If I could give them NO stars, I would. My boyfriend and I decided to order from here through Door Dash. Due to the coronavirus going on, not many options. We usually love Checkers, but this time we were very, VERY disappointed. I ordered the Bacon All American Cheeseburger and to my surprise there was NO bacon as well as hardly any condiments. I also ordered the chili cheese fries and they were so poorly presented and the portion size was awful. I found a piece of black something inside my fries. It was a mess. My boyfriend ordered the Baconzilla burger and it had a hair on it. $24 for this mess? We have tried calling the restaurant numerous times with no answer. Checkers needs to get it together. The only reason it's not getting 1 Star is because the food is actually decent. The service here, however, is brutal. It takes about 10 mins on average before you place your order and then another 10 mins before actually receiving the order. They seem heavily understaffed because slow service here is a consistent recurring theme at this Checkers location. The food is decent and the location is convenient for me from my work location which is the only reason I really come here. They have a lot to improve on. read more

Me and my girlfriend ate here for the first time. I ordered the bacon burger and she had just the regular checkers burger. My girlfriends was pretty good but my burger was so salty it was not even eatable. It was honestly the worst burger I have ever had and was like eating a tea spoon of salt with every bite and will be the first and last time I eat there. read more

Meh.. Checkers food looks good on the menu but is always disappointing, with the exception of their fries, which are great. "Big" Chicken Sandwich is pretty average size in my opinion and always has soggy lettuce. Burgers are bland, wings are dry with lots of sauce and not much chicken, and the chili dogs are decent, but not great. Kool-aid slush is flavorless and wasn't slushy at all. Yet again here I am eating burgers, this time it is Checkers. I've been here several times but both of my boys have never tried it so they were excited. As we arrived, both lines for the drive-thru were backed up so I decided to walk up to order. Looking over the menu I do see they added chicken wings since the last time I visited and they offer several flavors, original buffalo, hot buffalo, Parmesan and two others I cannot remember cause I was focused on ordering a good burger. I can't lie, both of my boys as well as I were a little overwhelmed by the burger options that it took us about 10 minutes to decide. My oldest son went with the Bacon Roadhouse burger, two patties, bacon, bbq sauce and fried onion pieces. When I asked my son how he liked it, he smiled and said, "it was really good". His go to burger for fast food is usually the Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger at Jack in the Box, but he said this one definitely is far more superb and he wants to go back soon for this burger again. My little son chose a monster of a burger, the Baconzilla which is two patties, a crazy amount of cheese and heaping amount of bacon. When he told me the combo number I didn't look at which one he was ordering but when we started eating my mouth watered looking at it. That burger had so much appeal to the eye I can only imagine what it felt on the taste-buds and stomach. He loved it so much it is now his favorite burger. I ordered the Big Buford, double patties, lettuce, tomato, pickles cheese and all that good stuff. The meat was well portioned, moist and bursting with flavor. The veggies tasted great, really nice crisp to the lettuce and was fresh. The bread was so soft but didn't break with the moisture of the meat or ingredients and that makes for such a great burger. The seasoned fries are always great, my kids loved them up too. But I will say that the burgers definitely stole the show this time around. They also offer loaded fries which I've had before but just didn't pop into my brain when ordering. The food is very delicious especially the burgers and if they weren't clear across the other side of town for me, we might visit more often. As far as rating they are just below 4 stars, we will be back soon to check out the rest of the menu when the time permits. read more

Awesome burgers and fries! We ordered 2 big Bufords w/bacon, 4chicken sandwiches, 3 large fries, and 3 orders of potato skins. Everything turned out exactly how we ordered them and the fries & skins were hot and crispy. But what made our experience 5 stars was the service. The gentleman taking our order was friendly, professional and made sure the order was correct since we ordered quite a bit of food. He even offered us water while we waited. We will definitely be back... Probably next week. I'd like to try their chicken wings next. read more

Do not do the drive thru! From the start of waiting in line to talking to the microphone was 15 minutes and then getting my food was a total of at least 35 minutes. They have two lines but it does not really help. Food is good though. read more

The food is always good but customer service has never been a good experience. Last time I went they got my order wrong twice and when I asked to get it fixed the cashier and a cook were giving me the dirtiest stares and bad attitude. I come to this Checkers to visit with my car buddies. They have good food, I have tried almost every thing on the menu and it has all been good. They do not have a problem with us hanging out and visiting, The people are nice and surprisingly even the restrooms are pretty clean. read more

We've been here a few times. I'm a sucker for their fries, which are pretty damn delicious. However, this review is about my experience tonight where no food was eaten. After a long day of working I was in no mood to cook. So I went through the drive through to feed the family tonight. They were pretty busy with about 3 cars ahead of me. The drive thru was still pretty quick. I pull up to the window to pay and I'm given my drinks and provide my bank card. Then the lady opens the window and tells me my card declined. I'm thinking no way, and ask to have it run again as well as giving her another card other than my debit card to run. I start having a mini heart attack thinking what the hell, as two people at my work this week have had fraud on their bank accounts where someone wipes them clean. I look up my bank account as my cards are being ran and I definately have more than enough money for the transaction. The worker returns and looks a little irked and tells me both my cards declined and shows me a receipt where the transaction won't go through, doesn't say declined, just an error of some sort. So I say something like, hmm I just checked my account, maybe could it possibly be your machine? Like a malfunction. The worker blazingly responds, well several cars just went ahead of you with no problems. So shocked I tell her to let me give you these drinks back. She closes the window, speaks to someone for a second and says to just keep the drinks and sends me on my way. My question is, I know there are two drive thru sides, do they have two registers and card machines? No offer was made to try the other register. I mean I guess it's not a huge deal. I know computers malfunction. I just have worked in customer service and felt it was lacking a bit tonight. I called my bank after I left and all was good on my end. I went around the corner to another fast food place to get our dinner and my bank card miraculously worked. Kids were fed, so their happy. Sadly, I really wanted checker fries. This was a good place to pick up good burger, until I hsd an incident there. I placed ordered drive thru andcwhen I pulled up to the drive up window, I was told the amount, I gave the cashier a $20.00 dallor bill. She disappear for a moment and returned back saying the $ 20.00 was no good and she explained that in her opinion the $20.00 was a forgery but it did past the marker test, but she felt the $20.00 wasn't any good. Then she asked if we want her to stay with the $20.00 and give her another $20.00 to pay for what we ordered. Now this meal which cost $13 and change would have cost me $40.00. If you want old as fuck disgusting food thatll make you spray out of ever orifice in your body then this is the perfect place. The works are also extremely slow and apathetic and all suck at their jobs. I recommend that no one eat here. Too high to be a fast food place. Made me and my son wait outside the service window for a while. Didn't bother to open and say hello or I'll be right with you or to even acknowledge us. Opened the window after 10 minutes and said sorry. The wait for a simple happy meal was 10 minutes so we left. I won't be back. My wife and I stopped by to get some food on our way home, didn't order too much food. When we pulled up to the window, one of the workers rudely greeted us and looked visibly irritated with us from the start. Once our food finally came out, I asked for a drink carrier for our sundaes, and she angrily put our sundaes in the carrier. My husband brought us here for the first time today.....he had tried it before. The food was excellent, and priced very reasonably. i agree.... the fries are great! But I give them 5 stars for the friendly service and the fact that upon noticing that our 3 kids were going to share the large shake we ordered, the associate offered to split it up in 3 small cups for them... Worst service ever. Went here on a thrusday around 9pm. At first a man was taking our order and he was struggling to get it right. Then a woman finally came to take it and she still struggled. After 3 times we told her our order we ask her to read it back to us and it was still wrong. Then we went to the window we paid and got our receipt back they forgot a drink. We ask about the drink and the girl (her name was Aleeya) got all upset with us. While we waited for our food we can see her making the food thru the window and she never wore a glove. We watched some more and she was counting money and then grabed our food with her bare hand!! Not once did I see her wash her hands. And all the other employees looked lost. Fast food. Any easy concept, but hard to pull off. On this visit to Checkers, the order was simple, Jess, who looked managerial, had a heck of a time comprehending the order. When I say, I'd like a medium meal number 10 with unsweetened ice tea, Jess, why did you feel so compelled to ask, "Will that be a large?" followed only by, "Sweet tea, right?". And the hamburger kids meal and chicken tender, ranch sauce kids meal, both with Sprite....how can that result in a question like " what type of sauce with the tenders?". But it did. And to make matters worse, Jess coughed the entire time...sure he looked away from the window, but then coughed right into the kitchen. To top off this visit, the kids meal came without any sauce and my meal came with Sweet Tea! Needlesss to say, this franchise needs immediate attention from the quality control unit at corporate. As for me, it will be a long time before I stop in at any Checkers, if ever. read more

This is our family's Friday night dinner spot! The drive thru can be really busy so we usually get off and enjoy our food at the little tables. Our favorite menu items are The Roadhouse Bacon Burger, Hot wings (angry Buffalo), and of course the FRIES! The fries are awesome and basically a must have when we eat here. The angry buffalo wings are very Big, HOT, and delicious! If you haven't tried The Roadhouse Bacon Burger, give it a try, its too good to pass up. The staff is pretty nice but it may take a little while to get your fast food but hey it's worth the little wait. read more

Good fast food joint! Was driving through Bakersfield and, like always, turned to Yelp for where to get some good grub. Found Checkers and my first thought was that it was similar to Sonics! Drive through or walk up window and eat it outside. Tried their bacon double cheeseburger, bacon roadhouse, crispy fish sandwich, fully loaded fries, potato skins, and the best was their strawberry cheesecake hole-lotta!! All was good and exceeded my expectations. The only bad thing I have to say was it was a hot day and had to wave some flies away from our food. Maybe better taking it to go :) read more

I just left checkers drive thru about 15 minutes ago ( 8:15 pm ), after waiting for 25 minutes without it moving one time on either side. Thankfully about 10 cars behind me backed out so I could get out. 25 mins and not even 1 car moved is ridiculous and that's putting it lightly!! I go home and call them to see what was going on and the girl who answered the phone said it was because they are understaffed and because people were ordering 15-20 chicken strips at a time and they have to keep dropping stuff over and over....... Ok first off all I have worked in fast food and been understaffed etc dealing with all the excuses she gave so I know how it works so I also know how long it takes to cook chicken, fries etc and it doesn't take 25 mins and longer for 1 friggen car. She didn't seem very sincere about it either, just wanted to make excuses!!! Can't say I'd ever come back here again, there fries are good but not that good! read more

This checkers is 10/10. We go there very frequently and we specially ask for our food to be made fresh. They make our food in less than 5 minutes and the employees are very nice. I'd never tried Checkers before, but saw an episode of Undercover Boss where it was featured so thought I'd give it a try:) it was delicious! I didn't even know we had one in town! One of the best kept secrets! I had the cheeseburger and fries and my daughter had the BBQ wings. We also ordered the hole lotta cheesecake sundae and chocolate Oreo cone.
