I ordered a burger with no bun. It came with a bun. I asked for the burger to be re made, as I am allergic to bread. The woman over the phone was annoyed (I understand it's annoying when the kitchen makes a mistake but that's bad customer service, and I left a tip) They gave me an unseasoned burger patty well done with fries as a result. I just spent 51$ getting 2 burgers and 2 teas, I can't even get toppings on my burger ? The fries are cardboard anyway. Do not eat here, huge waste of money. Very disappointed. I decided that I really wanted fish, but not fried fish. Looking at menus of resaurants in the area, Johnnie's on 2 seemed to have exactly what I wanted. I walked in, and a very nice server (Sandy, maybe) seated me right away. She was very nice to me and gave me a lot of attention. She told me that she purposely sat me in her section. I orered the whitefish hoagie and iced tea. She made a point of making sure my tea was always full, and she even gave me some to go! The downside of the restaurant was that it was LOUD! They were playing a game, and even though the place wasn't crowded, they were using a microphone turned up very loud. And the noise from the pool table carried as well. I also noticed that the floor didn't have a good foundation; every time someone walked by, my table shook a bit. I enjoyed my meal and the service, but I must admit that I was glad to get out of there; as a weary traveller, it was just too loud for me. read more

Aside from our food taking at least 45 mins to come out, this place was great. Portions are huge and I wish the waitress would've told us so we could've skipped out on the peel and eat shrimp but it is what it is. We could barely finish the nachos, which was mostly chips, they kind of skimped out on the meat as you can see in the picture, it was mostly veggies and chips. The peel and eat shrimp was surprisingly good and the kids hot dogs were also good but how do you mess up hot dogs right? Overall, the food was surprisingly good here. read more

After a weekend of camping near Manistique, I was craving some vegetables and lighter food. Usually Nate and I just grab a pasty on our way up and back from the U.P., but we decided to stop at Johnnie's on 2 before heading back down state. I wanted some whitefish, and saw they had it on their menu. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived, so we were told to take a seat wherever. We ordered drinks - a beer from their extensive tap list for Nate, water for me - and then tried to order food. They were out of a few things I asked for, but I ended up getting the broiled whitefish dinner with a side salad and fries, and Nate got the whitefish hoagie. The salad came out first and it was huge. We were happy to split this and our bodies thanked us for the veggies. It was fresh and had great toppings - some red onion, fresh mushrooms, green peppers, cherry tomatoes, and plenty of cheese. Our other food came out shortly afterwards. My fish was a little bland and just slightly overcooked, but I still liked it. The fries were okay, just your typical frozen bar fries. Nate really enjoyed the whitefish hoagie - it was a generous portion of fish, at least on one half of the sandwich. I had a few bites and didn't love the sauteed red onions on it. My wife and I ate here two nights in a row. The first night we sat at the bar and it would have warranted five stars. Kimmie the bartender was great. We had the smoked fished dip and it was fantastic. The bartender undersold the hot dog as nothing special but honestly it was great dog for the price. Like wise the whitefish bites exceeded expectations. We decided to come back the next night and sat at a table in the bar. We ordered the Italian sandwich with onion rings and once again the whitefish bites. Unfortunately what could have been another 5 star experience was negated by the fact the first 4 draft beers I ordered weren't available and the fish bites were overcooked and cold. read more

Just a mile off of the beaten track. A restaurant you won't want to miss! Tons of food options! Wings, Burgers, Sandwiches, Salads, Onion Rings, Cheese Curds, and Sweet Potato Fries to name a few! Server was very friendly and accommodating! We stopped by w/ a decent sized group, and it wasn't too busy. We decided to try a cheeseburger with bacon, cheese and tomato, as well as a bag of potato chips. Both of which were delicious! We also tried the wings! There were a handful of sauces available for them! The garlic one was our fav! Sweet Potato fries were amazing! And the Kids meals were good and plentiful! Highly recommend! We were really excited to eat at Johnnie's because of the positive Yelp reviews. Unfortunately we left hungry and disappointed. First, when we walked into the restaurant there is no sign that says "seat yourself" or "please wait to be seated." This makes it very confusing and awkward for customers. They should take this into consideration and add a sign of some sort for their guests. Eventually a waitress said "sit wherever you'd like." We proceeded. We sat down and the table was so sticky. I asked the waitress if she could wipe the table but she said the finish on the tables is what makes them so sticky. This was bothersome but not a huge deal. The music was super loud for it being prime time for dinner around 6:15pm. My dad and I both were starving from a day of exploring the UP, and so we both ordered burgers. The waitress asked, "the burgers are cooked to "medium" is that okay?" Absolutely, that is what we preferred. They get brought out to us and they were cooked well done and so dry. It wasn't a classic juicy burger. I should have gotten a photo of it but I didn't. My burger looked good, the one pictured, but it was not cooked how we ordered. My dad took two bites of his burger and didn't even finish it. I ate about half of mine. The chili on mine was great. The waitress came back to check on us and she asked us how everything was. My dad politely said it was horrible and we showed her that the burgers were well done and dry. She apologized. She came back again to give us our bills and she said her manager instructed her to take off my dads burger since he didn't even eat it. But in this case, that isn't what we wanted. We don't want free food. What should have happened is the manager should have came out and apologized and learned more to help the business grow from this mistake. We tipped the waitress higher because it wasn't her fault. The bathrooms were clean which was great. Overall we didn't have a super great experience. read more

Walked into the place for breakfast and stood there for a good five minutes. Someone finally yelled at us that we could sit wherever we wanted to, but there were no clean tables. Someone cleaned one off for us then sat there for another ten minutes and nobody ever came over. We finally just got up and left. Thats a bad start so we won't be back. read more

Wow their food is amazing. The service is lacking with places being short handed after COVID, but it wasn't bad enough to take away a 5 star review. I had the Ecorse edge burger and it was great. They originally brought me the wrong burger, an Osted Wildcat burger, it was fantastic as well. My girlfriend was also amazed by their House Salad with Chicken, and the Felix fries are a must have. read more

They remade the burger, but when it came out it didn't have any Swiss cheese or the special sauce it's known for. I didn't want to say anything at that point because we'd already waited a long time and also I felt bad to say something was wrong again. So I ate the dry burger. It was disappointing to wait so long and still not get what I ordered. I'd recommend this place if you want an app and beer (excellent beer list!). But if you want a meal, I'd skip it. read more

There are wings, sandwiches and fresh fish ... and burgers! But not just boring every day burgers. Lots of different combinations of burgers! Want something traditional? Get a Mackinac Butter Burger! feeling like it's close to breakfast ? Get a Waterview Windsor it has bacon, cheese AND an egg! Can't decide between pulled pork or a burger ? You can get a burger WITH pulled pork! You could go every day for a week and not repeat a burger. Cooked perfectly. Not salty. Just a damn tasty burger. My son had blackened salmon, it was a nice portion size and cooked perfectly. Our server anticipated every need and I'll be honest, we felt spoiled, as so many places are suffering with any quality servers and here this place has several ! The extras: full bar.
