if I could give this location, 10 stars, I definitely would. The manager at this location is named Indica and Check City needs to hire more people like her. I had a large settlement check and was trying to access some funds against so I went to the Chase branch where the issuers account was established. Not only would Chase bank not assist me with opening an account of any kind to deposit the check, the manager was dismissive and insulting asking me where I got the check and questioning legitimacy. That is when I called Check City on West Tropicana and asked Indica if she could assist me in anyway. Indica went out of her way to help me out of a frustrating situation. She honestly went above and beyond what I expected from any employee these days. Most importantly, she listened to my whole situation, then went into action, calling her supervisors and finding a solution to assist me. In the end, she was able to get approval to not only cash my check, but also was able to get me a reduced check cashing fee which saved me literally hundreds of dollars. While other places would not even listen to my request after they heard the amount of the check, Indica at this branch was a freaking rockstar and found a solution. Indica's personality, sense of humor, professionalism, and ability to go the extra mile has earned Check city a customer for life. read more

Similar to others, I came in and waited an extensive time just to be treated poorly for trying to cash a check. I walked up to the desk once called (I have never been to this establishment before) and handed over my check and ID. The woman behind the desk picked it up and saw I had endorsed it already and written a note for mobile deposit (which I haven't done, otherwise why would I even be there?) and extremely snobbishly told me she couldn't accept it followed up with a "have a nice day". No explanation or anything. I was honestly baffled -- I did absolutely nothing to warrant that kind of behavior. If she was having a bad day, which I don't blame her for as it looks like she was working alone, please don't take it out on the customers. :( read more

The agents behind the counter are super nice and efficient Wait time is usually not more than ten minutes. Money Order is less expensive than Walmart(and Wally mart takes forever). I recently went to this location with my fiancé, the guy that was helping us was super nice and polite, in the other hand the lady that was working with him was rude and disrespectful, she threw my fiancé's ID at him through the slide under the window, and in a rude manner told him to sign and put a reference in the form, when in reality we weren't there to apply for a loan or anything like that it was for a different reason, I have to other locations but none of them have treated me or any one in that manner. I work in customer service so I know how it can get but I have never treated or disrespect a customer no matter how I feel at that moment or day. There are no words to express my gratitude and appreciation for how CHECK CITY on W. Tropicana and Ft. Apache has been there to help me in my time of need. They ALWAYS come through when I need it the most where other places have not. I would recommend them to EVERYONE! I don't always get paid on time, so in order to cover payroll or bills, I sincerely NEED help at times. Their interest rates are lower than other places and they will even extend the loan if and when I need it. This last time I was in, the most wonderful girl, Gwen helped me. She was AMAZING! So helpful and really went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable and when you are borrowing money, it's not always a comfortable feeling. Jarrod, the general manager takes the time to know you by name and he made the whole experience easy for me. Other institutions may be intimidating, pressuring, and downright scary. Not this one. When times are tough, the staff here are understanding. They work with me, they're flexible with me, and most importantly, they communicate with me. The rates for all the loans are as low as you can get! The extension policy for late payment is very reasonable as well! If there's ever a place I need a check cashed with no trouble, it's here. I'm not sure how the closing procedures work, but I arrived I guess 45 minutes after your store closed. Do your doors automatically lock at a certain time? Or are your lobby doors open through out the night? I arrived and saw lights on, the open sign on, and people inside. So, of course I went inside to a lady yelling at me that the store has been closed since 6. I was about to ask if another closer location is open, but she interrupted me and kicked me out. Extremely rude customer service. I was first unpleasantly called upon to the teller window by "Batman". Wanted to cash a check at 5:43, but was told it's "too late to cash a check". I believe on coronavirus hours they close at 6. So I apologize for coming in and being a nuisance of a customer, because I definitely felt unappreciated, and more of a nuisance, than anything. OH and nobody said hello either, just a "OVER HERE". Hate to be rude, but I work for a living too, and if I gave somebody that same customer service, I don't think my boss would be very excited with me, so I believe everyone should be held to a certain standard when working customer service jobs. read more

I never have any problems anywhere I go to cash my checks, whether it be the bank or money tree. The workers were rude and had me wait 15 minutes after calling and verifying it. Very prejudice establishment and I won't recommend anyone go here unless you're trying to waste time.
