Usually Cracker Barrel is a go to for me as I LOVE their pancakes, though I have ordered via ubereats to my office without receiving syrup which left me avoiding ordering pancakes here. I've had some other good breakfast, though they sometimes package the food very oddly. My wife was craving Chiicken Fried Steak so we came here. She got an iced tea and we both got waters. My wife got the Chicken Fried Steak and a double order of Fried Cinnamon Apples and Corn Bread Muffins. I got the Southern Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy with Biscuits. My wife loved the Chicken Fried Steak and Apples. My Fried Chicken was hot and juicy, but the Mashed Potatoes were cold and lumpy. The Biscuits were hard and dried out. Service was good, and our waitress checked back on us often. Interior of store was full of stuff and was not one that went through the stupid update that the CEO tried to do, thank goodness. Have not been for years. I forgot about all the old antiques and cool treats for sale in the store up front. I ordered the pancake and eggs for breakfast. What impressed me was the smooth buttermilk pancakes and the real butter and pure maple syrup. I will come again to try their chocolate pecan pie. read more

Cracker Barrels are the same everywhere in the US. Predictable, basic and exactly what you expect. The restaurants all look the same inside. Cracker Barrel stores are full of tchotchkes and retro candy. Excellent service. Roaring fireplace. Clean as a whistle. The cup of chicken dumpling soup was tasty but not hot enough. The grits - delicious as always. Turnip greens, one of my favourite US southern sides was disappointing. The "spicy" chicken breast was juicy and tasty. Cracker Barrel is an institution in the US. The inside was a bit overstimulating as people are packed inside and the clutter from all of the trinkets and historical items. Knowing Cracker Barrel doesn't take reservations, I was understandably nervous when my Mother-in-law decided she wanted to celebrate her 99th birthday here - along with 17 of her family and friends. I called a week ahead of time and spoke with Erica, who assured me that, regardless, they would "take care of us." Well, I'm here to tell you that Erica was a good as her word! Within minutes of our arrival they had our tables set up, water served and drink orders taken. We had the great luck of having Jay as our server. He handled our large and boisterous group with grace and humor. Our food was served promptly and came to the table good and hot! Hey guys stopped in today for lunch with the family. I have always loved the feel of cracker barrel old school store and dining. The host was very nice and we got sat right away. Are server was Jessica her service was okay. I order drinks and took some time to get them. I look around for them and couldn't be found. We order our food I got the Louisiana Style Shrimp Skillet. My sides were onion petals and Mac and cheese and got biscuits. It comes with a garlic bread. I said no rice but they gave it to me anyways. The rice I believe was not cooked all the way still hard. The shrimp had good flavor but was rubbery and swimming in sauce. I thought it being Louisiana style it would have a little kick to it but it didn't which was okay. The petals were great and Mac n cheese was so creamy and piping hot. During our time the server checked maybe 2 times on us. My mom got chicken and dumplings which was amazing. I waited for my refill for a while she stoped and said I'll be right back took about 10mins for that. We asked for Togo box's and then paid and left. I would understand if it was busy for the timing but it was not busy at all. The only thing that saved this trip was my sides. Hopefully if we stop again the service is better. read more

I was craving meatloaf and after work decided to stop at Cracker Barrel Chandler. Server was kind but meal was ok. Best part of my meal was the salad. I believe the meat in the greens was bad. My first batch went to add hot sauce but the lid was not on the sauce so it spilled all in the first bowl of greens. The second bowl of greens I didn't put the hot sauce on and noticed more pieces of meat. Was about to eat it and was like the smell was off from what I'm familiar with. Thinking at first maybe it is how they were cooked. By the time I got home I had to toss the greens my entire car smelled like bad cooked pork. Since I had to wait for second bowl I was full. I had taken everything to go, even the greens. I'm a believer that things happen for a reason the hot sauce issue was a blessing as I would have been sick had I eaten the first bowl of greens. read more

I've always loved Cracker Barrel but it has definitely lost touch with its roots. There are just too many options and corporate has opted for cheaper options to replace things. The food is just not as flavorful and fresh. Things tasted overcooked, mushy vegetables, and the meats were drier than usual. They would do better if they focus on the country basics and do them well instead. The best thing was the Mac n cheese. Our server was kind and attentive and made our experience pleasant! The store is always fun to browse and I appreciate the old fashioned games and candies. I'll inevitably be back to try it again though and I'm hopeful for an improved dining experience. read more

We stopped in for a family breakfast at this Cracker Barrel and had a great time! I haven't been to one in a very long time and was impressed by the breakfast options and how the food came out. We all got some type of special, mine included steak tips, we had biscuits and gravy, hash browns etc and the coffee was great! Quentin noticed that we were sitting and waiting for it food to stop and ask if r needed anything else and offered us biscuits while we waited. If you've been to a Cracker Barrel you know what to expect. It's a restaurant with a large gift shop stuck in the front of it for some reason. This southern institution is known for offering comfort foods like meatloaf, friend chicken, gravy on any and everything. I went on Sunday after church with two friends. The staff were friendly and our food was tasty. I wanted to order the chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy, but I knew I shouldn't, so I ordered the grilled chicken tenders instead. A VERY gruff old woman, probably the manager comes up and asks, me, are you on "the list". I said no. Love the store spent a few minutes looking at all the stuff they had. Now for the negative I ordered the grandpa country fried breakfast the chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs and hash brown casserole it came with biscuits and gravy. The star of the meal was the hash brown casserole, the chicken fried steak was soggy and had no flavor, the biscuits and gravy were ok nothing to write home about. My wife got an email advertising their new shepherds pie and she thought it looked really good. When they brought it to the table we were in shock how bad and different it looked from the picture. It didn't even look like the same menu item. After making fun of it for a few minutes, she tried it and said it tasted delicious even though it didn't look very good. I was excited to join a friend for lunch there since I've only been one time prior. The only thing I can say is the service was stellar and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The rest of the experience was horrible. The food was sub par to say the most. My eggs weren't even cooked like I ordered them. The only thing I ate was half the pancakes. I received the bill and went to check out and they applied a discount, used a gift card and was prompted to add a tip(the gift card wasn't enough and I still had a balance) and the computer suggested a tip prior to the discount which was $10.30 so I hit yes. Then the cashier gave me my new total and it seemed high so I questioned it and she got irritated and pulled a scrap paper and wrote all of it down. I felt pressured because a line had formed so I just went to charge the balance on my card. It again asked me for the tip of $10.30 which I assumed was just to confirm so I hit yes again. Received my receipt and kept thinking that the bill was really high for what we had. I got home and went to review my receipt and it charged me $10.30 twice! I was livid! I basically just tipped $20.60 on a $40 check. I called to speak to a manager and told them what had happened. He was completely uninterested and said he can't make adjustments only a district manager can do that. His suggestion was to drive all the way back there to see this manager the following day. He told me she would adjust it and refund my money for the charge. It it would be taken away from my waitress. I didn't want to do that because I felt that wasn't fair so I just left it alone. I'm just curious how many other people are getting scammed out of money for horrible food. Look at your check and if you have questions, hold up the line!
