone unless u want pay for over glorified samples. Not to mention when the owner asked what we thought of the food and I told him the truth. that the food didn't taste anything like traditional tie food the owner became very rude and was not even willing to listen for a suggestion. This is by far the absolutely best Thai restaurant I have ever been too! We travel throughout Canada and the US and are usually more disappointed by Thai restaurants because it has become such a "fad" cuisine and now everyone is doing it...BUT most of those guys are using cans, pastes, frozen vegetables...etc. Chatthai did not disappoint as it had one of the most incredible menus I have ever seen and EVERYTHING was fresh!!!!! Flavours were explosive and prices were more than fair. It was so amazing we had 2 extra dishes prepared to go since we would be on the road the next day. With 6 dishes, 4 sides our bill only came to around 70.00...I wish we lived close by because I have seriously been spoilt and now any Thai restaurant I visit will pale in comparison! We ordered 5 dishes, 2 drunken noodle and two Thai fried rice and one soup, over the phone. When we went to pick up 40 mins later, it seems that they forgot the order. We have to come back 20 mins later to get the food. This time, we were able to get the food, but the quality is bad. We ordered one noodle mild spicy, but it was very spicy ( I can usually take very spicy food). Both fried rices are too salty. On top of them, very little meat for the noodle and rice. Looks like they are rushed with the order and they are closing and run out of meat. The only good thing is the soup, which takes better. read more

After spending a dusty weekend in Death Valley, my husband and I resurfaced in Pahrump in search of a hot meal. We come from Thai Town in LA, so we're a little particular about good Thai food and didn't know what we'd find in rural NV. Chatthai was a pleasant surprise! The menu includes some really delicious authentic dishes as well as popular favorites. We both enjoyed generous portions of high-quality food. Service was okay - I think it may have been our waitress's first time serving the night we came, but the manager came out to check on us and was present throughout the evening. My only question would be that we weren't asked how spicy we'd like our dishes (i.e. curry), and they didn't have too much heat. Either way, we'll be looking out for Chatthai if we're ever in the area again. Pro Tip: get the Tom Jued soup - it can be an appetizer for two or an entree for one. They have the best version I've ever tasted and I can't get it out of my head. read more

We have been going to this amazing restaraunt since they opened. They have daily specials, but would strongly urge one to explore their speciality dishes and or specials. We are always greeted and welcomed. All the dishes are prepared fresh to order and have amazing flavors. They will accomadate your spice level when preparing your meal. I don't know if it was a bad day for them or what but the hospitality and treatment over phone and in person was the worst I've seen in CA and NV. The lady over the phone told us they were busy and are not taking to-go orders but if we walk in it's a 40min wait. We reached there in 10 min and the wait time went to 1hr, even though the restaurant was closing in 50min (not sure how that makes sense). what a pleasant pleasant surprise on our visit to death valley! my family was a little worried about where we were gonna eat when visiting the national park, but wow this food was absolutely delicious. for full transparency, we waited a while to be seated and to get our food, but very VERY understandably so because there were only two folks cooking and two waitresses serving a bunch of tables, answering the phone, filling to go orders, etc. i found the wait perfectly reasonable, especially with how high quality the food was! i got a lao papaya salad and it was perfectly funky/fishy and the salty/sweet/spicy/sour notes were balanced to perfection. i think if anything, it could have been a little spicier, but i was sopping up the sauce with sticky rice until the end of the meal :) my dad's tom yum noodle was also fantastic, the broth was beautifully rich with pork flavor, but cut well with the refreshing lime and herbs. after being in the cold park all day, it was the perfect end :) but i think my favorite dish of the night was my mom's poh tak, which was a seafood soup with squid, catfish, and shrimp and a bunch of herbs. the flavor was sooooo comforting and very herb forward. the most soothing broth ive had in a while! you can definitely tell this is a family run place and i really really appreciate how they've gone out of their way to continue to deliver on quality and flavor despite being so so busy. wishing this place all the best and if anyone ever heads to the park, make sure to put chatthai at the top of your list! read more

The quality of food is on par with what you expect in bigger cities so this was a real surprise! This was a real oasis in the desert - an authentic Thai restaurant. We had the panang curry and shimp sake noodle dish and a Thai iced tea. Great flavors and fresh ingredients. You could taste the shrimp in the sauce and pineapple was even fresh and not canned. The panang curry had a good depth and was not overly creamy. Thai iced tea was sweet and a wonderful contrast to the spiciness of the curry. I really Love this place! I was surprised to find delicious Thai food in Pahrump! This is a family owned business and they seem like very nice, honest people who own and run the place. They are very friendly and courteous and so are the staff they employ. We enjoy the food so much that I actually consider it comfort food. You can tell the food is made with Love & care and it honestly makes me feel good when I eat it. It's beautiful, really. They also have an amazing Lychee martini that I really enjoy. It is called the Emperor's martini I believe, and it is a must try! It is so delicious I could drink way too many of them. This is one of my favorite places to eat at whenever I am in Pahrump! If you live, work, or visit there you owe it to yourself to try it as it is amazing. The only thing I have tried there that I didn't like ironically, was the Pad Thai. To me, the Pad Thai is normally very indicative of how good the rest of the food on the menu will be. Not in this case. I had to throw that rule out the window here because everything else is mouth-wateringly delicious! The peanut sauce is absolutely addictive! So don't skip the chicken satay! I'm giving 4 stars for the fact that I didn't like the Pad Thai which is one of my favorite dishes normally. But I really wish I could give them 4 & 1/2 stars.
