Either something's on my mind or....I'm just not paying attention.... This place is nestled right into a strip mall that gets alot of traffic and in between a few other restaurants...maybe thats why. Nonetheless, I made it a point to finally walk through the doors since I'm around this hood weekly. Glad I did. I ordered the Humboldt /guac/veggie/, a big cookie and kool aid! The menu looks pretty decent, the staff is friendly and warm. The atmosphere is chill and they even have a bar that has some refreshing beer! Other sandwich/salad shops do not. Big points for the choice of brews and happy hour! Anyways...this sandwich was enormous. Delicious. Healthy. And satisfying. The customer service here was amazing! My food was ready when I pulled up and delivered with a smile (I think) my veggie sandwich with cream cheese was so good and filling that you don't even miss the meat! Food is on point like always, Kali Mist for life. Usually order my sandwich and grab an IPA at the bar and it usually goes smoothly. Tonight I waited and waited for my turn patiently, only for the bartender to skip me and serve a customer that had just arrived. I asked if there was a line I didn't know about since I was still waiting for service. About 15 minutes after arriving to the bar I had my beer. This place has fantastic dessert options of a variety of fountain beverages, works of Garden goodies to load your sandwich and they even make it toasty if you want! What is there not to love about Cheba?!? Their sandwiches are so delicious and unique and never disappointing. I think I could eat here for lunch every day. They have a very fun casual ambience and this location has a nice patio to also hang out and have your meal. Then you can just walk over and catch a movie right after. So far the two times I have been to this location their employees have been friendly and had my food ready fast. I like their bar area it's small and cozy, but it does the job and it seems like in the evenings they have a special going on because their beers were $3! 2nd edit: after waiting for 30 minutes I asked for an update. Two people that ordered after me got their food while I was still waiting. They let me know that it still hasn't been started!!! So unprofessional. I asked for a refund and went next door. I understand the effects of , but these are some of the slowest workers I've ever seen in my life. 10 people on the floor and I still couldn't get my sandwiches. Edit: still here 20 minutes later. The people that took my food just brought it back and they ended up leaving with their food AND my food. Not that I would've wanted it. I decided to try out Cheba Hut because I heard really good things about their sandwiches. I had the Power Plant veggie sandwich on the garlic herb bread that comes with guacamole, hummus, feta, lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle, cucumber, mushrooms, black olives and house italian dressing. The portion sizes were really good and I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich. The sandwich reminded me of the veggie wrap I get at Chopshop. We come here at least once a week, and tonight was a massive drop in expectations. The place really wasn't busy, there was maybe 8 people in the restaurant. Ordered at 6:20pm, didn't get our 3 sandwiches until 7:00. All three sandwiches were missing something, and we were handed the extra ingredients in containers to add ourself after asking about it. Service is THE WORST. I have a movie reservation next door for 1:45pm. I walk into this Cheba Hut and give my order (just a sandwich) at 1pm. I figure if I get the sandwich by 1:20 at latest I can chow down and still be on time for the film. So I'm sitting and waiting . . .and waiting . . .and waiting. At 1:20 I ask will it be out soon? I have a movie to make. They say "no, they haven't even started it yet, it'll be at least another 15 minutes!" No way, sez I, and ask for a refund which they politely gave me. I was stuck eating awful movie theater popcorn and nachos for lunch which ruined my day. Cheba Hut has a sign in this restaurant that says if it's ready in less than 5 minutes it's a miracle so don't expect that. They should be REQUIRED to post a sign saying "BUYER BEWARE: YOUR SANDWICH MAY TAKE UP TO 40 MINUTES TO PREPARE." At least that would be honest! read more

I honestly love the food probably some of my favorite to-go food, but I'm so sick and tired of mobile orders being disabled for the mobile app. I like to order from the app because it takes so long for the orders to be ready but the past month mobile orders are almost always disabled no matter the day of the week or time and I'd rather not go in and order and wait forever for my order to be done. Awful location. Girl at the register had an attitude. Pretty sure they lost the order. Said it was being made & 5-10 minutes. 12 minutes later, I had to ask. 22 minutes later I finally got that ONE sub. They weren't even busy. No excuse for having no respect for others time abd taking 20 minutes. They even have a sign saying, It will be a miracle if you get your sub in less than 5 minutes. First time here. I found it hard to find in the parking lot, the sign outside isn't very big or too readable. The sign in the front is at an angle and unless you're sitting at the barstools behind it, it's extremely uncomfortable to read with your head tilted back so far. I found the music to be a bit too loud, although the music was of good choice. Also, it's freezing cold in here!! Is the AC on? It's like 50 degrees outside. I received my sandwich and it didn't look "good" but I was starving and didn't are too much. I asked for garlic bread but couldn't taste that it was garlic bread, disappointing. Tasty subs! I usually order the Apollo 13, which is a Greek style sub with kalamata olives and chicken. I usually order to-go, but I dined in with my husband before seeing a movie, and I actually think it tastes a lot better there while it is nice and hot and toasted. They served it open face and it just seemed to taste extra good when it is ready to eat. Their chocolate chip cookies are very good, too! Friendly customer service as well.
