I was excited to finally come here and try the salon. But my stylist was an hour late and it wasn't a good way to start. I thought she might apologize but I got such a weird vibe as though she just didn't want to do mine or my daughter's hair. I think this place caters to celebrities, I was so disappointed after having been so excited--I drove an hour and twenty minutes to get there just to wait an hour for nothing. This is by the far the worst color job I've ever had. Shawn ruined my hair and turned it orange. On top of things he refused to admit it was orange. My work colleagues asked what happened to my hair because it was orange and when I spoke to Shawn he said it was because I was standing in the sun. So he ruins people's hair permanently then calls them a liar. When I asked him to fix it he said sorry it's not a good match I can't fix it. It's permanently orange and I have to wait for it to grow which will be two years. Trying to bleach it over his orange bleach would cause damage. His toner dried my hair out. I would never suggest anyone use him. read more

I cannot say ENOUGH positive things about this salon. I have been seeing Rigo for three years now, and he's done everything on my hair from cut, color, glossing, and now extrensions. I have always wanted to get extensions put in my hair, because although my hair is healthy from using Wen products, it has always been fine. After having my daughter I noticed that my hair got more fine and I was searching for some added weight to my hair along with fullness and and I wanted it to look natural. Rigo made sure all of those boxes were checked and I have never been so happy. It doesn't look overdone, and my hair is so full and I have that weight to it. It's amazing how much confidence you can get when your hair looks great. His attention to detail is unmatched and he will not let you leave his chair unless you are 100% happy. If you're on the fence about getting extensions, or just don't know where to start, go see Rigo. I promise you you will not regret it. He was able to correct it at our first visit and since then, he does a sensational job every single time as he is incredibly meticulous & and understand my style. Do I recommend anyone to come here? Yes a 1000%!! I've been looking for a new curly hair stylist since mine just moved. I heard about Chaz Dean Studios so I called in and told the sweet receptionist that I have curly hair and she said "Ben all the way! He has curly hair himself!" I then booked it. I'm not that quick with making decisions usually, but glad I did this time. I came in for my appt and was immediately at peace with the environment. The smells of the jasmine wall, all the greenery and the sounds of the water fountains I found my way to Ben's house and met him. He was so warm and welcoming! He took his time to understand what my hair goals are, talk me through what his plan was and off to the haircut! It was my first time having a dry cut but when I say my hair looks so good. It's exactly what I wanted and more. Can't forget the girlie that washed my hair, man that scalp massage was so good. It was so easy speaking to everyone, they really made me feel welcome. This review is for ANNA LEE FIORINO, mega hair babe! I legitimately closely followed her work for a good 2+ years because she does the hair of two of my favorite YouTubers - Claire Marshall and Jen Im. I had virgin hair and had never colored my hair because I know so many people that have damaged their hair from coloring it, but I found out that Anna and the Chaz Dean team don't use bleach, so that made me a lot happier about deciding to go here. Finally, after over 2 years of lusting over Anna's beautiful work, I decided to bite the bullet and book an appointment because I knew I would not be happy unless I went to the mastermind herself! I booked an appointment in June 2015, and unfortunately her earliest availability was not until October 2015 because I could only come in on a Saturday, so if you're in the same boat, you better plan ahead! I decided to get a much needed haircut from her first (I went 3 years without a single haircut - YIKES!), just to see how it would go and also for her to do the consultation and work with my hair before coloring it. My cut looked amazing - and Anna was able to work with my hair and decide what she could do coloring-wise. I then had my first color appointment at the end of Feb 2016. She didn't have enough time in her schedule to do my color + cut in the same appt, so I had my hair cut the following week. She was excited and shocked that I had virgin hair, and I told her I didn't want to screw up my hair by dying it the unhealthy way/with bleach, so I knew it was worth it going to her! Since it was my first time coloring, I had very subtle highlights that naturally lightened as time went on. They also did a remoist. I just went in for my second coloring appointment at the end of May 2016. The process was a bit different than the first time I went, and took longer, but the results are AMAZING! She was able to lighten a lot more and give me both highlights and lowlights. I am SO happy with my hair and I am excited to see what she does in the future! Because I trust her so much, I pretty much let her color my hair however she wanted. She totally understands color and really tries to do whatever will look good based on the person's skin tone, facial features, etc. Overall, I LOVELOVELOVE Anna's work and I am so happy I finally decided to go to her. She is so detail oriented, puts so much and really cares about her work and her clients and I feel so pampered going here. Also, I love her fantastic assistants - CC and Lou for taking such great care of me! You guys are amazing! Pro Tip: Schedule your appointments in the morning, because the salon is less busy and the parking is soooo much better. Good luck trying to find a parking spot if you get here after 12pm! Also if you come early, it's much more quiet and the stylists/assistants can dedicate more attention to you :P read more

I feel bad for the student that is going through their training program....he is at a loss when the staff who call themselves "colorist's" can't even help him get a hair color right. The worst experience I have ever had at a salon.... My hair looks horrific and the management would not fix it because they do not know how. Please, save yourself 7 HOURS in a chair on the first day and 3 hours in a chair the following week....only to end up with terrible hair. What a shame, having to write a review like this. I would love to be able to actually get my hair done by Chaz or one of is stylists. But frankly, it's no where near my budget and I don't know if they have someone that can do African-American hair (they might, but I've never asked). I am glad, however that this salon is the only place where I can buy my WEN products! I love WEN! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I'm a total fan and my hair has become super soft and manageable since I started using the line last summer. Yes, it cost more than you're normal conditioner that you find at Target (about $30 a bottle). But the results and overall health of your hair is worth it. Especially if you do any chemical treatments (color, highlight, perms, relaxers), I swear it makes your treatment last longer so you don't have to get as many. For me, as I"m trying to grow my hair out and make sure it's healthy, the $30 every 2-3 months is worth it. One day, maybe I'll splurge and get my hair done here. Shiri did an AMAZING job! Her cutting techniques are out of this world. I can't tell you how many compliments I've been getting on my hair since I've gotten it cut. I had long hair below my waist and was very hesitant towards getting it cut shorter. But Shiri assured me she could have it cut shorter to get it healthier all while still keeping volume. Very courteous counter staff. I walked from the Magic Castle to the salon (about 1.3 miles) in new sneakers just to buy my friend a bottle of Wen. When I got there I had blisters and they were nice enough to get me a few bandaids. We went through the list of cleansers because I needed a gluten free version. After researching to make sure the info she had was correct she suggested the Bamboo Tea Tree which happens Tea Tree to be one of my favorite scents. I can't wait to give my friend this bottle. This is like an oasis. A truly zen experience to get your hair done. The Chaz Dean compound is just ridiculously cool. It's like 2-3 homes on a block that were converted into salons. Words can't express how happy I am that I found mark and that he is my favorite hairstylist. My story of finding him is when My fiancé set me up with an hair appointment for my bday. Also it was time for me to donate my hair. I was beyond nervous going to a salon, as well as cutting my hair because my hair is thick and my head shape is like a cone head. Every stylist would give me a mullet and couldn't cut my hair correctly. I told Mark that I'm pretty easy going and said to him to "work his magic". Needless to say Mark is an amazing artist and treats every clients hair like his open canvas. He was able to chop off 16" of hair that was donated to the wigs for kids and created a masterpiece on my head. Today's visit 8-12-17 was special because I got my quarterly trim and surprised my fiancé who has been a wen supporter for about 10 years and is a Chaz Dean follower with a hair appointment. I recently got my hair colored (9/27/17) at this salon by Rhonda. I came in with a clear vision on what I desired my hair to look like. I wanted to keep my blonde balayage (it needed toning) and wanted to keep my natural base (dark brown) color. This colorist and her collegue were intensely adamant (about taking my base lighter, even though I was reluctant about their opinion for I knew it would be too warm (red) on my head but I took one for the team anyway! Sure enough, the base color came out very warm and left a visible line about an inch from the root! To add to this dilemma, there was red laced in my blonde balayage. I didn't take notice until the following day in the sunlight. I was very disappointed and I reached out to the colorist to inform her of my concerns. I was also curious why she didn't mention anything the previous day of the color. I tipped her 50% of the services. When I reached out to her the following day, she was very crude and insulting in her response. I expected a professional response (at least) because remember I took very good care of her!:( I, then, reached out to the salon to express these concerns, while still wearing a rainbow head. The receptionist was very apologetic and said my concerns and messages (left two messages) would be forwarded on to upper management but I never received a call back. Poor service, poor attitude, and poor results! This was my first time giving this salon a chance and what a complete disappointment! Save your money and time! P.S. Ben is nice~but didn't receive services from him unfortunately. Professionalism is really key in any business affair. Keeping people happy, you will have repeat clientele. Lesson learned for both myself and the business but also helpful advice (red flag) for those seeking great service and results. read more

I honestly never write Yelp reviews but man, this place is amazing! The atmosphere is so welcoming and peaceful and the staff are amazing. I'm a young adult and walked in not knowing what to expect. Ben helped me and did my hair. He was so so thoughtful and took notice of everything! He really listened to me and took his time to understand what I was trying to achieve and my past experiences at salons. I have had some really really horrible horrible experiences but as soon as I walked and talked to Ben I immediately felt as if my hair was in great hands. Ben noticed things about my hair that I hadn't even mentioned yet and taught me a thing or 2 about my hair. He did not take advantage of the fact that I am a young adult not really sure of what to expect and he gave me the best experience. I had pretty much given up on my hair for about 3 years because it is so so damaged and fried and so horrible I couldn't even put it in a ponytail BUT Ben gave me hope and completely transformed my hair. He made me confident and my curls have come back after 3 years of them being gone!!! As someone who has a deep connection with their hair and been wronged so many times, I am forever grateful for the experience of working with Ben and will continue to go with him! Try him out guys! The 1 week you're referring too is the 1 week it took me to even call and complain. As I told you, I wanted to see if things would settle into their own. As well, I NEVER asked for a refund of the $150 I spent...I asked for the haircut to be corrected by another stylist...and I was perfectly willing to pay the additional fees of $25 for the other stylist. Your lack of professionalism shocks and seriously disappoints me. This place does not need my review. Chaz Dean has a ton of celebrity and my review is one that does not matter either way. I came by this place to see just see it because i am a fan of Jeff Lewis. I was in awe when I was looking around. You would never know from the outside that this gorgeous oasis is part of this beautiful salon. I walked around and fumbled a bit because I could not believe my eyes. There is nothing else like it that i know of in Los Angeles. It is relaxing, beautiful, peaceful, quaint, The place is made of all these different bungalows done to perfection. I don't believe that i saw it all. It is huge but not overstated in an obnoxious way. Being inside made me want to stay. I have been to beautiful spas in Los Angeles but this is so special. I'm a sucker for a beautiful environment, and this salon is absolutely gorgeous. It's a treat just to walk in. I've been twice now to get my roots colored, just a simple one color all over, and Rigo has done a great job both times. The catch is, I have really coily-kinky-curly afro hair, and it's not a given that any stylist will be able to handle it. But everyone here is unfazed. I detangle my hair before the appointment so color application is easier, and then everything goes smoothly even down to the wash and style (usually I just ask them to put leave-in conditioner and then let it air dry). I find the products they use to be gentle and moisturizing on my hair. So I can't speak to haircuts or any sort of complex styling yet, but I'll update my review if that ever happens. For now, I'm a very happy customer. read more
