Collateral based loans can be tricky. Having worked in the financial industry for the latter part of my career, when my friend told me about it, I cringed. But I promised to help as best as I could by lending what financial wherewithal I could give. Of all the car title loans that we could scour the internet, one came up consistently on top with its reviews and reputation. I accompanied my friend and we were greeted by Maggie. She did a quick evaluation of my friend's vehicle (paid off and luxury model) and was able to secure a loan in excess of $5k. Here's the kicker - the interest rate was only 9%. In Las Vegas. I couldn't believe it. He and I combed through the internet together, calling banks and credit unions - only to be presented with offers that started at 16%. One offer came back at 32%. Highway robbery, if you ask me. As can be expected, he and I went through the terms carefully and saw that it was legit. I had a large settlement check and was trying to access some funds against so I went to the Chase branch where the issuers account was established. Not only would Chase bank not assist me with opening an account of any kind to deposit the check, the manager was dismissive and insulting asking me where I got the check and questioning legitimacy. That is when I called Check City on West Tropicana and asked Indica if she could assist me in anyway. Indica went out of her way to help me out of a frustrating situation. She honestly went above and beyond what I expected from any employee these days. Most importantly, she listened to my whole situation, then went into action, calling her supervisors and finding a solution to assist me.
