I LOVE Cheba Hut, but of all my times going I haven't gotten as good of service a did tonight at this location. I am visiting from out of state and met with my friend as this is my #1 place to eat when visiting. I sat at the bar and Bronte immediately asked me what she could help with. Our drinks were perfectly crafted. She and another off-the-clock employee gave us super awesome "secret menu" suggestions such as getting the jalapeño cream cheese with the pretzels and on the Pakalolo (aka the best sandwich on the menu). Ummm..Yum! I've never been here and I love sandwiches! We shared the kali mist and it was awesome! The blunt sandwiches are huge! I can't say that I made this order, but my aunt had the app and seemed to make the order pretty easily, which is efficient. The sandwich itself was really good. The flavor combos were great and I really appreciate a sandwich joint that isn't afraid to put jalapenos on signature sandwiches. The bread is quite tasty too - it has a nice texture and it isn't too chewy or crunchy when toasted. Yuuuum..... Probably about the highest end sandwich you could get in a fast casual restaurant in Loveland, maybe even Northern Colorado. Awesome ingredients, heaped quite generously. Awesome Munchies (or Appetizers whatever ya wanna call 'em) at a price point that while premium to most other sandwich places, is definitely well worth it. Very friendly people too. Wish I could have tried it so I could review the food. They closed at 12 last night, and my boyfriend went in to get us food at 11:43. Just two small simple sandwiches. The girl at the register then told him they stop taking orders at 11:45 so they can prep for close. He told her it was 11:43. She still would not take his order. Why a sandwich establishment needs to prepare for close 20 minutes before is beyond me. I used to work at a Subway and we closed at 9, as in, we took our last order at 9. Was it fun when that happened? No. But 17 minutes before close isn't anything crazy. The Toasted Subs are to die for. They're great, filling and even moderately healthy. The place has the usual dopey vibe. But its clean and fresh. The staff are very enthusiastic and friendly. 10/22/22 Update: I received a response from Cheba Hut here on Yelp following my initial review below. Per the response received... and given the offer from Cheba Hut to make it right... I sent the following email. No response was received in the last 27 days. I guess the lack of motivation, poor customer service, and absence of accountability start at the top for this company. For that reason I've updated my rating to 1 star. You've earned it! Sent to Cheba Hut by email on 9/27/22: Good Afternoon, Just sending this email per the comment left in response to my Yelp review. Up front I want to say that I hated to leave my review because we really like the sandwiches you guys make... but the negative review was thoroughly earned. The service was not only horribly slow but the staff ignored us when we went in to check on our order after waiting 30 minutes. I mean literally would not even make eye contact. Then when we received our food after 45 minutes of waiting we gave feedback to the staff about our experience and they felt it was more appropriate to defend how busy they were and how understaffed they were and how they had a catering order that slowed them down. Cry me a River why don't you?! Excuses don't provide consolation when you have to wait 45 minutes for what should be a relatively quick experience to eat a sandwich and bag of chips. We saw multiple online orders come in and pick up food while we sat at a table in the shop waiting to eat. If the location is understaffed and overworked then maybe they shouldn't take online orders or catering orders. We provided this feedback to one of the staff and she said the online ordering system was turned off because of the short staffing (it obviously wasn't based on the online pickup traffic). This isn't the first time we've had a lengthy wait to get a sandwich at this location. A review about the slow service at this location has been a long time coming. We really do enjoy the sandwiches you guys make. They are down right delicious! But we refuse to wait 45 for a sandwich (especially when the store had just opened for the day). I could have ordered a steak at a fine dining restaurant in the same time. And trust us when we say we were not the only very frustrated patrons. There were tables of frustrated customers stacked up waiting both inside and out. We encourage you guys to make some changes so customers can be satisfied with their experience and not just the food. Whether it's hiring new staff, more staff, stopping online ordering, fulfilling catering from another location, etc something needs to change at this location. The music was so loud we had to leave. I understand this establishment is targeted towards the younger crowd, yet it was as loud as a bar during dinner time. I was ok with the type of music but I and my family had to yell just to communicate to each other. My order was incorrect as the cashier probably didn't hear me due to the loud music. My sandwich was very good, however I asked for the small sandwich and got a medium. I also asked for ranch dressing on my salad and didn't get any dressing. I've always been a fan of the Hut and now that there's a location near me we are regulars! The food is wonderful! Consistent, tasty, and good vegetarian options with a bar. The best thing about this place is the great service, the staff is so laid-back, kind, and appreciative which is wonderful especially in a counter-service type establishment. Every time I've been they mess my order up!! Today I didn't even get the correct sandwich (ordered a La Canna and got a white widow?? Very different sandwiches). In the past, I've asked for it half time toasted and got half my sandwich toasted, why would you toast half?? When you have someone bring you lunch to work and time is limited it would be nice to have the order that you want and ordered. I don't ask for much, typically add pickles and half time toast.
