I've always liked cheba hut but unfortunately this time around they kinda failed to deliver. I called to order so I could pick up, and realized when I got home that 2/3 of the sandwiches are messed up. I called the store twice once I realized but they didn't pick up the first time, then they picked up the second time and hung up. But unfortunately this kinda just made me feel like I wish I didn't spend my money here and went somewhere else. Normally go to this location since it's close to my work. Their app ordering is usually off though probably because of how busy they can get. I was let down today though, not sure if theres a hot sauce shortage but I went to the Mesa location two days ago and got a Jamaican Red and it had no hot sauce. So today at lunch a coworker was going and asked if i wanted anything so I asked for a pinner jamaican red since last time it didn't hit as well since it had no hot sauce... well not only did they charge my coworker for a blunt when both of ours were pinners, but they added no hot sauce on my sub again... it had plain grilled chicken. the fact it happened twice within 2 days at 2 different location, if there isn't any hot sauce i would rather they let us know before making it so maybe we can change our item? it was so tasteless. read more

I've been going to Cheba Hut quite often for several years. They recently added a policy at the bar where they have to scan your drivers license in order to sit at the bar. I'm 67 years old and I believe the employees can take a quick look at me to ensure I'm over 21 years old. I won't go back because of this lame policy. read more

So I wait and wait and wait for another 20 minutes so this is over an hour I am waiting for a sandwich. While I watch other people order and check out. This is my all time go-to for sandwiches. Shocked I haven't reviewed them- til now. Sooo it is 1000 degrees in Phx and lunch rolls around so I decided to Doordash sandwiches to me. I place my online order of the Silver Haze, no cheese (don't do dairy) or house dressing sub mustard. The order comes in record time and I gleefully open up the bag to settle in and revel in sandwich awesomeness. Problem is they screwed up my order and it was covered in ... yes... cheese. I call and explain the issue to manager Emily and she informs me I have to call Doordash- not happy I hung up and called. However, when you call Doordash they say that they will only take calls from "restaurateurs" which I clearly am not. I called back and got Emily again, of course I am fuming, hunger completely taking over. Emily apologizes and this times asks where I live and that she will just run the sandwich over to me...and she did! She also was kind enough to bring a few coupons for snacks etc for my next trip! Every time we come to this location they mess up the order. It's a sandwich, how is it that easy to get wrong? My partner and I love cheba hut, but this location just makes it hard every time. The last time we came they had it wrong the first time so we sent it back. We're dinning in, so we're sitting there patiently waiting. About 20mins go by and we're thinking "what's going on", so we go see at the counter. Lo and behold they didn't even have the ticket to make the sandwich and of course they weren't. This place charged me 12.50 for an Arnold Palmer and a beer. Then I came back for a second round and they gave me the same drink but with one shot instead of two. And charged me the same. So I asked if a double and a single shot was the same price as I was getting a shot to put into my drink to make it stronger. She said yes it is the same price. I ordered the KIND, which was just the perfect mix of turkey, bacon, mushrooms, cheese and condiments on a great toasted bun (well everything is toasted). My boyfriend is a Cheba regular, but this was my first time going and I was NOT disappointed. This location is very new and is now close enough for me to visit regularly. The concept of this place is so creative, and the food is delicious! I had the Pakalolo (ham, Swiss and pineapple) with everything on it. Even if you're not friendly with ~Mary Jane~, this place is worth a try and should arguably be an iconic landmark. We came here for dinner: I ordered their Pakoloko and the freakin' pineapple and ham pairing is BOMB... thinking about it just makes my mouth water. I bought both goodie treats at checkout because they looked so interesting and the peanut butter ball was add.ict.ing. SERIOUSLY. Cheba Hut easily gets an A+ for their theme/concept/atmosphere, but they can improve on quality of the bread, toppings, and actual meat. Think about it.. your audience will want a LOADED sandwich. Do they offer a carb-free option, like a sub in a tub?? If not, Hop on board!! I'll have to ask next time I head in there. The location for this cheba hut is SO on- point!!! The first Cheba Hut i've ever seen with a bar! The parking does totally suck though since it's next to AMC and The Living Room which are both SOOOOOO popular on any given moment.
