Had a crazy craving (preggo craving) for Chinese and was pleasantly surprised by Chau's! I had the dinner special which was 9.75$ for orange chicken with rice and a spring roll. The Orange chicken was flavorful and the quality of the chicken was very good. Fair price for amount and quality of food. Husband got the house chowfun and he was very satisfied with his dish. We also got our food in ~5 minutes. A little shady but I'll take it! The staff were all very nice and helpful and there was a constant flow of customers (take out) which is always a good sign. I don't get the hype about this place. Fried rice had zero flavor, spring roll tasted like it was frozen. The crab rangoon was extremely hard on the outside and the inside tasted so fishy, not good at all. The general tso chicken was pretty bland as well. This is one of the best chinese restaurant that i have been to recently. The cgef is quite knowledgeable about his menu and will good suggestions based on your likes and dislikes. We had the Hunan Pork (3.8/5), Chicken KungPao (4/5), Chicken Druken noodles (4.8/5) and chicken schezwan rce (3/5). There vegetable spring rolls are also pretty good and Price wise all the items are reasonable enough. Definitely need to try the lunch special which is quite cheap at around 7.5$. read more

Our favorite for chinese take out hands down. We recently moved from DC to Potomac Falls and have been missing our beloved Chinatown Express and Szechuan Pavilion. Chau's has mitigated our suffering! We have tried the chicken lo mein, general tso's chicken, wonton soup, szechuan chicken, spring rolls, crab rangoon, dumplings, pork chow foon, fried rice, and singapore mein foon. Our favorites include the chicken lo mein (it doesn't have the thick homemade noodles of Chinatown express but the portion is big and has a great ratio of meat, noodles, and veg with good flavor), wonton soup (rich, brown pork broth like I had growing up in San Francisco - not the yellow you often see on the east coast), and the fried rice. Everything else has been great too. I probably pass by at least 10 other places to get takeout from here (10-15 minute drive from my house) but its worth the trip. read more

Great for Chinese food delivery. Order on a Monday during the dinner hour and received the food within 30 minutes! MaPo Tofu with pork was perfectly spicy, pork fried rice was tasty and not greasy. We also ordered boba tea which I asked for no added sugar to one, it was so sweet I had to throw it way. I wrote a nice review of Chau's a couple years ago. My, how things have changed. The wonton soup was cooked to death and the wontons turned to mush. The roast pork that went into the lo mein seems more boiled than roasted. Also quite greasy. I guess the kitchen has changed staff and not for the better. We will look for another restaurant. We just moved to One Loudoun recently and I really wanted to like Chau's because it is so close and I like to support local businesses. However, I was pretty disappointed in my meal. I ordered Moo Shu pork with brown rice and no pancakes. The order came without plum sauce which is integral to moo shu pork in my opinion. My brown rice container was only about 2/3 full and very loosely packed so not nearly enough rice. The actual food was swimming in oil and was oddly flavorless. Really pretty disappointing. My son's shrimp rice was tasteless also. My daughter's beef with broccoli was fine but also swimming in oil. Not worth the calories. read more

Won't order from here again. We ordered jumbo shrimp expecting tempura batter. More like cornmeal and nothing jumbo about the shrimp. Yuck. We also ordered the crispy beef which was the opposite of crispy. It was soggy and seemed to be undercooked as the coating basically melted off when in your mouth. Nasty. Beef fried rice with no onions turned out to be fried rice with beef. No egg, no peas, carrots, nothing. Completely tasteless. Don't bother with the hard to screw up sweet and sour chicken. They water down the sweet and sour sauce so much that it barely tastes like anything and doesn't stick to the chicken. Very much like if you were to just pour water over it. I came here last week. The staff was friendly, and the decor was surprisingly nice. The food, on the other hand was not how we expected or experienced before. We had an order of combination fried rice, which was not fried at all. It was steamed rice with boiled meats and veggies. We also had some GTC, the chicken and rice were great, but the sauce was very thick with not much flavor. This place really only has to offer their Bubble Tea drinks. Ordered online from Chau's through Yelp. Order took about 45 minutes to arrive. The food smelled like fabric softener and affected the taste. The rice wasn't fully cooked, the crab ragoons were sweet, and the sesame chicken had inedible hard bits. Not to mention, the receipt had "out of range" written on it multiple times and "9.8 miles" circled in Sharpie in the middle. The driver also verbally advised me I was too far away and wasn't sure how the online system didn't catch it. I have eaten here a handful of times as it is close to my work. Everytime I eat here though I am usually disapointed. Bland food with small portions. Today was the deal breaker though, I ordered the advertised lunch special which was supposed to be $6.25 and 2 egg-rolls which should be roughly 9 dollars tops. My bill was over 11 dollars. New Year's Eve was a nightmare. I gave them a 2 because they are usually a 4 but never 5. Sign said that they were low on help but looking in the kitchen there wasn't room for more cooks. I ordered the "chewy beef" but was told there was no such thing on the menu; funny because that is what I get most of the time. I went for the peppersteak with onion. Somebody didn't stir it completely and I hit 2 HOT spots of spice that dang near killed me. What really hurt after the 35 minute wait was that I had left a tip when I paid. I decided to grab takeout from here while I was in the area for Starbucks. I cannot say the food is my favorite American Chinese food. I've definitely had better elsewhere; maybe it didn't cater to my tastebuds or chef's off-day. But the staff I've encountered while placing and waiting for my order were friendly and patient. There was one older couple who ordered in front of me and didn't seem to speak fluent English and had hard of hearing and the cashier at the front was patient and tried to accommodate them. I ordered a dinner portion of a dish and the size was a lunch portion, it was less than half of what we normally get from another Chinese restaurant in the area. And the price was for the dinner portion. The smoothie was also overpriced for its size, $6, and tea milk tea was $5. The smoothie tasted okay but the milk tea tasted very sour and artificially flavored. I agree with the other customer, it tasted nothing like the real boba at all. The sizes of both are definitely much smaller than the ones we got from the Vietnamese place in Loudoun 1, which tasted a lot better. Both the server and the cashier in Chau's were unfriendly. Hands down the best vegetable fried rice I've had as take out. The quality and freshness was beyond expectations. It's unique because they use fresh chopped zucchini, celery, fresh mushrooms, and carrots. I've had it from other places that add carrots and peas that were canned or frozen and call it a day. We ordered right at 3:00 which is the very end of their lunch special. Soup or soda is included in the combo. We ordered general tso, sesame, and beef & broccoli. It was all delicious. The chicken was lightly breaded and really nice sized chunks of white meat. The won ton soup and miso soup were decent but nothing that was impressive. The three meals were ready for pick up in 15 minutes and came to $35. My friend lives in the area and shopped around for a few years before finding this restaurant. We ordered lunch for today, delivery was timely thru Grubhub , delivery person made it to our apartment door even though new front door system would not open for him. All of our entrees were hot and fresh. The shrimp egg rolls were hot and crispy, soup had good flavor and sauces in the main dishes were more brothy than thick which is a major plus!!
